Walker Of The Worlds-Chapter 2663: Flying Freely And A Wish For a Beard
With the first step of flying done, Meng Bai now had to learn how to actually move.
"Can you figure out how to move?" Lin Mu asked instead of telling the boy right away.
"To move, I’ll just have to release the Spirit Qi from my back, right?" Meng Bai answered instantly.
"Yes, but again… Maintain control over your Qi. Not too much, not too little." Lin Mu reiterated.
"I’ll try." Meng Bai said and released a very tiny amount of Spirit Qi from his back.

SHA!
"I moved!" Meng Bai said with excitement.
"Yeah, you did." Lin Mu nodded. "Now just continue that and speed up once you’re comfortable with it," he added.
"Alright." Meng Bai nodded and began to move again.
He moved meter by meter and found it easy enough to maintain his posture. In fact, he found it easier once he was in motion. It was being stationary that made him lose his posture.
A few minutes later, Meng Bai had gotten the hang of it and was zooming around freely.
"AHAHAH! THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!" Meng Bai had never gotten to fly before.
It was something that mortal world cultivators actually had an advantage in, as they learned to fly even in the Qi Refining Realm. Of course, that was with the help of a Spirit Weapon, but the basics of it were the same. And later on, they got to fly freely in the Nascent Soul Realm. As such, when they reached the Immortal Realm, they already had experience with it and didn’t have a hard time relearning.

Meng Bai, however, never got that experience, so it was like learning to walk for the first time.
Though he had certainly grasped it in a very short time, which was another proof of his Qi control.
"Now follow me," Lin Mu said as he began to move.
SHUA!
He flew slowly so that Meng Bai could keep up.
After ten minutes, Lin Mu sped up more.
"Can you keep up?" he asked.
"I think I can." Meng Bai upped the Spirit Qi output and burst ahead.
WHOOSH!
"That’s better than I thought." Lin Mu sped up as well and matched the boy’s pace.
Bit by bit, Meng Bai kept on speeding until he couldn’t increase the output anymore. His Spirit Qi was draining rapidly, and this was more akin to sprinting.
He managed to last about ten minutes before he had completely drained his Spirit Qi.
"Haah… haah… Haah…" He panted as he tried to catch his breath.
They had been flying for about forty minutes and were just at the edge of the forest now.
"This should be enough for now," Lin Mu said as he landed on the ground.
THUD!
Meng Bai did the same and managed to land on his feet.
"That’s so tiring. How do Immortals keep on flying for so long?" Meng Bai asked.
"They have higher stores of Qi and don’t consume as much Qi as you were, plus they don’t fly in the same exact method," Lin Mu answered. "Rather than constantly releasing Qi, they are also absorbing it at the same time."
"So they get pulled from the front and pushed from the back," Meng Bai understood.
"Exactly." Lin Mu confirmed.
"I see. That’ll definitely be more efficient," Meng Bai realized.
"If you reach the Nascent Soul Realm, you’ll be able to do that too. But at the Core Condensation Realm, it’ll be a bit too hard." Lin Mu knew that maintaining two different Qi flows like that would be too straining for Core Condensation Realm cultivators.
"I feel like breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm right away then," Meng Bai said with a chuckle.
"Well, you can," Lin Mu said, "but no hurry." He didn’t wish to push the boy too much.
"Yeah, I at least want to be able to grow a beard first." Meng Bai said, looking at Lin Mu’s full beard that was growing majestically.
He hadn’t shaved his face for quite some time now; as such, it had covered his face. It made him look more mature and older, and also gave him a sense of nobleness.
Meng Bai was quite envious of it and wondered when he would be able to grow one.
"If it’s just a beard you want, I have some hair growth pills," Lin Mu replied.
"You do?" Meng Bai said with interest in his eyes.
"Though they are a bit potent and might just turn you into a furry monkey," he joked.
"Ugh… Probably not then," Meng Bai denied.
He didn’t want to look like a furry chimp.
"Let’s go in," Lin Mu said as he began to walk.
They walked in silence for a bit before Meng Bai asked something.
"What was that talisman?" he asked. "I didn’t know there were talismans that allowed a Spirit Realm cultivator to fly."
"You’re right. There aren’t," Lin Mu confirmed. "It was a Feather Weight Talisman."
"A Feather Weight Talisman?" Meng Bai furrowed his brows in thought before recalling what it was. "That talisman?! But isn’t that used to transport heavy goods?!" He had heard of them before and had even seen some being used.
Just like he said, they were intended to reduce the weight of heavy cargo, which allowed it to be moved easily.
"Yes," Lin Mu answered.
"Aren’t those expensive? They’re meant for goods that are tons in weight," Meng Bai said, feeling shocked that Lin Mu had used something like that for him.
"Yeah, but for low weights like yours, they allow one to float," Lin Mu explained. "Of course, you can’t float too high, but you can still move around decently with it."
Now that Meng Bai thought of it, he couldn’t actually control his ascent more than ten meters or so. He had thought that it was simply to do with his Spirit Qi output, but the reason was different.
"No wonder…" Meng Bai muttered. "But still, they’re expensive." He added.
"Not much. You can get a stack of a hundred for a hundred low-grade Immortal Stones," Lin Mu replied.
THUD!
"A HUNDRED LOW-GRADE IMMORTAL STONES!?" Meng Bai fell to the ground hearing that.
