Villain's Odyssey: Enslaving heroines, Conquering Villainesses-Chapter 92: The Realization
"ARGH!" Pain exploded through his gut as her lightning-encased hand found its mark. Instead of just taking it, he channeled every ounce of strength he had left and drove his forehead straight into her face. The impact sent her staggering backward, dazed and blinking rapidly.
He didn’t waste the opening. Surging forward on unsteady legs, he drove his knee deep into her stomach, doubling her over with a harsh gasp. Then, spinning with desperate momentum, he delivered a brutal roundhouse kick that sent her crashing through the dining table in a shower of splintered wood.
Blood kept streaming from his wound, and the room started spinning. Each heartbeat sent more crimson pooling at his feet.
"I have to get out of here." The words came out as a ragged whisper.
Calculations be damned. From the moment he’d stepped into this cursed place, something had been screwing with his ability to think clearly. He kept making stupid mistakes, missing obvious signs. Maybe it was because he was right in the middle of the story’s main events, or worse—maybe the goddess of this world was watching him directly. Any attempt to mess with her favorite characters would definitely catch her attention. That could explain why everything kept going to hell.
If that was true, then staying in this academy was suicide.
He had to get out, now.
"Shit! She locked the door." He remembered, but stumbled toward it anyway. Pouring what little ether he had left into his right arm, he threw everything he had into one desperate punch.
Crack.
"Fuck!" Only a spider web of fractures spread across the wood where his fist had connected.
"NO! You can’t leave!" Her scream came from behind him, raw and desperate, followed by the sound of her body slamming into his back. He crashed against the door hard enough to rattle his teeth.
A hand grabbed him from behind. He whipped his elbow back, feeling it connect with her face. She screamed, but he didn’t stop there. He spun around as fast as his broken body would allow and tried to drive his knee into her again. Physical combat was all he had left—no abilities, barely any ether for spells. Thank god his body had been enhanced during that reformation process back then.
She dodged his knee strike, and her hand shot forward like a blade. Pain exploded as she literally severed his foot at the ankle.
"FUCK!" But he didn’t give up. He dove forward, wrapped his arms around her, and started headbutting her with everything he had. Each impact sent electricity crackling through his skull—agony beyond description—but he couldn’t stop. Not now, when he finally had the advantage while she was disoriented.
After the tenth headbutt, his eyes caught something glowing faintly red around her neck. An amulet, pulsing with soft crimson light.
"What the hell is that?" he muttered through gritted teeth, his mind racing despite the pain. This had to be connected to why she was trying to kill him. The way she was crying while still attacking—it was like she was being forced against her will. Maybe whoever was controlling her through that thing had also healed her leg earlier.
"Please... I don’t want to hurt you anymore. Just stop fighting back!" Her voice broke with genuine anguish.
BAM!
A deafening blast launched him across the room. He slammed into one of the beds, skidding along with it until he tumbled into the dining area. Blood erupted from his mouth in harsh coughs. He tried to stand but remembered his missing foot, his missing right hand. He was losing too much blood to stay conscious much longer, but passing out meant death.
"DO SOMETHING, YOU USELESS SYSTEM!" he screamed in frustration, struggling to get up.

"Damn this worthless piece of scrap!" But she was already on top of him.
Literally.
Her face was inches from his—tear-streaked cheeks, wild hair falling in messy waves around her shoulders, eyes blazing with malice even as tears spilled from them. She was beautiful in a heartbreaking way, wearing a simple white academy dress now torn and stained with blood. But her expression was pure torment.
"Please... don’t make me do this, Tracy," he whispered, and her crying intensified. But her right hand was already moving toward his chest, fingers extended with lightning-like claws.
She impaled him.
"Fuck..." The word escaped as his life started flashing before his eyes. But his gaze fixed on her chest again, on that amulet swaying with her movements. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he used the last of his strength to push himself forward and bit down on the cursed thing.
"ARGHHHHHHHH!" Unbearable agony tore through every nerve in his body, but he held on. Instead of letting go, he pulled with everything he had left.
The chain snapped.
Suddenly, the crackling energy coating her body vanished like smoke.
Thud.
She collapsed on top of him, her hand still buried in his chest. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Tracy... shit," he coughed up more blood, trying to move her limp form. He had to reach the door. Had to get help.
But it was too late. His vision was already dimming around the edges.
He smiled. He didn’t know why—maybe it was blood loss making him delirious—but he just did.
Life really was one giant mystery box.
For the first time since starting this whole revenge quest, he actually stopped to think: Why am I doing all this? What’s the point?
He was about to die. For what?
For a random unexpected shit?
No.
He was at fault.
He was stupid to think things would ever go as planned.
A mortal could never defeat a god anyway.
He was just... a fool.
