Villain's Survival: SSS Class Infinite Copy Eyes-Chapter 48. Training dummy
Chapter 48: 48. Training dummy
That was the only thought Licht could come up with, and the consequences were dire
No finesse, no control, no precision. Just raw, untamed speed.
Flickering forward in a burst of lightning, Licht slashed downward only to feel his stance falter. His body stuttered mid-strike, forcing him to flip his sword mid-motion to redirect the flow.
『Valtier Sword Style — Howling Fang Sword! (C)』
His blade buzzed violently as it ripped through the air, letting out a shriek like a wolf’s howl. It tore the puppet apart, the force cleaving the Tier 2 construct cleanly in half.
The sudden shift in technique completely threw off the simulation dummy and because it was unable to adjust in time, it was cleanly destroyed.
Licht stood still, blade still extended and watching the construct dissolve into flickering particles.
He had won the fight quite easily But there was no satisfaction in it.
He had faced a dummy programmed to mimic someone below his rank, and yet still had to rely on not one, but two distinct sword techniques just to secure the win.
And not just any technique, either. One of them belonged to the Valtier Sword Style, a sword style passed down exclusively through the direct bloodline of one of the Eight Great Families renonwed fo tA tradition of unmatched sword skill, f.
Each Great Family’s core techniques were ranked at S-class. Yet the original Licht, his body’s previous owner, had only ever been able to use it at a C-rank level.
In the past, Licht might’ve scoffed. Spat on the floor in disgust at the mediocrity of his predecessor.
But now? Now, after training in this body and understanding its limits firsthand, Licht realized just how much the original owner must have struggled.
’To even reach that C-rank... it must’ve taken years of blood, sweat, and tears.’ Thought Licht
Yet in the end none of it had been enough for the Valtier family. His efforts went unrecognized and unacknowledged.
"In a way... Licht’s life was a pitiful existence."
Thinkin this, he sheathed his blade with a quiet sigh as the last fragments of the dummy faded into nothingness.
He stretched his arms and rolled his shoulders, preparing to configure the next opponent to practice with when the simulation chamber doors slid open once again with a soft hiss.
Licht, paused what he was doing and turned his head took a look at the person
A woman walked in, her bright hair was tied back loosely and dressed in a sleek pair of dark blue womeng gym clothes as A sword was slung over her shoulder.
Charlotte.
Their purple and blue eyes met for a second and then A awkward moment of silence passed between them.
Eventually, Charlotte was the first to speak up.
"I thought the place would be empty," she said, voice casual but cautious. "Sorry."
"No need to apologize," Licht replied, already moving to power down the sim. "This is a public facility after all. Anyone an use it as they see fit"
He set his sword aside, and straight back to his cold, detached expression.
Now that Charlotte was here, there was only one thing to do—leave.
For his own safety and future, Licht had long since decided that he would maintain the image of a powerful genius.
Now that hsi cousins were alread starting to feed the academy with rumours about his problems with the family that image couldn’t afford to slip. Especially not in front of someone who hated his guts as much as Charlotte.
But before Licht could walk away, he felt a soft hand close around his arm as A subtle pleasanet scent brushed against his senses.
"That deal you mentioned," Charlotte said quietly.
"The one where you’d teach me『 God’s Descent』... is it still valid?"
Licht blinked, caught compleley off guard.
He was confused and had no idead what she was talking about for monement. But then he remembered, he had offered somwthing liek that charlotte, Or to be more exact, he mocked her with the offer.
Right after Charlotte had tried to take her own life, He had only said it to provoke her and yet... here she was, taking him up on it.
Licht narrowed his eyes
"Say I do teach you that techniue, What do you want it for?" asked Licht in a low voice.
Charlotte’s fist clenched.
She stood thier, Her eyes turning red, not with tears, but with a fury so fierce it seemed she might ignite there on the spot she stood.
"To kill someone."
Despite feeling a wave of killling intent Licht still stoo firm and smirked.
"Oh? That someone wouldn’t happen to be me, would it?"
Charlotte paused. freēnovelkiss.com
"No."
Licht froze. His smirk faltered.
"...Pardon?"
"No," she repeated, eyes locked onto his. "The person I want to kill isn’t you."
Licht was genuinely surprised. No surpried didn’t even begin to encapsulate his emotions.
He’d played the game, he’d seen the hatred in Charlott’s life, the single-minded obsession. He knew exactly how much Charlotte wanted to kill the man known as Licht d’Valtier.
It was like a drug addiction, pure, alln consuming hatred. She practicll to for the moment of stabbing him through the heart and now, standing inches from him, she says he’s not the one she want’s to kill?
"Bullshit," said Licht, his tone darkening.
As Licht said this he shifted his stance slightly. At the same time, The Guardian Dragon Soul bound to him stirred, sensing the spike in its owners unease.
But even as this happened, Charlotte didn’t care. She stepped closer, resting her hand casually on the hilt of her sword.
"Licht... I know you. I know you better than anyone alive." said Charlote, her voice filled with something dangerous.
"I’m obsessed with you." she began
"The way you talk. The way you walk. The way you breathe. Your likes, your dislikes, your habits, your silences, I learned and studied every inch of who you areandnd do you know why?"
As Charlotte said this, she stepped even closer, her eyes locked with Licht’s.
