War of Roses: The Proud Tycoon,Please Surrender!-Chapter 439: Memory
Gu Yan couldn’t help but sigh again that having such intelligent children is truly a skill, and it’s all her doing.
"Alright, you little guy, you’re still so small yet you’re worrying like a little old man. Stop fretting about this."
"Mommy, we’re just doing it for you and Daddy’s sake."
Hearing this, Gu Yan and Tang Yuxiu couldn’t help but think, if it’s really for our sake, this call shouldn’t have come just now, interrupting their atmosphere and breaking the moment.
But how could they have the nerve to say that in front of the kids?
On the other end of the line, Xue Xianglan called Gu Xiaobao and asked him to hand over the phone so she could say a few words.
Gu Xiaobao handed it over and sat aside to listen to them talk.
Xue Xianglan took the phone and got straight to the point, "Gu Yan, have you regained your memory?"
"Xiang Lan. It must be those two little guys who spilled the beans."
"Yes, it’s great that you’ve regained your memory. I was worried you’d never remember me, you heartless thing. You remember, but all you recall is that Tang Yuxiu guy."
Gu Yan chuckled, "Don’t mind, as the circumstances back then were unexpected. I just happened to remember that part around the car accident, but now I’ve remembered you!"
She certainly wouldn’t tell her that it was all because of Tang Yuxiu that she remembered everything.
"That’s good too. By the way, remember to go to the hospital for a check-up with Ah Hao to see if there are any aftereffects. Take good care of yourself."
"Got it, I’ll remember to go."
"Also, let’s find some time to get together later. I guess Ye Zi will be back soon too."
"What about Ye Zi? Where did she go?"
She came back late and couldn’t remember anyone, so naturally, she didn’t know how they had been all these years.
"She went abroad for training for three years. She could have returned already, but something happened over there, and she stayed to help, causing a delay. She’ll come back once things are settled there."
"Oh, okay, then let’s get together and talk more when she returns. Oh, dear..."
Gu Yan suddenly exclaimed, making Xue Xianglan frown, "What’s wrong?"
"It’s nothing, nothing." Gu Yan replied, glaring at Tang Yuxiu while swatting away his hand that had pinched her waist.
Tang Yuxiu just smiled indifferently.
Gu Yan said to Xue Xianglan on the other end of the phone, "Xiang Lan, thanks for helping with the two kids today."
"No trouble, I really like them. The more time I spend with them, the happier I am. Alright, if there’s nothing else, I won’t keep you. Don’t worry about the kids, enjoy your couple’s time with Tang Yuxiu." Xue Xianglan chuckled mischievously, making Gu Yan’s ears tingle with the same mischief.
"Not going to say more, goodbye!" Gu Yan hummed lightly but didn’t actually hang up.
Xue Xianglan laughed on the other end, "Okay, I’ll hang up then."
"Bye-bye."
Gu Yan hung up the phone, and the next second, she was thrown to the side by Tang Yuxiu and ended up being pinned on the sofa.
Gu Yan, "..."
This guy, can’t he be a little less impatient?
Gu Yan placed her hands on his chest, smiling playfully, "Tang Yuxiu, I don’t want to do that with you right now."
Tang Yuxiu’s face darkened with a soft snort, "That’s not up to you."
Saying this, Tang Yuxiu leaned in to kiss her, but Gu Yan dodged, pushing against his chest, saying, "Let’s hold off for now, I want to do something else with you."
Hearing this, Tang Yuxiu raised an eyebrow slightly, "What else do you want to do with me? Besides that, what else do you need me to do?"
Gu Yan glared at him, "Stop being improper, you’ve become more of a rogue; I don’t quite like you anymore."
"Hmm? What did you say?" Tang Yuxiu reached for her waist, pinching lightly, making Gu Yan yelp and laugh as she dodged away.
"You dare say you don’t quite like me? Hmm?"
Gu Yan, dodging his hands, surrendered saying, "Alright, alright, I don’t dare. I like you best, more than ever."
Tang Yuxiu hearing her words, felt something hit his chest, sour, tingly, yet very pleasant.
He took her hand and gently kissed it, whispering, "Yanyan, I love you more than before."
Gu Yan gazed deeply into his face, feeling touched in her heart.
Every time she heard Tang Yuxiu express his love, it was the most beautiful sound in the world to her.
She brushed a hand over his face, giving him a slight smile, "I love hearing those words. Can you say them to me every day?"
Tang Yuxiu also smiled softly, "As long as you love hearing it, I don’t mind saying it ten or even a hundred times a day."
Gu Yan lifted her head happily, giving him a light kiss on the lips, before lying back down, "Can you get up first? I really have something else I want to do with you. I promise, once we’re done, I won’t refuse you anymore."
Tang Yuxiu sighed lightly, propping himself up with his arms, looking down at her, "Fine, I’ll let you off for now."
He got off her, reaching out to pull her up.
Gu Yan held onto his hand, got barefoot on the floor, and dragged him towards the piano room.
"Hurry up."
The two arrived in the piano room where the piano Tang Yuxiu once gifted Gu Yan stood quietly by the window.
"Come here."
Gu Yan pulled him over to the piano.
She released his hand and gently caressed the piano. Over the years, she had played many pianos, but only this one, upon seeing it, made her heart blaze with passion.
This was her first piano in the true sense, given by the person she loved the most.
"These years, I’ve never found a piano that truly suits me. It wasn’t until I saw this one that I understood why I was so picky."
Because she couldn’t find a piano that fit her, she focused on composing. Last time’s concert, it was Yan Shuo’s persuasion, combined with the studio’s need to establish a reputation, that made her reluctantly agree.
She always felt that her piano playing had never shown its best potential.
It was related to the instrument.
Gu Yan sat down at the piano, looking up at Tang Yuxiu, "It’s been a long time since I played for you. Today, I suddenly want to play a piece; I’m a bit eager."
Tang Yuxiu’s eyes were pure black, contrasted against the pure white piano, vivid and profound, Gu Yan’s favorite look.
"I haven’t heard you play in a long time. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I also look forward to hearing your music," Tang Yuxiu said, "What piece do you want to play for me?"
Gu Yan responded without hesitation, "Memory."
