Chapter 73: It’s Saggy.

Max saw his world turn upside down for a second while standing in front of the sink, his reflection in the mirror flipping strangely as if the entire washroom had rotated, then everything went completely black, the tiled walls and white lights disappearing into nothing.

Before he could even blink, everything turned painfully bright, the mirror and ceiling lights burning into his eyes while he gripped the edge of the sink to steady himself, it stayed bright for a few long seconds.

Then slowly his eyes began to adapt, the harsh light settling into clear shapes and sharp lines, his vision had changed, a lot, he could now see every small scratch on the mirror, the tiny water stains around the faucet, the dust near the ceiling vent, even the faint hairline cracks in the tiles above the locked door, he could see so much more than before.

With a slightly dizzy head, he shook his head slightly to clear it, then exited the locked washroom and stepped into the corridor, because of his vision everything felt wobbly and stretched at the edges.

The world looked like it had zoomed out too far and too fast, he tried to walk mostly closing his eyes for a few seconds at a time, blinking slowly to adjust, sometimes even gripping the railing beside him to keep his balance as the sharpness of everything almost overwhelmed him.

Max noticed he could easily see the roadside shop far away, he was standing on the third-floor balcony, then there was a huge open field in between with students walking across it like tiny moving dots.

Beyond that was the large university entrance gate, and the shop was on the opposite side of the double-lane road, the signboard looked clear, the price posters readable, even the small movements near the counter visible as if they were only a few meters away.

T...That’s!! I can even see her cleavage from here? Ridiculously disgusting!!

Max didn’t curse his eyes, he quickly looked away instead, slightly embarrassed and regretful at what he had just focused on, he had seen a pair of fucking super saggy boobs intentionally.

The woman had a beautiful face, looked to be in her thirties, so he thought she would have a nice pair on her chest, and the detail was enough to make him uncomfortable, he felt a faint wave of nausea and rubbed his temple lightly, realizing this level of clarity might not always be a blessing.

He then forced himself back to the class, steadying his breathing before stepping inside, his seat was empty but Jennifer had already started the class, the room quiet except for her voice and the soft tapping of keyboards.

Seeing Max walk in almost like he was in a drunken stupor, slightly unbalanced but trying to look composed, she frowned, Max somehow made it to his seat without stumbling, pulling the chair back smoothly and sitting down as if nothing was wrong.

Max’s entry of course grabbed a lot of attention, first of all the professor froze mid-sentence for a second, second he was tall and naturally charismatic even when he looked unstable, third every girl in the class got distracted the moment he stepped in,

" Are you drunk? "

" No...Ma’am "

Jennifer asked him this question seeing him wobble slightly on his feet, Max tried to answer with a simple no at first, but looking at her naughty smirk and raised brow he added "ma’am" in a calm tone, keeping his voice steady despite the slight dizziness still lingering in his head.

" Well, focus on the board, I don’t like late arrivals, next time be careful "

" Y...Yes "

Jennifer almost laughed while reprimanding him, keeping her voice firm even though the corner of her lips twitched, then before anyone could notice her suppressed smile, she turned back to the whiteboard and the large screen beside it, where her silver MacBook Pro was connected.

The new laptop was open on the desk as she switched slides smoothly, clearly enjoying how fast and clean everything looked on the display, she uncapped the marker again and continued writing in neat strokes, occasionally tapping the trackpad to provide links to her newly made notes on the screen.

It took Max nearly half an hour to get fully adjusted to his new eyes, at first everything felt too sharp and unnatural, like the world was moving a little faster than it should, then slowly his body began to sync with the change.

When his breathing finally steadied, his balance returned, and the sharpness became normal, if he didn’t have a modified body already strengthened by the system, he doubted this adjustment would have been this easy.

He took notes and this time he felt the lack of typing speed once again, his fingers moving slower than the flow of the lecture, missing small points and having to go back.

He was very slow at typing and Jennifer, seeing him still typing while others had already stopped, would pause slightly and explain the same point in another way, pretending it was for the whole class but clearly giving him time to catch up.

She was although having fun with him, his small mistakes today amusing her, because he was usually so perfect in every way that sometimes she even wondered if he was truly human, so seeing him struggle a little made her quietly happy, but it didn’t mean she wouldn’t help him out however she could, and she adjusted her pace whenever she noticed him falling behind.

When her class ended, Max saw Jeanne running up to Jennifer and asking questions while she packed her stuff, closing her new MacBook Pro carefully and slipping it into her bag, stacking loose papers from her thesis and adjusting her old laptop bag on her shoulder.

Jennifer smiled seeing Jeanne and explained patiently, leaning slightly against the desk, while her eyes were quietly expecting Max to come to her as well to ask a question, but seeing him still seated at his desk and not moving, she was slightly disappointed, though she hid it behind a calm expression.

After this class, Max looked at the class routine on his phone and seeing he didn’t have any more classes for today and the time was only two in the afternoon, he decided to visit the bank.

He was planning to collect as much cash as he could in the process, he already had one fifty grand in his apartment, and he needed seven hundred thousand more to complete the total Bronte amount.

Max gestured Finn to come near and quickly copied his notes while Finn explained in short bursts, the stack was nearly thirty pages long and Max had barely written down four and a half pages before class ended.

Once he finished copying the important parts he finally packed his laptop into his bag, then he saw Jeanne coming over from the side corridor, walking straight toward them, she had changed her laptop to a MacBook today, yesterday she was surely using a different one. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

She bought this in a day? And can’t feed herself? Her family is full of crazy people.

She was actually using the same laptop as him, MacBook Pro ash black version, the same model that had cost him almost eight grand after taxes and warranty, and yet she had been struggling to figure out how to manage food yesterday, the contrast making him narrow his eyes slightly.
