Chapter 94: Chapter: 93 Accept the marrige proposal!

Meanwhile, Rosalina sat inside a fancy carriage, her arms crossed tightly over her chest.

Jannie, the maid, was driving it quietly through the dark streets.

"Why is that old dog here?"

Rosalina muttered, frowning so hard her eyebrows almost touched.

The First Elder of the Valentina Clan was the biological brother of the previous patriarch.

He had been given the central lands of Auranel to rule.

It was rich land, but it shared a dangerous border with the Hayes Clan, so he was always busy there.

That’s why his sudden visit felt so strange.

Rosalina leaned back against the soft seat, her mind racing.

She just couldn’t figure out why he had shown up now.

"And they even told Jannie to use force on me?" she grumbled, wrinkling her nose in disgust.

Fresh anger bubbled up inside her chest.

"These idiots are only making things worse for themselves," she whispered angrily.

"Because of these pieces of shit... I missed the perfect chance to confess my feelings to Julius!"

She had been so close. The mood was just right.

She had finally worked up the courage... and then everything got ruined.

"I swear," Rosalina hissed through gritted teeth, "one day I’m going to destroy their whole family! If I don’t... then I’ll eat grass!"

She kept cursing them silently in her head, imagining all the ways she could make them pay.

Just then, the carriage slowed down and stopped.

"We are here, Miss Rosalina," Jannie said calmly as she opened the carriage door and stepped aside.

Rosalina stepped down from the carriage.

The whole mansion grounds were brightly lit, and there were way more guards than usual standing around.

She looked left and right, feeling a little uneasy, before pushing open the heavy iron gate and walking inside.

As she entered the main courtyard, the number of guards only increased.

"Hmm?" Rosalina muttered under her breath, "Why are there so many guards tonight?"

She kept walking toward the big front door of the mansion, her steps quick.

’Are they planning something?’ she thought.

She quickly turned her head and glanced back at the gate. Jannie was already locking it shut with a heavy click.

Rosalina’s frown grew deeper.

A heavy, uncomfortable feeling settled over her heart.

Still, there was nothing she could do right now. She wasn’t strong enough yet.

If she tried to run, these guards could easily chase her down and catch her before she even reached the gate.

"Haa..." she let out a long sigh, trying to calm herself.

No point in panicking. She had no choice but to face whatever was coming.

The First Elder showing up suddenly wasn’t normal.

She had already guessed this had something to do with her.

But honestly... what could she do about it now?

She took one more deep breath and walked straight to the main door.

When she pushed it open....

Creak!

The heavy wooden door made a loud creaking sound.

The moment it swung open...

"My, my... the precious daughter of the Valentina Clan, roaming around so late at night?"

A sharp, mocking voice echoed through the hall.

Rosalina turned toward the voice.

In the middle of the grand hall, an old man was sitting comfortably on a sofa.

His face was full of deep wrinkles, and he had a neat gray goatee.

His back was slightly hunched as he slowly sipped his tea.

This was Rolack Valentina, the First Elder of the Valentina Clan.

Rosalina’s eyes moved to the person sitting right beside him.

Long black hair, sharp black eyes... Nickel Valentina, the eldest son of the clan.

She clenched her teeth hard.

Anger bubbled up inside her as she walked over and sat down on the sofa directly opposite them.

"What brings you here all of a sudden?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

The First Elder took another slow sip of his tea and asked, "Where were you at this late hour?"

"What is it to you?" Rosalina shot back sharply.

The First Elder raised his eyebrows.

Nickel sat beside him with a calm face, quietly watching everything.

Rosalina looked at both of them.

Anger burned inside her like a wild fire.

If she could, she would have jumped up and choked the life out of them right then and there.

The First Elder set his teacup down on the table with a soft clink.

His voice turned ice-cold.

"You really have guts, Rosalina. Did you really think we wouldn’t find out that you’ve been getting all lovey-dovey with that Hayes heir?"

A faint killing intent leaked from him.

In his mind, he thought with disgust, ’If it weren’t for her talent... I would have gotten rid of her a long time ago.’

But this time, she had gone too far.

There would be no forgiveness for anyone who sided with those Hayes dogs.

Rosalina kept her face blank and calm.

She glanced at Nickel from the corner of her eye and asked coolly, "What evidence do you have that I was getting lovey-dovey with the Hayes heir?"

"Hmph!" Nickel snorted.

"Don’t act innocent, Rosalina. You were seen walking around with the Hayes heir, and today you were with that guy again until so late at night!"

"I didn’t ask for your opinion, did I?" Rosalina turned to him, her voice cold as ice.

"And watch your tongue, Nickel. You’re forgetting your place."

Nickel’s expression twisted, but he didn’t back down. "You want proof, huh?"

"Yes!" Rosalina snapped her fingers and leaned back against the sofa, looking confident.

Nickel gritted his teeth. ’This bitch!’ he thought.

’You really think I’d come unprepared?’ A smirk slowly spread across his face.

"Jannie!" he called loudly. "Come here!"

The moment Nickel called, Rosalina’s maid, Jannie, walked over quietly.

Rosalina glanced at her once, then looked away without saying a word.

"Tell the Elder what you noticed," Nickel ordered, his eyes locked on Rosalina the whole time.

’This is the perfect chance to get rid of her,’ he thought with satisfaction.

’With one less villain in the way, the protagonist will have an easier time dealing with that Julius.’

’And I’ve hidden my tracks perfectly, so I can stay in the shadows and help the hero defeat them all!’

Jannie spoke like a robot, her face completely blank.

"Miss Rosalina spends almost all her time at the academy with the Hayes heir. Even today, she spent the whole day with him."

Rosalina’s eyes narrowed. She glanced sideways at them.

’They’ve already set this up,’ she thought.

The excuses she had prepared wouldn’t work now, they could twist the facts however they wanted.

Still, Rosalina refused to look scared.

"What do you want?" she asked, cutting straight to the point.

She knew they hadn’t come all this way for nothing.

The First Elder let out a short chuckle.

"Straight to the point, huh? However, you have really wronged your clan this time."

Rosalina stared at them coldly, saying nothing. She had no choice but to listen for now. ’Just wait,’ she thought.

’One day I’ll grab your heads and rip them off myself!’

"Accept the marriage proposal!" the Elder said firmly.
