Warhammer Divine Throne-Chapter 682 - 303, Attack the Knight Kingdom!
Barimonte Castle is located in the northern part of the Leonais Duchy, amidst a region of hills and mountains. It's a small castle garrisoned by only a few knights and two to three hundred troops, primarily used to control the sparsely populated areas nearby.
Laine thought it wasn't particularly surprising that this castle had been stormed by rebellious peasants, as several knights from this castle were currently imprisoned in the Imperial Capital Brunswick.
Laine understood clearly what the peasants' rebellion meant, but he knew he had no excuse to get involved. For now, he could only watch.
Quickly organize and train new troops!
In the Northern Wasteland, the Skalings Tribe, thousands of barbarian armies were gathering along the coast. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
They were all warriors who worshipped Chaos, ranging from basic barbarian raiders to barbarian champion warriors and Chaos Chosen Warriors. A vast, dense army was waiting by the sea for the arrival of the dragon ships.
The most elite three hundred Royal Guards "Crimson Guard" stood atop the cliffs, defending their leader.
In the fierce cold wind, the King of the Skalings Tribe, "Red Eye" Egil Steelbjorn, stood at the edge of the coastal cliff, with two men standing behind him.
They were his most trusted Chaos Champion Hardorn, and his adopted son, who was also a powerful Chaos Mage named Chakoy.
This Chaos Mage was originally from Brittania, originating from a small fishing boat that had drifted across the sea to the outskirts of the Northern Wasteland, landing on the Skalings Tribe's coast.
This was once a child awakened with magic talent. Ordinarily, such a child would be sent to the Imperial Royal Wizard Academy or the Wizard Alliance in the Southern Realm for training, otherwise, he would soon be sensed by the Lake God Prophets and taken away.
The ignorant peasants could not afford to send their child away to study magic, nor did they want him taken away, so they placed the child on a fishing boat, gave him some food, and hoped he would escape his fate.
The peasants' foolish actions did nothing to save the boy's fate. By the time the fishing boat drifted to the coast of the Northern Wasteland, the boy had already been deeply corrupted by Chaos, becoming a terrible Chaos Mage.
From the moment Egil laid eyes on the boy, he saw him as a gift from the God of Darkness, taking him as his adopted son. Over decades, the adopted son became a legendary Chaos Mage capable of summoning a Chaos Great Demon.
This is the consequence of leaving children with awakened magic talent unchecked. Such children frequently become servants of Chaos or become a teleportation gate for Chaos as they grow.
"I will lead five thousand troops southward first. Hardorn, wait here for the Chaos Dwarves and more troops to gather," Egil instructed his deputy, Hardorn. "Chaos Dwarf Lord Zumala will bring his Hell Cannon to join you."
"My King, our army is not yet amassed. Why are you in such a hurry to head southward when the chiefs of various tribes are still leading their armies here?" said Hardorn, a tall Chaos Champion clad in crimson armor, to Egil.
"I can't wait any longer. The will of the great deities compels me to go south, and so, go south I must," said Egil, clad in Chaos armor and wielding a Hell Battleaxe, with a crimson aura flaring around him, "I am the Blood God's Divine Chosen Champion."
"The great Blood God's oracle indicates that the woman who can bear a son for my father is in the south, on the northern island of Leonais Duchy, called Landri. I sense it; the Blood God's oracle demands countless bloodshed and slaughter to please the Blood God," said Chaos Mage Chakoy. "Without sufficient slaughter, heads, and flowing blood, the Blood God will not grant my father a true son."
Egil nodded. "Therefore, Chakoy and I will lead five thousand troops southward first. The remaining thirty thousand can arrive later, waiting for those Dwarfs from the east to join before setting off together."
"Yes!" Hardorn replied loudly.
The barbarian army led by a hundred dragon ships set off first, the black vessels carrying destruction as they headed south.
A hundred dragon ships crossed the Claw Sea. Despite the unrelenting spring storms, with gales whipping across the sea, under Khorne's blessing, the black fleet remained unscathed.
The King of the Skalings, Egil, stood proudly at the head of the dragon ship, as the mad winds, torrential rains, or whirlpools could not stop the dragon ships' advance. This was the Blessing of the Blood God, undeniably representing the northern people's might.
"Father," Chaos Mage Chakoy emerged from the cabin, seeing Egil standing on the dragon ship's deck, unable to keep his eyes open against the raging winds and waves.
Yet, the Chosen Champion of Khorne stood like a deity's incarnation at the ship's bow, the rampant winds and overwhelming waves appearing insignificant before him. Chaos brass armor adorned his body, spikes, and rings decorating him, and skulls hanging on several iron bars behind him hailed Egil's glory.
He was indeed the Divine Chosen Champion of Khorne, a warrior favored by the Blood God, who had swept across the Northern Wasteland and Chaos Wasteland for several centuries as the King of Skalings.
"Just three more days and we'll break through the storm, arriving at the Duchy of Leonais," Chakoy called out to Egil, "The southern natives would never expect that our dragon ship fleet could cross the storm, and they'll be caught completely off guard."
