Villain transmigration: The doll maker.-Chapter 78:Attacked.
The assassin launched at me his dagger drawn. He stepped forward, and the world around us stopped as though worshipping the man, when it started to move again he was beside me before anyone could react. He was fast.
’Freeze’
I caught the hand with the dagger aiming for my neck freezing it in the process. He glanced at me in shock but got over it very fast.
He countered by striking using his other hand but he was a second late i kicked him in the stomach. He groaned before escaping my ensnarement.
He jumped back and landed perfectly well the only sign of injury was the blood dripping down. I didn’t give him time to react.
Fireballs shot toward him consecutively but he skipped sideways and back a few times, managing to avoid the fire that was coming to him in succession.
"You’re too weak, I’ve killed stronger magicians."
He said smugly. A glint of light shot directly at me. I activated my shield immediately, it covered my front but to my surprise, the knife tore through it rocking directly towards me filled with vengeance.
I caught the knife before it reached me. It felt hot to the touch. Whatever spell had been engraved on it had been strong enough to tear through it.
I was impressed. I smiled, I could feel my blood pumping calling to me, telling me to fight.
I looked around me, and everyone was busy, even Seraph who had been standing next to me had joined the fight and she seemed to be enjoying it.
The small forest was filled with the sounds of metal clinking against each other and the falling of trees. I could already foresee the devastation that would be left.
"Where are you from?"
I suddenly asked , I didn’t really need an answer but it wasn’t bad to ask. I threw the dagger back at him and followed behind it.
Everything was silent and I could feel the air moving very fast against my skin as my body moved extremely fast.
I reached behind the man before the intended dagger and placed my hand on his back and released my innate power.
The momentmy hand made contactwith his body, the sound of his blood pumping and its movement filled my hearing. I could hear its movement into his heart and out to the rest of his body.
This was something I was unfamiliar with but it still felt beautiful.
The little veins near his skin and the arteries deep inside the flesh were also laid bare to my inspection.
A perfectly healthy human body.
I activated the new innate power I had gotten from the inheritance.
’Blood manipulation ’
This had been my third joy. I could feel the blood of everyone around me and could control its flow the moment I touched them.
I had wanted to test it and I got the chance.
My power entered his body, his blood boiled in his veins as they became more visible on the little skin he had not covered.
"What are you doing?"
He asked in confusion his body coming out in barely any whisper. His tongue had blood after all and I had it under my control.
"Fighting."
I said nonchalantly. The knife I had thrown cut through the air glinting against the sun as though mocking him for his overconfidence and self-importance.
He tried to move but he couldn’t, his hands barely lifted to counter. The knife sliced through his neck and embedded in the tree behind us.
He tried to talk but nothing. The blood solidified instead of spluttering out like normal as the lifeless body fell onto the ground.
"Is that your new ability?"
Seraph asked curiously. She bypassed the dead body and came to stand next to me.
"Yes, I can control anything that has blood. It’s cool isn’t it?"
I smugly said. This ability matched me well. I could stop anyone’s heart whenever I wanted.
"Yeah, I wish I had that. It seems all the fights are ending."
She said while looking around. The forest around us had truly been devastated. On Luna’s side fire licked out of the forest as the sound of trees cracking and falling dominated her side.
It seems the fire used had managed to spread the damage a bit.
It was much worse on Donovan’s side. Trees had been felled and a small empty field had been created with pitiful tree stumps left to witness the devastation.
"Master, here the fire user ."
Nixie shot out of the forest while holding a dripping head by the hair as she waved it around excitedly.
"Ooh, that’s very nice...you killed him. What reward do you want?"
I complimented her as I stepped back when the head rolled onto my feet. The man had died with a twisted expression of pain mixed with confusion on his face.
"I’ll think about it then I’ll tell you."
She said cheerfully. I nodded and kicked the head away.
"Did Jeneviv take the soul from this body, he seems a bit strong."
I asked her. It had just come to me that she had destroyed one of the bodies Jeneviv wanted.
"She brought it to me, I don’t need that man’s body the soul was strong enough. "
Jeneviv ran out of the forest. She had a bit of dirt on her face and leaves in her hair but she seemed excited by the new additions.
"Look, I maintained the strongest one for you."
I pointed at the still-warm dead assassin. She beamed and walked towards the body with a small bounce on her step.
She extended her arm and caught something in the air. A black ball appeared on her hand as she happily chuckled while looking at the soul.
"This is the most powerful, he must have been an eleven-star knight."
She said excitedly. I chuckled.
"Is the body useful to you or should we throw it away?"
I asked while inspecting the dead body. The wound on its neck hadn’t bled since i cloted it and only a little had escaped through its mouth.
"No no, I’ll take it. I just need to bind it to me and I can move around with it."
She said excitedly. She knelt before the corpse and mumbled a few words before a black spell appeared below the body and streaks of what looked like thin ropes dug into the body.
The body trembled and the skin started to melt and disappear into the spell circle. What remained was a skeleton.
"Skeletons can move underground faster and I want to increase his level until he gets to twelfth star. Is it okay if I move with this one, i have teleportated the others to the outskirts of the capital."
I nodded.
"You can keep it, I hope you manage to get it to twelfth star, I’ll try and get a magician for you."
A high-level one will make it easier for her upgrade since most of the work would have already been done for her.
"Master, I don’t regret ever following you."
She said emotionally. I almost rolled my eyes. She seemed to have forgotten I basically forced her to ’follow’ me.
"Thank you for trusting me, how sweet," I turned to Luna, "we have to leave. We’ll be late and we need to arrive at Troll Forest in a day or two."
I said and turned to see Donovan coming out of the forest covered in blood and the menacing smile still on.
"All done?"
I asked him while looking at the devastation behind me. Bodies were split in half some of them were still alive but most of their limbs were missing while their heads were thrown every where hazardly.
He was only supposed to kill ten but the damage left behind was worse.
"Yes, young master."
"Are you trying to change the name of this peaceful forest?"
Abelion came out from whatever hole he was hiding in and said. I can say I commend his art of escape since the way he disappears when fights arise is always a mystery. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"Go back to where you came from you cowered. Don’t talk to me."
Donovan shot back. I activated a cleaning spell and got rid of all the blood, grim, and dirt on him. I wouldn’t put it past him to drive the carriage like that until the next town.
"Young master, I think we should head directly to Troll town without stopping in any other town."
Donovan said seriously. That caused me to pause.
"Why?"
"The attack has delayed us and we aren’t even sure if we’ll get attacked along the way. You wanted to arrive in two days right?"
I nodded.
"Well too bad, if we stop along the way we’ll be later than usual. "
"Will we be sleeping in the forest?"
I asked cautiously. The thought made my skin crawl.
"No, we’ll travel overnight so that we can arrive by dusk the day after. You can sleep in the carriage while we travel."
He said seriously. I turned to look at Seraph who had also been listening.
"Sure, it’s not the first time I’ve slept outside or travelled overnight. I’m not that delicate like someone over there."
She looked at me pointedly. I shook my head and chuckled.
"Whatever you say."
