Chapter 1360: HX-09’s Fate! A Strategic Plan

Any attack below the level of a true god would never reach him.

The beam had been completely neutralised by the overwhelming, ever-flowing divine force radiating from his being.

As true goddesses, Evaline, Whisperwing, and Seraphina shared similar attributes. Not even a top-level divine could harm them unless they were a true god.

Orion raised his brows and looked at HX-09 in surprise.

He hadn’t expected her to suddenly launch a surprise attack on him.

Observing how her attack had been rendered completely ineffective, HX-09’s eyes widened in disbelief.

She had only intended to test their strength and gather some information, but the result left her stunned. Even though the beam of light wasn’t a lethal attack, it still required a god to mobilise their power to neutralise it.

Yet, it had been entirely erased, as if it had collided with an overwhelming force that wiped it from existence without a trace.

They must have been hiding their true strength all along.

Otherwise, why would even the Will of the Divine Mysteries have spoken to them so respectfully?

“I don’t think we should let her go, darling. She deserves punishment for daring to attack the Supreme Leader of Paradise,” Whisperwing said with a deep frown.

Evaline and Seraphina both nodded in agreement, their expressions equally grim.

Suddenly, a mysterious force slammed into HX-09, smashing her into the white-tiled floor with a heavy crash. She tried to move, but her limbs refused to respond.

A chill ran through her as she realised even the halo hovering behind her had failed to protect her at that moment.

Powerful! That was the only word echoing in her mind.

“There’s no need to punish her. She’s already a dead person,” Orion said, his voice slicing through the tense air. “Expel her from our realm.”

He wasn’t concerned that she might reveal their existence to the Divine Corps or the hidden powers backing them. In fact, he was counting on it. It would save them the effort of traversing the Middle Layer from one place to another in search of enemies or, worse, falling into an ambush.

He wanted to draw them to him, one by one, just as he had done with the Vylkr spawns.

Orion wasn’t worried about his plan failing. Any force capable of conversing with a Will of the Divine Mysteries, defeating the Divine Corps members, and imprisoning one of them wasn’t something the Divine Corps or their hidden forces could ignore.

The odds were high that they would now place Paradise on their list of secondary targets for elimination.

Just then, the oppressive force that had been immobilising HX-09 faded.

As she opened her mouth to speak, the space around her twisted violently. In an instant, she, the unconscious Machina, and the mechanical halo vanished from the room.

Whisperwing, who had cast them out of Paradise, nodded at Orion.

He nodded in approval. They should have reappeared at the cosmic structure where the Village had once been.

The Will of the Divine Mysteries that had previously tried to breach their realm had already vanished after failing its mission, so the area was currently secure.

Based on what that bizarre Will of the Divine Mysteries had revealed, even if they encountered another Will of the Divine Mysteries, they should be safe. The only true threats were Vylkr-related entities or any other mysterious forces attracted by the arrival of that Will of the Divine Mysteries.

Despite all that, Orion hoped they would return to their base safely.

“Is it truly a good idea to let them go?” Seraphina asked.

Just as they could enter the main structure because they possessed its coordinates and could traverse the endless void with ease, another entity familiar with and in possession of Paradise’s coordinates could also attempt to enter their cosmic structure.

However, this was nearly impossible due to the existence of the Mysteries of the Material Realm Cosmic Tree and the White Flame Cosmic Tree. Even so, they still knew little about the true capabilities of their enemies, apart from their extraordinary ability to manipulate a Will of the Divine Mysteries.

The other two also harboured doubts about whether this had been the right decision.

Orion nodded. “Did you notice that you were unable to see her fate?” he asked.

No matter how much he tried to unravel HX-09, he had been unable to perceive either her future or her past. Even objects had a fate, though not as complex as that of a living being.

However, hers was shielded entirely, different even from ancient divines and anomalies. It was as if a mysterious force was actively veiling her destiny, much like the unique energy he had sensed within her that had been swiftly erased.

The women nodded in response.

They had indeed noticed their inability to read her fate but had assumed it was due to their own inexperience, as they were still adjusting to their powers as true goddesses. Now that Orion had confirmed otherwise, they couldn’t help but find it troubling.

“If the Divine Corps possess a method to conceal their energy from a true god, then they likely have various other mysterious techniques we’re not yet aware of,” Orion continued.

“Though attacking their bases one by one might seem wise, the fact that these bases aren’t hidden likely means one of two things: either they don’t care about their destruction, or they’ve already prepared countermeasures.”

“Either way, rather than walking into the enemy’s den, we should instead force them to come to us. If the enemy is wary of us, we can retaliate based on how they respond.”

He paused before concluding. “We neither lack nor have enough gods and true gods. That’s why this is the most strategic path we can take right now.”

There was no need to inform the bizarre Will of the Divine Mysteries about these matters.

Despite their cooperation, Paradise still needed to operate independently and keep certain things to itself.

Orion was confident the other party would feel the same way.

The women furrowed their brows in contemplation.

“You’re right. I just hope nothing goes wrong,” Seraphina said, sighing.

Evaline nodded.

Whisperwing also nodded.

“I need to return back to study the effects of the changes brought by the Iyria energy and the nature of the White Flame Cosmic Tree to understand why it’s so different from the Material Realm Cosmic Tree. If I can figure that out, we might be able to uncover what made the heavens, the realm the ancient gods descended from, so different from the main Material Realm,” Seraphina said.

After ascending to true godhood, she could now efficiently conduct research that had been impossible while she was merely a god.

There was no need to remain here, so she took the opportunity to leave.

Orion nodded in understanding.

Instantly, they all disappeared into thin air.

….

While all of Paradise was undergoing a grand transformation, Orion, Greta, Celeste, and Gina appeared before a Spiritual Link Point. These were clones created by Greta’s gift rather than manifestations of their omnipresence.

Since they were now true gods, it would be disastrous to enter another cosmic structure without alerting those at the apex, even if they suppressed their powers.

Though they could sculpt new forms to avoid this, there was no telling how long it would go unnoticed. The only surefire method was to utilise Greta’s gift to sculpt new bodies for them. Unless someone examined their consciousness directly, no one could tell they were true gods.

Each clone bore traces of their consciousness, making them nearly indistinguishable from their true selves. They exuded the power of gods just below the threshold of true godhood.

They were on their way to return to the Floating Frost Valley.

Orion had previously visited the Floating Frost Valley to handle matters involving the Spirit Beasts who had been awaiting his arrival.

He didn’t stay long; he only revealed himself to those available on the White-Winged Gryphon floating island, learned about the situation between the Spirit Beasts Coalition and the Divine Corps, and then left. Now, he would meet the rest of them formally and take direct control of the war effort. Thus, he had brought others along with him.

Orion looked at the familiar red line and then led them forward into the Middle Layer of the Spirit Realm.

On the other side, they were met with the familiar sight of an icy valley with strange, mountainous peaks floating above it.

Orion looked up at the sky and sighed in relief, glad there was no grand reaction like the first time they had entered the Spirit Realm.

“Let’s go,” Orion said.

They soared into the air and vanished into the distance.

….

Within a cave atop one of the highest mountain peaks in the Floating Frost Valley, three figures were gathered.

On one side sat a man with warm, orange skin and slick, black hair, dressed in black, feather-like armour, with crow-like wings behind him and a white horn protruding from his forehead.
