Chapter 699: Chapter 699: Mu Bai’s Life and Death Moment

Mu Bai tried to be extremely careful, but the surroundings were too dark, and he accidentally kicked a bottle that might just have been the biggest turning point of his life.

The sound of the bottle hitting the ground in the silent night was piercing. Mu Bai froze, hoping the people around him were asleep and hadn’t heard the noise.

But that was just self-deception.

"Who is it? Who’s there?"

Suddenly, several voices rang out. Mu Bai didn’t have time to identify whose voices they were before he turned to run. Regardless, it seemed this rescue mission had failed.

Even with a sliver of hope of escaping, he would not let it pass. As long as there’s life, there’s hope.

At that moment, someone turned on the room’s light. The blinding bright light made it hard to keep his eyes open, and Mu Bai almost ran into the wall.

"Big Brother."

At that moment, several people cried out simultaneously, and Mu Bai couldn’t help but turn around to look. He was stunned by what he saw. Several of his brothers stood there, and a person was tied up not far from them.

"Are they also traitors?" This thought flashed through Mu Bai’s mind, but he immediately dismissed it.

That was simply not possible; these men were his comrades in life and death, they would never betray him. So what was going on?

Unable to resist, Mu Bai looked toward the corner, and his heart leaped with joy upon seeing who was tied up—it was none other than Han Dong. At that moment, he almost jumped for joy.

He truly felt as if he was on the brink of life and death. The dagger fell to the ground, and he suddenly laughed, a very happy laugh.

The people in front also laughed, knowing Mu Bai had come to rescue them. Coming alone, this gesture was touching enough to be remembered for a lifetime.

Several people rushed over and embraced, then burst out laughing. This was true brotherhood; these were comrades in life and death.

Mu Bai sat down with a few people and then asked, "What happened, how did you escape?"

One of them smiled and said, "At that time, we also didn’t know why, but we were tied up here when suddenly Han Dong’s men rushed in and untied us. Then they tied up Han Dong and brought him in. We were confused and thought you had brought people to rescue us."

"What happened after that?" Mu Bai couldn’t help but ask curiously.

"After that, all of Han Dong’s men knelt on the ground, begging us to spare them and promising never to engage in the underworld again, and never to trouble us. Then they got up and ran away. We found out later that someone from the Heavenly Dragon Gang named Tie Zhuzi had spread word that Big Brother was their brother, and that anyone who dared to mess with him would have their entire family killed. It was because of that statement that Han Dong’s men were terrified, which led to the situation we’re in now."

The men were all emotional; if it hadn’t been for Tie Zhuzi, they probably would have been finished.

"Big Brother, what exactly is your relationship with that Tie Zhuzi?" one of them asked.

Mu Bai gave an awkward smile, shook his head, and did not speak. He knew this must have been Xiang Yu’s arrangement.

"What about him?" one of them pointed towards Han Dong.

With Tie Zhuzi’s words now, it seemed Han Dong couldn’t stir up much trouble anymore.

"Find an accident for him, let him make his way to hell," Mu Bai said venomously as he looked at Han Dong.

He had given Han Dong a chance, but Han Dong hadn’t seized it well, and that couldn’t be blamed on him.

Han Dong was scared out of his wits when he heard that, and hurriedly rolled over trying to plead for mercy. However, just as he rolled close to Mu Bai, Mu Bai kicked him away. He would never give his opponent a second chance to kill him.

Mu Bai gave some instructions and then returned to his room. By now, his room was a complete mess, and he guessed that anything valuable had probably been looted.

Sitting on the bed, Mu Bai took out his phone and called Xiang Yu. He wanted to thank Xiang Yu, but after the phone rang twice, he suddenly heard a crackling sound, followed by the delightful voice of customer service mentioning "The person you are calling is currently unavailable."

It was only then that he checked the time and saw it was already two in the morning. He couldn’t help but laugh at himself, then he put away his phone and lay down on the bed, quickly falling asleep.

Xiang Yu slept through wild and chaotic dreams and when he woke up, it was already nine in the morning. He meant to check the time on his phone, only to find his phone had fallen to the floor and shattered.

Lying in bed for a while, Xiang Yu suddenly found himself missing Qin Wen. Specifically, he missed her soft chest. He regretted not having "done some activities" with Qin Wen the last time, though he was glad there would still be chances in the future.

After daydreaming for a bit, Xiang Yu finally got up, freshened up, and went to his office. Tie Zhuzi and a few others were already waiting there.

Seeing Xiang Yu come out, they all looked at him expectantly.

"What’s up?" Xiang Yu asked, puzzled.

"Big brother, didn’t you say we’re going to Wolong Villa today? The furniture there has already been arranged, just like here," Wang Ze hurriedly said.

It then dawned on Xiang Yu, who waved his hand and said, "Let’s go, set off and take a look there."

After Xiang Yu spoke, he prepared to leave, but noticing that everyone was still standing there, he asked curiously, "Anything else?"

Tie Zhuzi then looked at Xiang Yu with a mischievous smile and said, "Brother Yu, Sister Long Wu just said to wait a moment for her, she’ll be here soon."

Xiang Yu felt a bit dizzy and waved his hand again, "She’s coming too? Let’s hurry up."

No sooner had Xiang Yu finished his words than the faces of Tie Zhuzi and the others turned green. They were snickering with their heads down, and Xiang Yu frowned, asking, "What’s with you guys today? Why are you acting so weird?"

After saying this, he turned back and saw Long Wu’s murderous gaze staring at him.

Xiang Yu, unfazed, smiled and said, "You finally arrived, I was just thinking of coming to pick you up. Since everyone is here, let’s set off."

Xiang Yu said this and hurried outside. Seeing all this, Long Wu couldn’t help but laugh despite her cold expression. She really didn’t know what to do with Xiang Yu; it was a mix of love and hate.

Wolong Villa was named by Xiang Yu, and although it was smaller than ordinary residential complexes, it was plenty big for them. It housed about a dozen villas and all were situated at the corner of the mountain’s foothills, appealingly located.

Xiang Yu chose a villa in the middle as the office and selected a spot near the hillside for his own room. After Xiang Yu made his selection, everyone looked at Long Wu.

Long Wu initially wanted to say she would stay in the same villa as Xiang Yu, but felt that might not be a good idea. So, she chose a villa closest to Xiang Yu’s.

After Long Wu made her choice, Tie Zhuzi immediately picked a suite as well, selecting the one that was farthest from Xiang Yu. The implication was quite clear; he definitely didn’t want to be disturbed by Long Wu waking him up in the morning.

The other few people thought the same as Tie Zhuzi and also chose their own houses.

Long Wu glared at them fiercely, but didn’t say anything; it was better this way, to prevent them from bothering her and Xiang Yu.

Just as everyone had finished choosing their houses, Xiang Yu’s phone rang. It was Feng Lan calling...
