Villain Simulator-Chapter 122: Unknown Changes
"One sword!"
In that fleeting moment, the world seemed to hold its breath as my blade descended.
Light wavered, and the air grew still, silenced by the impending strike.
My once-golden pupils, now tinged with hues of purple and blue, were constricted to mere dots as I beheld the world frozen in that singular instant.
Time itself seemed to stop as I decisively brought down the Evolution Sword.
Zzziip!
From the blade’s tip, a line of absolute darkness emerged, slicing through everything like a scythe through wheat.
It spread like a sinister shadow, devouring everything in its path.
Tens of thousands of Chaos monsters stood petrified, their forms cleaved cleanly in two by the razor-sharp line of darkness. The cleaved bodies then fell and disintegrated away, dissipating into nothingness.
Even the colossal eye that loomed ominously in the sky was not spared from the blade’s wrath.
Kaboom!
It split apart, ending in a huge explosion of darkness, covering the sky, and taking the vast horde of Chaos monsters with it.
Everything unfolded in the blink of an eye, and time resumed its relentless march forward.
But the black line made by my blade didn’t stop.
It stretched towards infinity, cleaving through the fabric of space as effortlessly as a knife through butter, a single black vertical line splitting the world in two.
Rumble!
The earth trembled beneath our feet.
Boom!!!
Followed by a deafening roar that reverberated through the dungeon as the world began to crumble around us.
Crack!
Mirror-like fissures plagued the sky, tearing and swallowing the dungeon itself.
"Adrian!"
The moment Rachael witnessed such a horrifying sight, she screamed in disbelief and rushed towards me to support my faltering figure, fragile as a candle flame in the wind.
[WARNING! WARNING!]
Blood-red system notifications flashed urgently.
[Dungeon has been cleared.]
[Dungeon rewards have been transferred to the system’s storage.]
[Warning: Dungeon is collapsing!]
[The host is advised to leave immediately!]
But amidst the devastation and warnings, my focus remained solely on Rachael.
"Rachael..."
I turned and called out to her. My voice was barely audible, but before I uttered another word, my strength gave out, and I collapsed to the ground.
"Adrian!!!"
Thankfully, with lightning reflexes, Rachael caught me in her embrace, preventing me from crashing to the ground.
"Rachael... Cough! Cough!"
"Yes, yes, I am here... Don’t speak. So much blood is coming out!"
Frantically, Rachael wiped the blood from my face, her hands trembling with fear as she shifted me into a more comfortable position.
"Please, Adrian, let me help you lie down; don’t."

"Rachael!"
But I interrupted her, grabbing her wrist and locking eyes with her in a moment of seriousness.
"Do you trust me?"
"Of course I do. But you shouldn’t speak so much."
Despite her serious reply, there was an underlying urgency in Rachael’s voice, a desperate plea for me to conserve my strength and hold on until help arrived.
But instead of heeding her words, I offered a soft smile and spoke with heartfelt sincerity.
"That’s good, then... I also trust you."
Rachael’s eyes widened at my heartfelt declaration, but before she could react, my heavy eyelids fell shut, and darkness enveloped my vision.
"Adrian!!!"
Her scream echoed in my ears. Desperation was evident in her voice.
"Wake up, Adrian, wake up! Open your eyes! You shouldn’t lose consciousness at this point."
She shook me with all her strength, tapping my cheeks in a desperate attempt to wake me up.
Unfortunately for her, I remained unresponsive, driving her to the brink of despair as tears streamed down her face.
Even so, I ignored her plea.
With so many things left to do and my Soul Sense reaching its limit, I focused all my energy on manipulating my soul in accordance with the system’s instructions for the Soul Bound Contract.
Wriggle!
Drawing upon the same technique I had used with Daisy, I commanded my soul to reach out and establish a connection with Rachael’s.
Even though my condition was worse than last time, I was a lot stronger than before. Not to mention, Rachael’s feelings for me were far more desperate and deeper than Daisy’s.
This made it easy for me to connect with Rachael’s soul, and right away, many invisible tendrils appeared from my body and went into hers.
’Now!’
My soul tendrils accelerated forward, traversing through Rachael’s body like a hot knife through butter, propelling inexorably towards her soul.
With Rachael’s feelings for me at their peak and still constantly increasing, her soul was even more vulnerable to mine than Daisy’s had been.
Encountering no resistance, my soul tendrils split and inserted themselves at the core of Rachael’s soul before withdrawing back into my body, carrying fragments of her soul with them.
