Yujun’s POV

I look at Lord Hwang in surprise, Yubin looks worse, her iciness briefly gives way to shock before returning.

The proud female alpha looks like she can’t breathe as she looks at the tall man.

Lord Hwang rests against the table right next to me; without his alpha eyes, he holds my half-sister’s eyes while keeping his face expressionless.

"What?" Yubin asks quietly.

"That is a news that we have kept under wraps for a long time" the Lord says and hums quietly before he adds, "you are the first person outside of the clan to know"

"Lord Hwang...Choi Yujun-" Yubin noona starts to speak but is interrupted when the door opens and Yeon walks in with a scowl on his face.

The luna doesn’t regard any of us as he takes Lord Hwang’s seat like it is his self assigned throne.

"Lord Hwang, this is a bad idea, I came to help you get rid of the vermin" Yubin says, pointing at me with chilling disgust in her tone and posture.

I grip the edge of the table, forcing myself to stay calm as I realize...maybe I fear Yubin more than my father, the countless pills she has forced down my throat, the multiple bones she has broken, the sick pleasure she has in hurting me just for existing.

"This man is a curse, no man should be born an omega" she says and Yeon hums behind us.

"Ah, did I inform you that the rebel I dealt with was my own son?" Lord Hwang says and sighs before folding his arm across his chest, he doesn’t rage, doesn’t lose his temper or raise his voice, matching Yubin’s iciness with cool dominance.

"I saw it, I saw it all, but Lord Hwang, my proposition is-"

"That is to tell you, Choi Yubin, that if I refuse to spare my own son from punishment..." he says and pauses, controlling the room even in his silence.

"You would not like to find out what I will do to whoever touches this omega on my territory" Lord Hwang continues and I freeze completely.

He is...protecting me?

"Lord Hwang, reconsider, I am good at bringing good deals, siding with me is building a future" Yubin says, she doesn’t panic, she meets him with iciness, certain that she can change his mind.

I am taken back again to when we were little and how many times she had successfully blamed things on me, how many times she had beaten me and still had me punished for it, always having the power to convince people.

I look at Lord Hwang, hoping that he doesn’t fall for her.

The head Alpha holds out his hand behind him and Yeon places a small gun in his hand, he examines the gun in silence, and I see the shift in my half sister’s expression, she knows now that she’s being threatened.

"All this...for a piece of cursed omega?" she asks, her eyes are turning red again, she is starting to lose her composure.

"Hwang Jaehyun is no longer the Lord to be of this clan, Yujun is, is that plain enough?" he asks and cocks the gun, "unbelievable" Yubin whispers.

"An attack on Choi Yujun is an attack on the entire Hwang clan" he says.

"And an attack on the mother of my grandchild is a death wish, do you understand?" he adds and Yubin nods twice, "I see, you are really willing to destroy everything, did you sleep with him too?" she asks and a knife goes flying into the door.

Yubin gasps as the knife leaves a cut on her cheek.

"What the..." Yubin growls and holds the bleeding spot, "too bad my Lord is such a calm alpha" Yeon says from his seat, his face is resting on his palm and his eyes blue, the knife throw was his doing.

"An omega?" Yubin says under her breath and Yeon crosses his leg.

"Look at me properly, I am an omega man, the luna of this pack, and the mother of Hwang Jaehyun" he says and with each word, Yubin stumbles backwards.

"The Luna of this pack is a male omega...the next in line is a male omega too?" she says to herself, "I’m going to crush you all like bugs" she whispers.

Lord Hwang gets up from the table to stand behind his husband, a silent show of power.

"You’re welcome to crush us" Yeon says and my body moves me to stand with them, and I boldly link my arms with Lord Hwang, the alpha looks down at me and gives me a warm smile, patting my hand in encouragement.

"You will pay for putting a mark on me" Yubin says and hisses at the Luna.

"Then I will gladly add another, make the pay worth it" Yeon mom says, keeping his eyes blue, challenging the female alpha as she turns around to leave the room seething.

My legs give out and my body sags as soon as she slams the door behind her.

"It’s okay, come sit" Yeon mom says and gets out of the chair to help me into it, my body is shaking from the tension.

"Are you okay?" Lord Hwang asks me and I nod.

"I’m sorry...my family..."

"Don’t apologize" Yeon says immediately.

"Those people are not what family is, you shouldn’t apologize for them" he says and I bow my head tiredly.

First it was my father invading Hwangyeon, then my mother coming to throw a tantrum, now it’s Yubin...what will they do next?

"I scared you, didn’t I? I’m sorry child" Lord Hwang apologizes to me and looks at his husband, "I’m sorry my love" he says and Yeon huffs before grabbing him by his collar.

"Try something like this with my pups again and you will sleep on the couch for days" he says and Lord Hwang presses a kiss at the side of his hand, "never again" he says and Yeon lets him go, looking at him with so much love that it hurts my heart.

"L-lord Hwang" I call and he looks at me with a raised brow, "what about Jaehyun? Will you let him go now?" I ask and he shakes his head.

"He still has to answer for his crime" he says and I look at Yeon to do something about it.

"He killed an elder" Lord Hwang says and Yeon nods, "Jaehyun is reckless, but he will never do anything like that without reason" he says. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"I know, this will be our way to weed the clan, Yujun-ah, just sit back and relax, we will protect you" Lord Hwang says.

He doesn’t smile, he doesn’t change his tone, but I see it in his eyes...he means it.

I didn’t think wrong after all...the Hwang clan is a safe place.

Speaking of safe...where are Yunah and Gawon?
