Chapter 38: Zaratul’s Demon Army [2]

’Wait, is that... Puck?’

Julian vividly remembered the first time that he met the Fairy.

During their reunion after 10 years of his coma, in the solemn atmosphere of the throne room, Puck was the one who shattered the solemn vibe first as she burst into tears and flew straight into his arms.

Julian’s first impression of the Fairy was that she looked extremely cute, he would willingly do nothing and just pat her on the end head all day long.

She was by far the tiniest and cutest of all his subordinates.

At this moment, dressed in a green fairy gown, Puck’s long blond hair was tied in a cute ponytail behind her.

But what she was currently doing had no relation to cute.

At this moment, with her tiny fairy wings beating behind her, she levitated in the air with an oversized bow and arrow in her arms.

She was performing a live demonstration to the Archer battalion of the Demon Army.

None of the Demons with bow and arrows paid attention to her cute appearance though as with solemn expressions on their faces, they keenly followed her every movement with their eyes.

Puck’s tiny body emitted a soft white luminescence as she floated above the ground, she seemed to fuse with the wind, light, and the air.

With a serious expression on her face that only made her look cuter to Julian, she aimed at a distant target.

Qi Sight!

Julian paid keen attention to her.

Then suddenly, he noticed greenish white qi flare up around her, converging on her eyes and her arms.

Deadeye Focus!

Explosive Arrow!

BOOM!

The arrow left her bow and instantly it broke the sound barrier!

Even with his enhanced perception from his dual bloodline and with Qi Sight active, Julian lost sight of the arrow instantly. He only reacted when the arrow finally hit its target.

KABOOM!

A training dummy that was over 20 kilometers away in the Eastern end of the grand square detonated in a violent explosion!

Nothing was left of the training dummy as the crowd of Demon Archers watched in shock, then they exploded into cheers.

"Ms. Puck!"

"Ms. Puck!" They cheered excitedly and in awe.

"..." Julian watched with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

Only at that moment did he recall that this cute and seemingly harmless Fairy was a Level 98 A Rank Warden of the Archer Class!

Julian shivered. ’What level of misdirection is this?’

He almost completely forgot that aside Sir Alfred and Lilith, this was the singular most powerful existence currently in Dreadmoor.

’She’s a Wolf in Sheep’s clothing’. He thought with lingering dread.

Then with a forced smile, he looked at Elena and suggested. "Let’s go on a walk towards her direction".

Elena didn’t object as she quietly followed him.

As they walked, Julian’s red qi flared again as he activated a skill.

Psychological Invisibility!

He didn’t want to disrupt the training of the army with his presence.

With how much they revered him, he was pretty sure that training for today would end out of sheer excitement and awe if they knew that he came to visit them.

Unlike before when she didn’t know of his presence, his Psychological Invisibility didn’t manage to fool Elena this time as she looked at him and nodded in a subtle manner, realizing his intentions.

She didn’t say a word as she quietly followed him.

Seeing her follow him like this, Julian thought. ’Does this mean the Warrior Class has no skill to conceal themselves?’

’Well, it’s fitting I guess’.

As they walked around the grand square, every battalion that they passed briefly stopped their training as they faced her and saluted respectfully alongside their Commanding Officers.

"Commander Elena!"

Elena quietly acknowledged them with a nod and moved on.

Before getting close to where Puck was having a speech and giving the Archers pointers, Julian used the System Snooping Tool again from a distance, this time he used it on her.

~----~

’Just 7 traits?’ Julian raised his eyebrows in surprise.

To know more about his main subordinates, he read about their races including his own bloodlines in the library and from the information that he read, Fairies normally have 8 bloodline traits.

But then he was taken aback as he made a connection. ’Is the final trait of Fairies unlocked at Level 100?’

He was stunned. ’Is that requirement not a bit too stringent?’

In hindsight, this made sense as the Fairy Race was one of the strongest races below the Dragon Race, even stronger than the Demon Race.

This made Julian once again confirm that looking cute didn’t equate to weakness, Puck was a literal mobile artillery fortress.

After more than a dozen minutes of strolling through the grand square, Julian finally came close enough as Puck casually looked in their direction.

She already noticed Elena’s presence a long time ago but since she didn’t look, Julian’s Psychological Invisibility managed to evade her notice till now.

The moment she looked though, Julian’s Psychological Invisibility no longer mattered.

Her lips quivered as her eyes instantly lit up in excitement.

She was about to scream ’Lord Zaratul!’ excitedly when she calmed down and realized the reason for his Psychological Invisibility, but she was not deterred as greenish white qi flared around her small and petite body.

Glamour!

She directly created an illusion to deceive all the soldiers around her, making them think she was still instructing them while in reality, her real body flew towards Julian excitedly.

"Lord Zaratul!" She screamed as she flew into his arms.

Julian caught her and burst into laughter, infected by her joy and enthusiasm.

He indulged her as he patted her head, making her squirm in satisfaction.

Standing beside them, Elena stood at attention, deliberately looking directly ahead without moving a muscle like she was also deceived by the illusion.
