Villain transmigration: The doll maker.-Chapter 39:Comfortable
"It was actually easy. I just modified some of the low-level earth spells and combined them."
I said simply. The spell I had used was medium-tier at best, since it had been among my first crude attempts at spell creation.
"You managed to create your own spell! Impressive, only a small number of magicians and scholars can do that."
I continued to walk forward when I noticed there was no other beast around us. The blood would eventually attract other monsters, and I wasn’t about to engage in another meaningless fight.
"Young master you haven’t told me how you were able to create the spell!"
Abelion insisted and ran in front of me. He started to walk backwards while facing me and pleading.
"The theory isn’t complicated, but it requires practice to understand. I’ll explain to you after the test."
He seemed to accept my reasoning and walked back to Isis’s side and held her hand. We walked in silence, except for the occasional chirping of birds and the roar of beasts from time to time.
We were almost at the caves.
"Look a flag."
Abeloin shouted and pointed to our left, the flag was standing there unguarded practically asking to be picked.
It wasn’t large, but if carried around, it couldn’t be hidden. It was bright red in color, and that made it stand out even more in the green forest.
I had known there was a flag nearby, but I had not expected to run into it sooner.
"Master wait!"
Isis’s shout pierced through the air. Abeloin had run towards the flag excitedly.
Since I had been giving him strengthening potions, he had become a little stronger and had managed to slip out of her range. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
I looked on as Isis ran towards him, her speed almost four times his, but she was still too late. Abeloin reached the flag and pulled it out.
"Young master we got the flag!"
He shouted excitedly while waving it in the air.
"Master should we go and help them?"
Luna whispered softly while looking at the overly excited Abeloin. I shook my head at her question.
"He’s become too comfortable and complacent with me around, maybe this will teach him a lesson."
The ground Abelion had been standing on started to rise as the soil started to roll down. Abelion, who was still on top, slipped but managed to hold himself as the ground rose higher and higher.
"Don’t lose the flag or you’re on your own."
I said as my voice was carried by the wind and into his ears. His eyes widened as he turned to look at me.
I waved.
This was enough to completely distract him. He slipped from the back of the rising beast but Isis caught him before he hit the ground.
The beast fully revealed itself.
"Its an earth frog."
Luna said softly beside me. I nodded. Being an adventurer had truly helped her expand her knowledge and experience threshold that would never be found in books.
The frog that was almost three times my height turned to the two master and servant or lover, I never understood their dynamics.
Its brown, cracked tongue rolled out of its mouth and aimed at the two, but Isis skipped back out of range. The tongue hit the place they were standing hard leaving a small crater.
"Isis place him down. "
I said loudly to Isis. Abelion turned to me his eyes filled with betrayal. He wasn’t a fighter, but at least basic self-defense and fight moves would be enough. I wasn’t modifying his body for him to hide behind his doll.
Isis put him down and stepped back. Abeloin tried to follow but tripped and fell. The earth frog, seeing this, shot its tongue towards him.
That kicked his survival instincts, and he rolled to the side, barely escaping the tongue. He scrambled to stand up as the ground under him shifted and the tomgue appeared from below almost catching him.
"Isis.."
He screamed as he ran to his watching doll desperately. I had given her an order to stand back and not help him.
Before he could reach her, a block of earth rose from the ground and cut off his way. He turned to the side, intending to run around the wall, but the tongue shot out, cutting its route.
"Master, you have to try and fight!"
Isis shouted under my command. Despite locking her down, I could still see the genuine worry in her eyes, but Abelion had to grow up.
Abeloin rolled, ran, jumped as he tried to escape the tongue and the earth blocks that the frogs threw at him. As time went he was becoming more agile and could predict where the next attack would land.
The frog seemed to have gotten tired of his dodges and turned to the still Isis. Its tongue shot towards her.
"No!!"
Abeloin shouted in dismay as he watched the tongue hit her. Isis was thrown backwards and broke through a few trees before she came to a stop.
"Look you can’t even protect your lover, how useless. "
Abeloin paused as he looked towards the fallen Isis then to the frog. The frog made the decision for him, it shot its tongue towards the fallen Isis.
I was ready to release the command to her body when Abelion ran towards the frog and kicked it on the side of its mouth.
Since his body was modified the kick sent the frog straight into the air and backwards. Its big body broke through the trees and landed on its back.
"Did you see that? I did it."
He shouted excitedly. I felt like facepalming. He was still in the middle of the battle.
"Here, kill it."
I threw a small sword at him which he barely caught.
"Aah, how do I kill it?"
"Stab it or something. "
I said irritated. He nodded and ran towards the now standing frog. He had lost his first chance in his excitement. The frog, now furious, shot its tongue the moment it got close.
He side-stepped the tongue and brought his sword down, cutting through the tongue.
The frog croaked out loud as it dragged its bleeding tongue back. This time, he didn’t delay; he ran to the frog and stabbed it in the eye, pushing the sword deeper up to its hilt.
Blood spluttered from the wound as Abeloin sliced down cutting through until the sword hit the ground. He almost fell from the lost momentum after the swordhit the ground. .
The ground under him shook before another block of soil shot out but Abeloin had grown used to its attack. He jumped backwards.
He shot forward and slipped under its exposed belly and cut through it. He got up fast and managed to slip out just before the frog fell almost crushing him.
He stood there, covered in green blood, looking at the dead frog, a smile on his face.
I released Isis from my command. The moment she was free, she ran to the soaked Abelion and started to check him frantically.
"Young master, look, I did it."
He said rising his hand excitedly in the air. I frown as I watch the blood dripping down his body.
"Yes, good job. Now carry the flag you need a bath."
I forced a smile as he started to walk towards me. The frog was only a level IV beast. It was still among the lowest levels in that category.
"You are right young master. "
Abeloin accepted. From where we were, I could hear the sound of the river. We walked through the forest going in the direction I had previously been headed, thankfully.
It was only a short walk when the sound of the river became clearer. I pushed a curtain of hanging plants to the side, and there it was, the river.
It wasn’t really a river more of a big stream. I scanned the area, but there was nothing underwater or around us. It seemed this was the territory of the frog.
"Do you think every flag is on top or near a monster?"
Abeloin asked as he looked around.
"I’m sure. This wouldn’t be a test if it weren’t. You can take your bath here. I’ll be walking around with Luna. Shout my name when you’re done."
Abeloin nodded absentmindedly. I turned back and walked in the direction we came from with Luna following behind me.
"Where are we going master?"
Luna asked curiously.
"I think I saw something familiar at the place the frog had been lying in."
I led her directly to the deep hole the frog had been in. Earth frogs prefer to sleep underground in wet soil. They got their names since they can control earth. Every frog had its own unique way of using the earth for either attack or defense.
I jumped into the muddy hole with Luna following behind me.
"There is nothing but mud, young master."
Luna said, clearly confused, while looking around.
"Look there."
I pointed in the middle of the hole where it was a bit raised.
