Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 695: Zhang Dongxu’s Fate Unknown
Chapter 695: Chapter 695: Zhang Dongxu’s Fate Unknown
Mu Bai stood somewhat awkwardly in front of Xiang Yu; after all, he had previously held prejudices against him and had even captured him, wanting to seek revenge for Dong Ze. But now, it was Xiang Yu who had saved him.
"How did you know that our boss was killed by Han Dong?" Mu Bai asked.
"I was just kidding," Xiang Yu replied with an indifferent smile.
"What?" Mu Bai stared with wide eyes and an open mouth, somewhat incredulous.
The way Xiang Yu acted earlier didn’t seem like he was lying; he spoke as if it were the truth.
"Your boss wasn’t killed by him; he doesn’t have the guts," Xiang Yu suddenly said, frowning.
"You..." Mu Bai stood there, unable to speak for a while. He had thought that he could finally kill the murderer and avenge his boss, but now Xiang Yu was saying that it wasn’t Han Dong.
"Then who was it?" Mu Bai finally steadied himself and asked.
"I don’t know," Xiang Yu suddenly replied, curling his lips.
"You..." Mu Bai was completely at a loss for words with Xiang Yu; he hadn’t realized such people existed in the world.
He had just met Xiang Yu and hadn’t figured out his character yet, but Tie Zhuzi and the others who were with him were already used to it and thought nothing of it.
"What do you plan to do with Han Dong and his companion?" Xiang Yu suddenly asked.
After thinking for a while, Mu Bai sighed and said, "I was planning on killing them both, but since they aren’t the killers of our boss, let’s let them go, after all, we were brothers once."
As he spoke, Mu Bai felt a bit melancholic; he never imagined that his former brothers would have turned into what they were now.
Xiang Yu just smiled and didn’t offer any advice, then said he was leaving and turned around to go.
"Xiang Yu," Mu Bai suddenly called out to him, "Thanks for that stone earlier."
Just moments before, when Mu Bai had thought about suicide, Xiang Yu had thrown a stone and saved his life. Others didn’t know, but Mu Bai had been guessing who this person could be.
At that time, apart from his brothers, no one would have wanted to save him. Moreover, none of his brothers had such skills. The only answer was that it was Xiang Yu, and seeing him now with such a calm smile, he was certain of it.
Xiang Yu didn’t stay much longer, then got in the car and left.
A group of people, with hundreds of cars, left the place in a grand and impressive manner, looking from above, like a long dragon.
All the way, Tie Zhuzi hummed a little tune, in a very good mood.
"Brother Yu, I just knew you’d be fine," Tie Zhuzi boasted proudly.
"Get out of here, you were almost crying just now," Wu Jing, sitting in the front, suddenly laughed.
Tie Zhuzi pursed his lips and said no more. Xiang Yu took out his phone to call Wang Ze, asking him to have the brothers go back on their own.
Wu Jing then looked at Xiang Yu and said, "Brother Yu, are we just going to leave Mu Bai and his people alone?"
Xiang Yu replied with an easy smile, "He’ll come to us when it’s time; no need to worry."
Neither Wu Jing nor Tie Zhuzi understood where Xiang Yu’s confidence came from, but both nodded, believing that whatever Xiang Yu said must be right.
"So who actually killed Old Dong Ze?" Tie Zhuzi asked, very puzzled.
"It was Evil God and his crew," Xiang Yu stated firmly.
Wu Jing and Tie Zhuzi both turned their heads to look at Xiang Yu; just moments ago, he had said he didn’t know, but it turned out he didn’t want Mu Bai to know about Evil God’s involvement.
The organization known as Evil God was too vast, beyond what Mu Bai and his team could reach. Telling them the truth would only endanger them.
At this point, the three of them fell silent. Evil God was like a mountain looming before them. How powerful the adversary truly was, Xiang Yu had no idea. Fortunately, now that Feng Lan had become one of their own, she would be able to provide them with some information when the time came.
Thinking this, Xiang Yu took out his cell phone and dialed Feng Lan.
By then, Feng Lan had finished her nightly routine and was lying in her bed thinking about Xiang Yu, unable to banish from her mind his every move, every smile. The phone rang, and she instinctively thought it was a mission call. Only when she picked it up and saw who it was did she sit up, a rush of excitement surging through her.
She took a deep breath and then said rather irritably, "You still remember me, huh? Calling so late, what’s up?"
"Nothing much, just missing you," Xiang Yu teased.
Hearing this, Feng Lan felt a delightful sensation in her heart, but she knew Xiang Yu was just talking nonsense.
"If it’s nothing, I’m hanging up," said Feng Lan.
Xiang Yu quickly coughed twice and then said, "Actually, I do have a matter to discuss. Have they made any moves recently?"
The ’they’ Xiang Yu referred to was naturally Evil God.
By now, Xiang Yu and Evil God were sworn enemies. He had to keep an eye on every move Evil God made. The recent assassination attempt on Dong Ze was surely one of the opponent’s ploys to create chaos and gauge their reaction.
"Everything about targeting you has been handed over to District Boss Wu Chenghui; he has always had it in for me, so I rarely know about their movements. But I’ve heard recently that he might have sent some assassins to look for you. Be careful," Feng Lan said worriedly.
"Understood, let me know immediately if there’s any action," Xiang Yu finished and was about to hang up.
Just then, an unhappy voice came from the other end of the line, "Why should I tell you? I’m not your subordinate."
Xiang Yu could only chuckle and reply, "Aren’t we on good terms?"
"Who’s on good terms with you? Don’t flatter yourself," Feng Lan retorted irritably.
Xiang Yu was left speechless. Women’s matters always baffled him. Women truly were strange creatures, not only contradictory but also fond of speaking in opposites.
There was a moment of silence between them, filling the air with a slightly awkward vibe.
"So, should I hang up now?" Xiang Yu finally asked.
But just as he finished speaking, the line went dead with a beep, clearly Feng Lan had already hung up first.
Wu Jing and Tie Zhuzi, sitting in front, pretended not to notice, focusing intently ahead.
"Don’t pretend," Xiang Yu said from the back, rather helplessly.
Unable to hold back any longer, Wu Jing and Tie Zhuzi both burst out laughing. It had to be said that everyone has their own nemesis. Xiang Yu, mighty as he was in the underworld, seemed somewhat helpless when it came to women.
Just as the three of them were about to head upstairs at the hotel, Xiang Yu’s phone rang. It was a call from Xiao Xuan.
Xiang Yu had been waiting for this call for a long time, his main concern now was Xiao Xuan’s safety.
"How is it going?" Xiang Yu asked first.
"Brother, Zhang Dongxu is severely injured. He was shot twice and rolled down from the hill. He’s barely breathing now," Xiao Xuan said nervously, having clearly just experienced a fierce battle.
"Stay there and don’t move, I’m coming right away," Xiang Yu said swiftly.
Xiao Xuan hummed in acknowledgment, then sent his exact location to Xiang Yu. Xiang Yu immediately called Liu Yuhang, "One of our brothers has been shot and he’s fallen down a hillside. I’m outside the hotel right now, call a few guys and bring the gear, come with me right away."
When Liu Yuhang received Xiang Yu’s call, he had just drifted off to sleep and was still groggy from sleep when he heard Xiang Yu’s voice...