Despite the fact that there were more soul fragments than Daisy’s, my soul still had absolute control over them and quickly chained them up.
Everything happened in the span of a heartbeat, and what followed was Rachael’s loud scream.
"—Ahhhhh!!!"
But despite her agony, Rachael clung to me with a fierceness full of desperation.
She refused to let go even as her screams faded, her consciousness slipped away, and her body collapsed alongside mine with a soft thud.
Our bodies quivered, and cold sweat trickled down my pale cheeks.
Subconsciously, I held Rachael tightly against me, and a hot sensation spread throughout my entire being.
Of course, I had not truly fallen unconscious. I was merely pretending, and even though my eyes were closed, all my other senses were perfectly fine.
Soon, I felt a mysterious connection form between me and Rachael, and then a familiar chime rang out, signaling the successful establishment of the Soul-bound contract.
[Ding! The Soul-bound contract has been successfully established.]
[Soul-bounded target: Rachael (Tier 2)]
Relief washed over me as the notification appeared, a weight lifting from my shoulders.
’Sigh...’
However, the relief was short-lived as more notifications flooded my consciousness.
[Your body has undergone a substantial amount of strenuous activity.]
[Notice: Skill—Rapid Growth (Passive) is in effect.]
[Stats have increased considerably.]
[You have gained a tremendous amount of experience points.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
[...]
[You have leveled up.]
Nonetheless, I was still in no mood or condition to assess any changes and go through every notification.
I pushed aside the barrage of notifications and focused on the next task at hand.
"System, accept Chaos Core."
[Confirmation received.]
[Transfering in process...]
[Does the host want to start the core formation process?]
Chaos Core was an almost cheat-like skill that granted one the power to create a Chaos Core within their being.
However, the creation of such a core required an immense amount of Chaos energy.
This was the reason I hadn’t activated it during the midst of battle.
But now, with the battle finished and the dungeon on the brink of collapse, it was a tailor-made opportunity for me.
Not to mention, the Chaos energy released from the deaths of countless Chaos monsters would soon dissipate into the void when Dungeon collapsed.
So wouldn’t it be a win-win situation for the Chaos energy and me if it were saved by me and became my power?
’Hehe.’
I chuckled in my heart and made my decision.
’Do it.’
Right away, the space rippled around me, and an eye-catching movement started to occur.
Instinctively, I reached out to the swirling maelstrom of Chaos energy, calling it forth with a single word—’Come!’
Rumble!
Like a hurricane unleashed, the Chaos energy surged towards me, pulled inexorably by my command. It surged towards me, converging toward me—the center of its vortex—with increasing intensity.
The Chaos energy was overwhelming, but my traits helped me maintain my sanity, enabling me to manipulate Chaos energy with precision.
My sole focus was on channeling this energy towards the creation of a Chaos core within my body, near my solar plexus.
Surprisingly, my connection to the dungeon’s Chaos energy granted me an unreal perspective—I could perceive the entire dungeon from a bird’s-eye view, even glimpsing Charlotte and the Shadow Guards rushing towards me.
’They are coming; I must hurry before they arrive.’
With increased determination, I drew in the Chaos energy more fervently, feeling the subtle yet undeniable presence of the Chaos Core beginning to take shape in my body, buzzing with an unknown force.
[Congratulations! The Chaos Core has been successfully formed.]
[The Chaos Core is being merged with the host’s body.]
The core finally took shape, and I sensed its essence intertwining with my own in a symbiotic fusion.
Everything was going according to plan.
But as they say, even with every step planned, fate still throws in her own moves sometimes, surprising even the most prepared.
The same happened to me.
Just as I began to relax, a sharp pain lanced through my torso, and my body convulsed uncontrollably.
[Chaos Core is merging with the host’s body.]
[Unknown changes have started to occur.]
The system’s prompts only added to my confusion and concern. Alarmed, I turned to the system for answers.
’Hey System, you said this skill wouldn’t harm me!’
[Back to the host: The skill is indeed not harmful to the host. However, the changes it brings and the process involved are for the host to discover.]
’Why didn’t you mention this before?’
[The host didn’t ask.]
My eyebrows twitched with annoyance at the system’s response, and I was forced to say it despite not wanting to due to the system’s blatant disregard for human decency.
’Fuck You! Bitch!’
Those were the last famous words I uttered in my heart.
"Master!!!"
Fortunately, Charlotte and others arrived on time, and I was relieved in my heart before my consciousness faded into darkness.
This time for the real.
