Rudy jumped down from the roof and slumped back at his previous spot as he thought, ’As I had expected, she had a different reason to come here.’

’I wonder if she found what she was looking for.’

He closed his eyes and once again acted asleep.

A few minutes later.

Sera stepped inside the chamber, her eyes drifted towards Rudy, and she heaved a relieved sigh before sitting in the corner opposite to him.

Following her, after a minute or two, Kalien also reached the chamber and muttered while peeking inside, "Miss Sera, can I please come in? It’s too cold out here."

Sera gave him a flat look and muttered, "It depends on whether you are useful."

A wry smile appeared on his face, and he mumbled while chuckling, "Well, I don’t mean to boast, but I have an epic attribute called Lunar Blade, which allows me to store moonlight in my weapons and release it as a single devastating blow, and the more I cut someone or something, the slower they become."

"A combat attribute," she mumbled under her breath and said, "You can join us."

Kalien’s smile faltered for a moment, and he whispered, "Us?"

Sera pointed to her right.

Kalien followed her finger, and his gaze finally landed on the juggernaut sleeping in the right corner.

"That’s Vlad Belmont, a useful irregular I found to accompany me till we reach the return beacon," Sera stated impassively and closed her eyes.

An annoyed expression appeared on Kalien’s face as he clenched his fists and muttered under his breath, "Dammit!"

He sat down in the corner opposite Sera and muttered, "So you know the way to the return beacon?"

Sera nodded. "I do."

"That’s great then," he muttered and closed his eyes.

The night passed, and Rudy, who had actually fallen asleep during the act, slowly opened his eyes and sat up.

His eyes directly drifted towards Sera, and he thought, ’She is here, huh.’

He looked outside and mumbled, "It’s already daytime."

’Hmm? What was that?’ He thought and quickly turned his head to the left.

Kalien entered his vision, and he mumbled, dumbfounded, "What the hell?"

He stepped forward. "Where did this one come from?"

His head turned towards Sera, and he thought, ’Did she go out to get him?’

He furrowed his brows, and a sharp voice reached him, "What are you doing, you bastard?"

Rudy looked down and saw Kalien staring at him with an expression that said he had never seen anything so disgusting.

"What’s wrong with this guy?" Rudy thought, then muttered in a heavy voice, "What?"

Kalien rose to his feet and lifted his head to look at his face as he spoke furiously while jabbing his finger into Rudy’s chest,

"You brute. How dare you ogle Lady Seraphel with your lustful gaze?"

’What the fuck is he talking about?’ Rudy thought and mumbled with narrowed eyes, "When did I do that?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

A sharp glint passed through Kalien’s eyes. He unsheathed his silver sword and placed it beside Rudy’s neck as he spewed,

"You think you are smart, don’t you? Brute for brains."

Rudy also retrieved his long sword and placed it beside Kalien’s neck, and finally concluded after seeing Sera open her eyes.

He thought, ’Neither of them was sleeping. He is doing this to earn her favor and push me aside because we have known each other longer than he has known her... ha, what a hypocrite.’

His lips parted.

"What are you two doing?" But Sera’s sharp words forced him down.

Kalien instantly turned his head towards her and spoke in a slightly furious and slightly terrified voice, "My lady, this bastard was staring at you—"

"I don’t have time for this, Kalien," Sera muttered as she stood up on her feet and said, "We have to form a plan to kill that dreadborn at the center."

Kalien opened and closed his lips a few times before he lowered his sword and mumbled in a deflated tone, "I understand, my lady."

’What the hell did she just say?’

White sparks exploded near Rudy as he stored his long sword in the spatial ring and asked with a terrified expression, "What did you just say?"

Sera met his gaze and repeated in the same flat tone, "We have to form a plan to kill that dreadborn at the center."

’Is she trying to get us killed?’ Rudy’s mouth widened, and he blinked a few times before he stammered, "B-But it’s probably a deviant horror!!"

Sera shrugged as if it wasn’t a big deal and said while walking towards the exit, "It doesn’t matter. The two of us killed that deviant demon, and now we have Kalien, so even if it’s a deviant horror, we would still be able to kill it."

Hearing them talk about killing a deviant demon, Kalien tilted his head and mumbled, "From when did killing a deviant demon become so easy...?"

’She has gone crazy,’ Rudy remarked inwardly and said, "Yeah! We did kill it, but did you forget that we nearly died while doing so?!"

She stopped at the exit and answered impassively, "We? There was no we. You were the one who couldn’t dodge, even after I gave you the command to."

"Do you think I am one of your servants, young mistress?!" Rudy spat furiously.

Sera chuckled. "Ha! My servants are actually better than you, so no, you aren’t a servant. More like a pet."

’Dammit!’ Rudy’s face turned red with anger; he clenched his fists and watched Sera leave the chamber with a satisfied smile.

Kalien stood beside Rudy, dumbfounded, and muttered under his breath as he stared at the exit, "Are they on good terms or bad terms with one another...?"

Hearing him, Rudy inwardly clicked his tongue and thought, ’Did he not hear about the deviant horror? Or is he so desperate for a woman that he’d rather die than let go of any chance to be with one?’

It appeared that the realms had all kinds of flavorful irregulars.
