Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 1794 - 1795: Ailock’s Cold-Blooded Ruthlessness
"One, number One." The Commander scanned around and found no sign of Rolaff, so he spoke weakly.
"Don’t bother, Rolaff is not here." Ailock said with a calm demeanor.
Although the Commander had resolved to rebel, standing before Ailock made him feel unnerved.
Ailock had been in this position for five years, and within those years, his image as number One was deeply imprinted in their hearts.
Even if number One was alone, his aura was enough to make people submit.
The Commander’s cold sweat flowed as he stood there, confused by the absence of Rolaff, whom he thought had agreed to meet him here.
"Strange, isn’t it?" Number One smiled calmly as he spoke from his seat.
The Commander did not hide his confusion but nodded seriously, asking, "Why is number Two not here?"
Ailock’s eyes filled with disappointment, then he said, "Surrender, you’ve already failed. I’ve long been aware of your conspiracy with Rolaff."
The Commander was not shocked; he had already sensed it upon entering.
He smiled self-deprecatingly and asked, "How did you know?"
"He’s my undercover agent," Ailock pointed to the number Two secretary lying on the ground.
The Commander frowned, evidently confused as to why the number Two secretary was lying on the ground if he was Ailock’s agent.
"Rolaff just killed him," Ailock said regretfully.
The Commander did not doubt him, then shook his head with a smile, "Life is ironic. If we had won, I would have become the Army Chief Commander."
Ailock laughed, albeit helplessly.
"What are you laughing at?" The Commander asked angrily.
"I was planning to assign you as the Army Chief Commander," said Ailock.
"What?" The Commander stared wide-eyed at Ailock, "Impossible, number One and number Three are your people, why not them? You’re lying."
"Hmph!" Ailock stood and walked to the window, sighing, "Even though they are my people, they lack the ability and ambition. As the saying goes, a soldier who does not wish to become a General is not a good soldier; in this, you surpass them."
The Commander’s complaints softened, realizing that Ailock could not be deceiving him at this stage.
"Number One, I now..."
The Commander regretted to the extreme, wishing he could return time and choose again.
"It’s too late, everything is too late," Ailock sighed, "But don’t worry, I will take care of your family."
The Commander hesitated. Without Rolaff’s support, even if he captured Ailock now, he would never leave the city and would implicate his family.
"Chief, I’m sorry," The Commander finally could not help but kneel down.
Ailock secretly sighed in relief seeing this, then calmly said, "Any last words? Speak now."
The Commander knew his fate and had no hope, so he said, "This is all my fault. I hope the chief can spare my family."
Ailock sighed, "Rest assured, as I said before, this won’t entangle them. I will also honor you as a martyr who sacrificed for the nation."
The Commander’s tears flooded down; life is like a joke, as a wrong choice offers no chance to turn back.
At that moment, the gunfire outside resumed, louder and fiercer than before.
Ailock knew his reinforcements had arrived; while the Commander could lead his troops in a sneak attack, he stood no chance against Ailock’s forces directly.
"Do you want to wait for them or end it yourself now?" Ailock asked calmly.
The Commander hesitated; facing death, many would not face it calmly.
Ultimately, he overcame his fear, stood up, and picked up a dagger.
"Chief, please keep your word," he said without delay, then stabbed himself in the heart.
Seeing the Commander fall, Ailock finally breathed a long sigh of relief; today’s danger was ultimately averted.
About ten minutes later, a squad rushed in holding guns.
Ailock was startled almost jumping, but relaxed seeing it was Commander number Three and several other Commanders.
"Sorry, number One, we arrived late," Commander number Seven said, seeing the others lying on the floor.
Ailock knew he was safe, pointed at those lying, and said, "These are rebels; arrest all their contacts, not one slip."
"Yes," everyone responded in unison.
Ailock stood there, his eyes glinted coldly, his face coldly chilling.
His secretary served him for three years, yet turned out to be their man, which pained him deeply.
In his circle, he trusted the secretary most, even more than his wife; yet this outcome was unexpected.
Regarding the Commander, Ailock had never liked him and planned to remove him after dealing with Rolaff.
Unexpectedly, the kid sided with Rolaff and nearly cornered him today.
His words to the Commander were all deceit; the situation was urgent, he had to stabilize him.
Surprised by how easily tricked, the young fool killed himself here.
"Number One, where has number Two gone?" Commander number Three asked respectfully.
Ailock remembered Rolaff, then frowned, "Rolaff betrayed the nation, tried to assassinate me, and has been rescued. Find him immediately."
"Yes, we’ll search," Commander number Three agreed urgently.
It had crossed their minds, but from Ailock’s mouth, it condemned Rolaff further, rendering him unable to recover.
Ailock had suspicions about Xiang Yu too; if removal was feasible, he would not hesitate.
"Brother Yu, the Presidential Palace is surrounded by other troops now; I believe Ailock is safe. Let’s send him back," Tie Zhuzi said from the car.
Xiang Yu looked towards the Palace, surrounded heavily from both sky and ground.
"No need, let’s first leave; we’ll discuss once safe," Xiang Yu said.
After speaking, he held the radio, "Wu Jing, withdraw quickly, don’t linger."
"Got it, Brother Yu, we’re retreating," Wu Jing responded sharply...
