Villain MMORPG: Almighty Devil Emperor and His Seven Demonic Wives-Chapter 1068: The Fewer Distractions, The Better
Villain Ch 1068. The Fewer Distractions, The Better
Bella raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "And how exactly is she supposed to do that?"
Alice shrugged, glancing over at her partner in crime. "I dunno. By hanging out together, I guess? Getting to know us better."
Vivian scoffed. "How, exactly? She's from the Sterlinghart family. You can't seriously expect her to just meet us without any spies from her family."
Allen, standing amidst the chaos with his sword dripping with the blood of his enemies, couldn't help but agree with Vivian's point. The idea of her mingling with his group in real life was impossible. But… perhaps there was another way.
"We can hang out in the game," Allen suggested, his voice thoughtful but calm. His red eyes flickered. "I promised her a chance to get closer in the game, and it is the best way to do that."
Alice looked intrigued. "You mean... actually bringing her into this? Her level is still too low." She gestured around them, as cursed priests and undead creatures continued to attack. "She is gonna die as soon as she enters the dungeon."
"I mean hang around in the city or town," Allen explained. "It's the best decision I can think of right now. Mila is usually online alone. James isn't with her, so it'll be easier to talk to her without any outside interference."
Vivian approached Allen. "You really think that'll work? I mean, she's emotional right now."
Allen's gaze darkened slightly, but not with doubt. "It's a risk, but it's better than leaving things as they are. Right now, she feels isolated, like she's on the outside looking in. If I can show her what we're really like... maybe it'll help her understand."
Zoe, who had been mostly silent, now spoke up, her voice calm but thoughtful. "It could work. But what if she says something to James? What if she brings this whole thing up to him?"
"That's the part I'm worried about," Allen admitted. "James is strategic. He's using Mila, even if she doesn't realize it. If she mentions this to him, it could complicate things. He could twist her emotions against her."
Larissa crossed her arms thoughtfully. "Maybe we can tell her ourselves," she suggested. "If we make her aware of what James is doing, she might pull away before it gets worse."
Shea raised an eyebrow skeptically. "We could," she said, "but whether she believes us is another story. James has known her brother for years, and Mila's probably trusted him her whole life. That kind of trust is hard to break, especially when it's built over time."
Jane nodded, knowing Shea had a point. "Trust built over years versus us—people she barely knows," she murmured. "It's not going to be easy."
Zoe spoke up from behind Allen. "Exactly. We're strangers to her. Why would she take our word over her own family's? Just like Shea said, it's going to be hard to convince her."
Allen frowned, his mind working through the possibilities. "Maybe if I say it, it could work," he offered. "If I bring it up carefully, maybe I can get her to see the bigger picture."
Zoe snorted, crossing her arms. "I doubt it. Even if you're close, she's got blind spots when it comes to James and her family. You'll have to be really careful or it will be her who uses you."
Allen considered her words, then sighed. "I know. I won't come right out and say it. I'll take it slow, drop hints here and there. It's better than hitting her with everything at once."
Shea let out a dry laugh. "Good luck with that. Navigating someone's feelings while they're being manipulated by their family? You're going to need more than patience. You'll need a miracle."
The last of the cursed monks fell to the ground. The constant wave of undead had finally stopped, and the air, thick with the scent of decay and blood, seemed still for the first time since they'd entered the dungeon.
Allen glanced around, making sure there were no more enemies lurking in the shadows. His attention was drawn to the glowing notification that appeared in front of him.
[You received Undead's legs 12 ea, Monk's Head 8 ea, Tattered Priest Robes 7 ea, and 32,314 Coins.]
"Not bad. The loot is pretty decent, actually. But I still don't get it—why aren't there any other players here? This dungeon isn't that hard. It's kinda the same as Black Castle."
Jane, her skeletal army now disintegrating into dust around her, scoffed. "Maybe they're all cowards. The cursed priests and monks are intimidating at first glance, but once you get the hang of it, it's just another grind."
Vivian shrugged. "It's probably because it's a new map. Players stick to what they know. Black Castle is popular, and this place is still too fresh for them to risk it. Plus, those mobs… Ugh…" she rolled her eyes.
Bella nodded as she scanned the surroundings. "They'll come eventually. Once word gets out about the loot, this place will be packed."
Alice smirked. "By then, we'll have cleared the whole thing, and we'll be sitting on a fortune while they're just getting started. We will be rich, guys! Muahahaha!"
Allen grinned at the thought. "Let's hope so. More loot for us in the meantime."
Larissa stretched. "Honestly, I don't mind if they stay away. It's kind of nice having the place to ourselves. No annoying players stealing kills or getting in our way."
Zoe grunted in agreement. "Agreed. The fewer distractions, the better."

Shea glanced deeper into the monastery. "Should we keep going?"
Allen nodded, his eyes narrowing as he gazed into the shadows ahead. "Yeah. Let's push forward. I want to see what's waiting for us deeper in."
"What do you think at the end of this dungeon?" Vivian said.
Allen's grin turned wicked. "Something big. The developers wouldn't add this place without a major boss waiting for us. And whatever it is, it's going to be worth the effort."
"I hope it will be another story. Like inside the Emperor's Tomb or that secret tomb in the middle of the catacomb," said Jane in excitement.
"I prefer treasure," Alice added. "Maybe a monster boss like the last Spider Queen."
Her words made Allen flinch in disgust as he remembered the experience.
Bella summoned a small flame in her hand, illuminating the path ahead. "Then let's not waste any time. I'm curious to see what kind of twisted abomination they've thrown at us this time."
