Yujun’s POV

Eleven months later

The evening is fading into night, the smell of nature and the noise of clan pups playing sounds comforting.

"Lord Yujun" a clan beta waves from afar and I wave back with a small smile, keeping my focus on the paper on my lap.

The rush of water from the new fountain sounds soothing as I sit near it with my file of papers and pen.

Today was especially busy, I have two clans paperwork to attend to, the fate of the different packs sit in my hand in black ink and white papers.

’I want to be like Hwang Yujun’ a pup once said today, I found a new home for them and they have the chance to start a new life.

My hair keeps falling into my face and I brush it back with the back of my hand and the cold metal band of my wedding ring brushes my face.

I hear footsteps and my head snaps up.

"Mama! Mama!" Haeri’s little voice screams as she runs to me on little legs with her dad following behind her.

My daughter is one year old and the most precious little pup ever, her hair is slowly changing from black to grey and in no time, I’m sure she’s going to have white hair like mine

"Mama!" she screams louder when I don’t give her a response.

"What now?" I groan playfully, already knowing that Jaehyun misses me.

Jaehyun has a sly smile on his face as he approaches me with Haeri, "what?" he asks and sits next to me on the bench, flicking my forehead with his finger.

"I’ll bite it off" I threaten him, putting the documents on his lap and leaning forward to pick up Haeri.

My pup lets out the most delightful squeal as I nose at her scent gland, a habit I formed from a trauma.

My mother never scented me as a child, she was always hiding away to make sure I turn out to be the best alpha...yet here I am.

"Hi my baby" I coo at her and she pushes herself away.

"Mama, flower, you" she says and holds up a rose that is half alive and half crushed, the smile on her face is stunning as she waves it in my face.

"Wow, Haeri-ah, this is beautiful" I say and kiss her on the cheek, and she points at her dad too, "kiss kiss" she says and I roll my eyes before kissing Jaehyun on the cheek.

"I knew I’d get that kiss" he smirks and I raise my hand in a fake punch, "how long will you remain like this, you simp?" I say to him and he takes Haeri from my lap to his.

"Hmm...let’s see, as long as I have the most beautiful omega next to me, really it’s not that hard" he says, making me shake my head slowly.

The butterflies he gives me are not going anyway are they?

The alpha puts his hand around my waist, and nose at my neck as Haeri gets carried away, playing with her dad’s shirt.

"Are you coming in soon? It’s late" he says softly, I lean in a breathe in his hair, "I need to get my hair cut, so does Haeri" Jaehyun says.

Yeon mom comes out of the house with a stern look on his face and I see the slipper in his hand.

"Oh shit" I whisper.

"Oh shit! Mama, oh shit" Haeri repeats and I slap my hand over her mouth, the look Jaehyun gives is funny and I know I am left on my know to be scolded.

"Red! let’s go!" my mate says and picks Haeri up, running away with her in his arms as Yeon comes after me.

"You" Yeon growls and I get up slowly, "mom...I can explain, I was about..."

"You, I told you, never place work over family!" he scolds and throws the soft slippers at me, "mom!" I yell and try to run away but he grabs my shirt and pulls me back.

"Don’t you know how important taking care of yourself is?" he says and I pout, "I’m almost done, I promise" I say in defense and he gives me a hug, "should I kidnap you again and force you to nest?" he asks and I shake my head but lean in to the hug.

"I’m sorry, I forgot for a bit" I say with a yawn, already feeling sleepy, "go rest, Gawon will take care of the rest" he says and pats the back of my head.

"Haeri already had dinner, Jaehyun says you’d like to have ramyeon together" he instructs and I sigh, oh ramyeon...the root of all evil.

"Now go, if I catch you working after work hours, you’ll be tied and thrown in with Seoyeon and the girls" he threatens and I act like I’m scared.

"Good night mom" I say and press a kiss to his cheek, the older man rubs his hand up and down my back before letting me go.

I put the papers together in the file and hand it to him before leaving.

Once I return to our room, I find Jaehyun sitting on our bed with that annoying smile on his face, he looks handsome and so frustrating at the same time.

"I put Haeri to bed" he says and I give him a glare as I take off my clothes, I’m too tired to wash up right now.

"You left me to mom" I say and he laughs softly, "well...I did warn you" he says and opens his arms for me to climb into the bed.

"Let’s wash up?" he offers and I shake my head, laying on top of him and burying my face in his neck.

My omega purrs as his alpha tugs on me through our bond.

Coming to bed to him is the best part of my day, I lift my head to kiss him on the lips, and the kiss is soft and sweet, a silent hello, I missed you.

"How would you feel if we had another pup, hmm?" Jaehyun asks when we break the kiss and I lift my weight off his chest to look down at him.

"Don’t you even dare" I say with a growl and he smiles sheepishly at me, "well...that’s a bit...how do I explain the milk scent-"
