Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 689 Xiang Yu Assassinated to Death
Chapter 689: Chapter 689 Xiang Yu Assassinated to Death
"Why didn’t you say that earlier? Since we’re sure it was them, let’s go kill him," Tie Zhuzi said angrily.
"Don’t get agitated. We’re outnumbered right now; we’d definitely be at a disadvantage if we go now," Wu Jing said.
They hadn’t called many brothers because they came in a rush, just twenty men from the Dragon Team. Their opponents, however, had at least a hundred men. But not all of these hundred were fighters, many were clearly office workers.
"What are we waiting for then?" Tie Zhuzi said as he took out his phone intending to call Wang Ze, knowing that once his brothers arrived, they could take down these people in minutes.
Wu Jing had Tie Zhuzi and the others find a place to hide first, while he took two men to gather information. He wanted to find out how Dong Ze had died.
After receiving Tie Zhuzi’s call, Wang Ze issued an order for all brothers to gather at Tie Zhuzi’s location.
Under Xiang Yu, the brothers from just the Dragon Team numbered in the hundreds, not to mention those who hadn’t joined the Dragon Team or undergone training, adding up to several hundred more. They all gathered from different corners of the city to Tie Zhuzi’s location.
In their eyes, Xiang Yu was a big brother figure. The audacity of anyone to mess with Xiang Yu spelled a death wish.
On Mu Bai’s side, he knelt in front of Dong Ze’s coffin in white clothes, tears streaming uncontrollably down his face. He was genuinely heartbroken. The old man was about to leave and enjoy life, but now...
He blamed himself, hating that he was useless, for not protecting Dong Ze.
"Big brother, something seems off. They must suspect us," someone beside Mu Bai said at that moment.
Mu Bai’s eyes were bloodshot as he glared fiercely at the man and said, "What can we do if we know? When they come, we’ll fight them."
Seeing Mu Bai like this, the man could only sigh and shake his head, knowing their own capabilities were no match for Xiang Yu’s group. Perhaps that was why Dong Ze hadn’t chosen Mu Bai to take over as leader.
Han Dong overheard Mu Bai’s words, then gave Wang Huisheng a look, signaling him to get ready quickly.
Wang Huisheng’s eyes darted around, then he walked away.
Xiang Yu was hung in a dark room, having just been whipped several times, which left a burning pain on his body that prevented him from sleeping. He quietly listened to his surroundings, sensing there was only one guard near the front. Since he couldn’t see the person in the dark, the guard definitely couldn’t see him either.
Xiang Yu’s hands were tied, but he forcefully inverted his body. He clamped the rope tightly with his feet and used his teeth to gradually untie the ropes around his hands.
He carefully landed on the floor and moved forward. Reaching the front, he turned on the light to find a man asleep on the floor.
Xiang Yu kicked him and said, "How can you sleep while on duty?"
The man quickly woke up, then scrambled up in a panic and said, "I’m sorry, I was just too sleepy."
The man stared at Xiang Yu for a while, not recognizing him at first as he pondered which part of the brotherhood this man belonged to.
"You don’t recognize me so soon? Wow, you really have a pig’s brain," Xiang Yu said disdainfully.
"You are..." the man finally caught on, but was knocked unconscious by Xiang Yu with a chop to the neck.
Xiang Yu dragged him and hanged him on the rope from earlier, then nodded in satisfaction.
Just as Xiang Yu was about to leave, he suddenly heard someone approaching. He quickly shut the door and hid behind it, ready to knock the person out the moment they entered, leaving no chance for any commotion.
The footsteps were soft, not like normal walking but rather sneaky.
"Could it be that one of my brothers is coming to save me?" Xiang Yu couldn’t help but think to himself. However, from the footsteps, he couldn’t tell if it was one of his people.
The door slowly opened, and a dark figure appeared. The person cautiously moved forward; although the room was dark, they accurately went to the place where Xiang Yu had been bound earlier.
Without a word, the person pulled out a chilling dagger and chopped down at the person hanging there. The technique was precise—a single strike that cut through the man’s throat.
After succeeding, he quickly headed outside. Xiang Yu didn’t stop him; clearly, this was the person who had come to assassinate him. He cautiously followed, curious to see who wanted him dead.
Once outside, the assassin hurried back to another room and changed his clothes, then walked out calmly. It was clear that this person had a remarkably strong psychological makeup.
Xiang Yu cautiously went outside and hid in the shadows. It was chaotic outside, and being nighttime made it easy for Xiang Yu to avoid detection. Moreover, at this moment, nobody would suspect that Xiang Yu had managed to escape.
The assassin carefully approached a thin man and whispered something into his ear. The thin man nodded in approval.
This thin man was none other than Wang Huisheng. The first step of Wang Huisheng’s plan to kill Xiang Yu had been successful, and he hurriedly conveyed this news to Han Dong.
Since he had made up his mind to do it, Han Dong seemed to make a firm decision and then said, "Proceed with the second part of the plan. Make sure you handle it personally and do it flawlessly."
"Don’t worry, Brother Dong. I guarantee it will be done well," Wang Huisheng assured him before leaving.
Xiang Yu hid in the shadows and did not follow Wang Huisheng because he was certain that the mastermind behind the assassination was none other than Han Dong, kneeling there.
Xiang Yu searched his memory but couldn’t recall this character. Could it be that he had wronged him in the past or that he had another conspiracy?
Xiang Yu decided to wait and watch what this young man was up to.
After leaving, Wang Huisheng quietly found a car and drove away.
His mission was to find Xiang Yu’s brothers and deliver the tragic news to them. On the way, he rehearsed what to say and how to express himself when he met them.
But he hadn’t gone far when he saw many vehicles parked along the roadside. A large crowd blocked the road, yet despite their numbers, they made no noise. They just stood there as if waiting for an order.
The cars behind stretched out of sight. Seeing this, Wang Huisheng was somewhat stunned. What was going on? Why had so many people suddenly appeared here?
This place was quite remote, seldom frequented by people, and perhaps not even a single car passed by in a day, but today...
Stupefied, Wang Huisheng watched the scene, unsure whether to ask them to make way or to reroute and take a longer detour.
Little did he know that every road leading here was the same, already sealed off...
