Chapter 765: Chapter 765: Chaotic Battle Scene

When the clock struck six, Liu Lianyu arrived at the cemetery. At the same time, Wu Jing began to make his move, leading his brothers to slowly charge toward a small hill ahead.

Atop the hill, Li Xiaohuan was thrilled to see Xiang Yu and his men finally in action, dancing joyfully as he had been waiting for this moment for a whole day. During that day, he had endured the stench of urine, lying there which drove him to madness.

"Everyone, get ready," Li Xiaohuan shouted excitedly.

If today he could eliminate Xiang Yu, his status within Evil God would skyrocket. Currently, he controlled most of the brothers in Evil God, which made his heart swell with pride.

Wu Jing led the convoy close to the hill, stopping about fifty meters away from its base. He then arranged the vehicles abreast, blocking the front of the hill.

Immediately, everyone alighted from the vehicles, weapons in hand.

Li Xiaohuan stood on the hilltop looking down, puzzled at this point. The opposition was in an attack posture; it seemed he had been exposed.

But he couldn’t understand why Xiang Yu with so few men thought they could clash head-on with him. Moreover, his side had the geographical advantage—it was a suicidal move.

Xiang Yu was known to be astute, but if that was all he could muster, then he was a complete fool.

By that time, the clouds overhead had thickened and the wind had begun to blow. The surrounding air felt oppressively heavy.

Standing on the hill, Li Xiaohuan could only see the crowd below moving about, unable to make out anyone’s face, though he presumed Xiang Yu was among them.

"Everyone, prepare to ascend the hill," Wu Jing called out, then he began walking forward with his gun.

The others were also ready and marched bravely up the hill. The hill was small, but covered in dense forests, making it impossible to see the interior.

Seeing this, Li Xiaohuan laughed openly at the top, so hearty was his laughter that he doubled over.

"Xiang Yu, Xiang Yu, I held you in such esteem, yet I had no idea you were this kind of man," Li Xiaohuan said, then led his men to prepare an ambush on the hill.

As soon as the confrontation started, they would open fire. They had the upper hand being familiar with the environment and positioned above; even if his men were fewer than Xiang Yu’s, the terrain would favor their victory.

Under Li Xiaohuan’s influence, the members of Evil God also began to beam with smiles. They predicted this battle would be settled quickly.

Meanwhile, Wu Jing and his men approached the hill cautiously. After walking a few dozen meters, Wu Jing suddenly issued the order to fire.

In fact, they hadn’t seen anyone; they simply started shooting.

The brothers of Sky Dragon Squad were well-armed, equipped with pistols, daggers, and carrying assault rifles. Upon hearing the command, they didn’t hesitate and began a sweeping fire up the hill.

They were firing while advancing. In the dark of night, a row of fire serpents lit up. The dense rain of bullets shot toward the hill, many bullets piercing the trees, creating large holes.

Even though Wu Jing and his men hadn’t seen anyone, the bullets inadvertently hit some of Evil God’s members.

Accompanied by cries of pain from the hill, more shouts followed soon after.

Li Xiaohuan realized that he was completely exposed. Annoyed that the opposition had fired directly, something he hadn’t anticipated; he had plans to ambush them, yet they struck first.

"Shoot, shoot them hard." Li Xiaohuan was starting to lose his composure.

Although he had a geographical advantage on the mountain, he could not see and could only shoot randomly towards the bottom. The core strength of the Evil God was all here, and upon Li Xiaohuan’s command, several hundred people quickly appeared on top of the mountain.

They had pistols and submachine guns, of various models. These people all belonged to the four major areas, and many did not know each other; they only followed the commands of Li Xiaohuan now.

Moreover, there was a sense of competition among them, with District One not wanting to fall behind District Two, and District Two even less willing to be outdone.

"Brothers from District One, shoot for me," one of them yelled, and everyone from District One began shouting and shooting, followed by District Two, then District Three and Four; they had all gone mad.

There were too many people and the bullets were too dense; the entire hillside lit up as if it were daylight.

They were only focused on shooting downwards, but they overlooked one thing—there seemed to be no movement below.

At that moment, Wu Jing had already led all his brothers to run down the mountain and hide behind a vehicle, where a group of them were changing their ammunition. They had plenty of bullets, not worrying about an ammo shortage.

Seeing the ruckus above, Wu Jing could not help but smile.

This was the disadvantage of the Evil God; despite their numbers, there was no unity. People from the four districts did not know each other, and their leaders were not present. This led to the brothers below having direct contact with the overall commander.

In the beginning, it was fine, as they all listened to Li Xiaohuan, accepting his commands. But when the real fight started, Li Xiaohuan became isolated.

No one listened to him anymore, no one accepted their orders.

All the people from the four districts went crazy, as if the one who shot the most bullets was the most formidable.

Li Xiaohuan had realized something was not right; all the gunfire was coming from their side, and there was no movement below.

"Everyone stop shooting. Stop," Li Xiaohuan yelled loudly.

But his voice was too feeble, and nobody heard him; even those nearby who heard his shout and stopped firing saw the others continuing, and out of unease, joined back into the fray.

"Everybody fucking stop," Li Xiaohuan yelled again, then fired two shots into the air with his pistol.

But his two shots were merely part of the numerous sounds of gunfire and went unnoticed. While two shots in a quiet moment might have intimidated the crowd, at this time, his shots were as ineffective as a mosquito’s buzz.

The people around kept firing wildly, their eyes bloodshot, not even looking downwards but just firing away.

Wu Jing, hiding below, initially thought the other side would stop shooting after a while, but to his surprise, they kept on firing relentlessly. The situation was easier than he had anticipated.

He shook his head in resignation, sighing to himself, sometimes having more people is not necessarily an advantage; it could lead to greater disorganization, which was the case now.

Although the numbers of the Sky Dragon Squad were not large, they had all undergone professional training and were personally trained by Wu Jing. A glance or a move from Wu Jing told them all they needed to know.

Perhaps, this is why Xiang Yu had Wu Jing command this battle.

On the mountain, Li Xiaohuan could not stand it any longer, then grabbed the person next to him and blew his head off with a single shot...
