Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 947: Engaging in Firefight with Terrorists
Chapter 947: Chapter 947: Engaging in Firefight with Terrorists
Several police officers sat in the car with their eyes closed to avoid letting their emotions affect them. Yet, the explosive scene from earlier continued to replay in their minds, no matter how hard they tried to shut it out.
One of the younger officers couldn’t help but steal a glimpse by opening his eyes, wanting to study the movements in detail. But by the time he looked, the targets had already vanished.
They quickly called Gao Zhitao, and Xiang Yu answered the phone.
The officer apologized guiltily, "Report, Captain. Both foreign suspects have disappeared—it’s a mistake on our part."
"Stay where you are. Don’t move. Keep observing the surroundings," Xiang Yu instructed.
After all, the opposing side was a notorious terrorist organization. Sending regular police officers to face them was undoubtedly a struggle.
Right after hanging up, Xiaoxuan called in.
"They’re hiding in a room at the end of the alley. Judging by their furtive behavior, they’re definitely suspicious," Xiaoxuan reported.
At this moment, Xiaoxuan stood atop the tallest building in the area, holding a night-vision scope and scanning everything around.
As a trained sniper, Xiaoxuan was adept at this kind of work—it all came naturally to him.
Sure enough, from the room at the alley’s end, a woman’s voice suddenly echoed in English.
"Have we been overthinking it? They didn’t really follow us," the woman remarked.
"Better safe than sorry. Earlier, I clearly saw a flash from the car behind us—it must’ve been someone," the man replied, then wrapped an arm around the woman’s waist, resuming his activities.
Half an hour passed. By now, it was already 10:30 PM. The last train was at 11:00 PM, meaning the train station was packed with people.
Xiang Yu switched perspectives mentally. If he were the terrorist, he’d undoubtedly strike now.
Thinking this through, Xiang Yu called the leaders of four separate teams, instructing them to warn their members to stay alert. "Eyes wide open—terrorists are about to make their move."
Just as Xiang Yu finished issuing his orders, the couple emerged from the room.
Seeing them, the officers in the car instantly perked up, growing deeply impressed with Xiang Yu’s judgment. Staying put had indeed been the right call.
Xiaoxuan continued observing the scene from his vantage point. Suddenly, he noticed a shadow darting across the rooftop ahead.
To ensure safety, Xiaoxuan immediately crouched down and carefully peered toward the roof. He wasn’t entirely sure about what he’d seen—it was just a fleeting moment.
Scrutinizing the rooftop again, he found nothing. Only darkness enveloped the area.
Xiaoxuan stayed low, contacted Xiang Yu, and reported the situation.
Trusting Xiaoxuan’s instincts, Xiang Yu replied, "Hold tight. Don’t expose yourself—I’ll handle it."
With a solemn expression, Xiang Yu turned to Tie Zhuzi. "Make sure to protect him. I’ll be back soon."
Equally serious, Tie Zhuzi nodded and assured, "Don’t worry, Brother Yu. No one’s touching him with me here."
"Can you both stop treating me like I’m helpless? What am I—a useless lump? If they dare come at me, I’ll bite them to death," Gao Zhitao retorted, pursing his lips.
The situation was critical, and Xiang Yu ignored him, swiftly exiting the car and heading for the building.
Xiang Yu moved quickly, with such precision that no ordinary person could detect him.
Meanwhile, Xiaoxuan crouched behind the rooftop, paying close attention to the opposite building. From his perspective, he saw shadows flicker through the small windows between floors.
Recognizing the shadow as Xiang Yu’s, Xiaoxuan couldn’t help but marvel at his speed. If Xiang Yu had been an assassin, no one would stand a chance.
Reaching the rooftop, Xiang Yu paused to listen for signs but heard nothing suspicious.
He crouched stealthily, scanning the surroundings. In a distant corner, behind a small shack-like structure, a shadow remained motionless.
Had Xiang Yu not been prepared, he would’ve missed this figure entirely. Xiaoxuan’s judgment had been on the mark—this person was a master of disguise.
After briefly assessing the situation, Xiang Yu crouched back down, taking a deep breath. A gleaming dagger was already in his hand.
In the dark night, the dagger’s chilling glint added a bone-chilling tension to the atmosphere.
Counting silently, Xiang Yu murmured, "Three... Two... One." Suddenly, he charged forward and hurled the dagger at the target.
The shadow moved quickly, reacting as soon as he detected the attack, darting to the side in an attempt to evade.
Yet, amidst the darkness, he saw a flash of light darting right at him—a light so swift he had no chance to escape.
As he stumbled backward, the shining blade struck squarely at his neck.
Feeling an icy sensation at his throat, he found himself unable to speak. Blood gushed relentlessly from the wound.
By then, Xiang Yu had already reached him. Not bothering to look at the man, Xiang Yu wordlessly pulled his dagger from the neck and surveyed his surroundings vigilantly.
The man, unwilling to die, stared at Xiang Yu, hoping for just a glance. But Xiang Yu treated him like air, paying him no mind whatsoever.
Even in his final moments, as death claimed him, the man couldn’t understand why Xiang Yu was so cold. To him, killing him seemed no different than swatting a fly or breaking a twig.
This man—once proud of his countless kills as an assassin in the Falcon Organization—thought himself cold and ruthless. But face-to-face with Xiang Yu, he realized there were people in the world who could be far colder.
After eliminating the threat, Xiang Yu scanned the surroundings once again before swiftly heading downstairs.
From his position, Xiaoxuan continued keeping watch. Witnessing Xiang Yu’s precise and ruthless actions, he couldn’t suppress a shiver down his spine.
Had he been the one on the rooftop facing Xiang Yu, he knew he wouldn’t have been able to evade that sharp dagger.
Racing downstairs, Xiang Yu suddenly found their car missing.
A wave of anxiety gripped him as he promptly phoned Xiaoxuan.
With Xiaoxuan positioned as a lookout, he should’ve noticed anything unusual.
"Where did Zhuzi’s vehicle go?" Xiang Yu asked directly.
"I saw them heading toward the third street—they’re out of my sight now," Xiaoxuan answered immediately.
After acknowledging the information, Xiang Yu quickly ended the call. Just then, his phone rang again—it was the officer stationed earlier calling him.
"Report, Captain. That pair of bastards just walked into the station," the officer relayed nervously, tinged with excitement.
Xiang Yu’s mind raced—the enemy was likely preparing to act.
"Keep observing the surroundings. Leave those two to me," Xiang Yu instructed hurriedly, wasting no time looking for Tie Zhuzi and heading toward the station instead...
