Chapter 43: 43. Disciplinary Committee

"How hard can it be?"

Yes, that’s what Yuna had originally thought

But a few minutes and several unimpressed groans later, Licht’s arm was looking less "bandaged" and more entombed.

"I didn’t know it’d be that hard," Yuna muttered, now a little defeated fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm

Licht just sighed

"That’s why I said I should do it,"

Scoffing at Licht’s remark, Yuna spun to the computer and pulled up a tutorial titled "Advanced Combat Bandaging 101."

As this was going on, Licht stood up and searched the room for something to help remove Yuna’s horrible wrap attempt.

Eventually, Licht found something and went back to his chair when he saw Yina standing in front of him

In that moment, Yuna’s eyes locked onto him with scissors now in her hands, wrapped ominously in a coating of mana.

"Hey! Careful with that!" Licht warned.

Yuna just ignored him and moved forward and slashing clean through the messy cast. Although it looked reckless, Yuna’s control over the sword was near divine, causing the bandage to fall away, revealing perfectly unharmed skin beneath.

Then, without a word, she approached him and pushed him down onto the chair.

"Don’t move," she said flatly.

After saying this, she dropped down onto the couch and right on his legs, which caused Licht to frown

"Get off." Said Licht

"No," replied Yuna

"You’re not moving until I say so."

Yuna began wrapping his arm again, this time she was neater, smoother.

Despite his irritation, Licht couldn’t help but notice how clean and professional the wrap now looked.

’Well... I guess a genius is a genius after all’ thought Licht

Seemingly noticing Licht’s impressed look, Yuna showed a smug smile

"See? Not so bad having a live-in nurse, huh?"

Hearing this, Licht’s eyes narrowed. "I’m not allowing you to stay in my office."

"If you kick me out, you’re gonna have to fight me," Yuna said, smirking. "And I think I’ll enjoy that more than you."

"This is the room that belongs to the Rank 1 cadet, one you only got through a technicality," Yuna said, smirking.

"If you kick me out, you’re gonna have to fight me. And honestly? I think I’ll enjoy that more than anything else."

Yuna’s tone was playful and almost teasing, but her eyes never left Licht’s. And as Licht looked on more, he felt that there was something dangerous in them, something unblinking and razor-sharp that made a chill crawl up his spine.

Just as the atmosphere grew tense, the door slammed open.

Two students, one male and one female, both in school uniforms with bright red armbands, strode in.

"Disciplinary Committee," announced the guy who came in

But before the two of them could say another word, they froze at the sight before them. In the slightly shaded room, two pairs of glowing purple eyes turned to glare back at them

That was already bad enough, but what was worse than that was the questionable position they had found the two in.

"S-sorry! Wrong room!" Trixie squeaked before slamming the door shut in a panic.

A second later, it burst open again.

"Damn it, Licht Valtier, what are you even doing in the personal office of the Rank 1 cadet!?" Victor barked.

Licht didn’t bother turning around. "Shouldn’t I be asking you that?"

Yuna, meanwhile, glanced over her shoulder at the two and yawned. "They’re all grey, no colour at all."

After being interrupted again, Yuna felt a sudden wave of boredom and tiredness hit her all over again.

"I’m already getting tired," she muttered, curling up on the edge of the couch, not caring about the confused gazes of the two new students.

"Who is that?" Trixie asked.

"Yuna Greyfax. Why?" replied Licht

Victor and Trix both flinched at the name.

Greyfax... does that mean...

"Damn privileged kids," he muttered under his breath.

Victor had come into Licht’s room intending to act as mature and neutral as possible, despite the rumours of arrogance, cruelty, and violence surrounding Licht, he felt like a qualified member of the disciplinary committee shouldn’t be clouded by bias

But Licht was making it really hard this time.

On day one, Licht had already hospitalised a student. By day two, he’d sent four more to the infirmary, one of them into intensive care.

"So?" Licht asked, finally turning to face them. "What do you want?"

Victor stepped forward. and introduced himself

"I’m Victor, and this is Trixie. We’re members of the Disciplinary Committee. We’re here to investigate your... recent acts of violence."

"Violence?" Licht echoed. "Everything I did was in self-defence." He held up his bandaged arm as evidence. "If you don’t believe me, ask your so-called victims how they started it."

"Self-defence?" Questioned Victor That doesn’t match up with the stories we received from the patients we met earlier today," Victor said, narrowing his eyes.

"Hm?" Licht raised a brow, clearly unimpressed.

Victor continued, "We asked all students involved, and they all gave the same answer."

"We couldn’t ask all of them," Trixie added. "One is still unconscious, and another is said to have suffered some memory loss, and he forgot the incident. But the other two were still Lucid and clearly said you were at fault."

Licht frowned. "That’s unfortunate."

"Yes, it is unfortunate that someone sustained injuries because of your—"

"No," Licht cut in coldly. "What’s unfortunate is that some people still dare to talk such nonsense."

As he said this, his voice grew colder and his gaze drifted off in thought.

Sure, Licht had gone overboard with Riven, but when it came to the other cadets... he was innocent.

So, why were they pointing fingers at him and trying to blame him for the incident anyway?

One of the cadets still seemed to have his head screweed on straight and chose to remain silent, but the other two were lying and not the only reason for them to tell such a lie was that they were afraid of something.

What would make them so terrified that they’d rather blame him than admit they got wrecked by Riven?
