Chapter 134: Chapter 133: A Bit of Sweetness in Her Heart

Damian Sinclair was amused, yet exasperated, by Bella Acker’s shameless antics.

"Bella Acker, if you’re second in the world at twisting words, no one would dare claim first." As the elevator arrived, Damian released her face and stepped inside first.

Bella Acker stood at the door, cheeks puffed out, glaring at him without moving.

Damian held the elevator door open with his hand, raising an eyebrow, "Don’t want my help anymore?"

"Of course, I do!" Bella Acker rushed into the elevator at his words, looking up at him, "Damian, so, does this mean you’ll help me?"

"Let’s eat first."

"But I’ve been out too long; Ms. Cheney and Ms. Flynn will really be worried if I don’t go back soon."

"They already called. I answered."

"That’s good." Bella Acker subconsciously felt relieved, but then quickly reacted, glaring wide-eyed, "Damian Sinclair, why did you answer my phone? What did you tell Ms. Cheney and Ms. Flynn?!" She said, pulling out her phone.

"I told them you’re not going back tonight and will stay with me." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

The elevator dinged as it reached the first floor, and Damian took long strides out.

"Huh?" Bella Acker, stunned with her phone in hand, stood there for a while before briskly following out, "Damian Sinclair, you scoundrel, give me back my innocence!"

Innocence? Well, there wasn’t exactly anything innocent between them. But even so, he shouldn’t have just picked up her phone and talked nonsense!

With his long legs, Damian walked fast, and Bella Acker had to trot furiously to catch up, ready to scold him, only to find the doors opened to a world covered in white snow.

Bella Acker’s eyes widened with delight, "Ah! It’s snowing!" she exclaimed while reaching out to catch the snow.

Damian pulled her back, "Aren’t you cold? Wear your coat properly," he said, naturally bending down to zip up her coat.

Bella Acker was stunned and didn’t react at first, simply looking down at him as he zipped up her coat.

His features were handsome and dashing, far better looking than those surgically enhanced male stars. And this close-up contact was even more stirring.

Bella Acker stared for a while, then murmured, "Damian, could you not be so nice to me?"

The better you treat me, the more I’ll long for you, hoping that maybe, just maybe, you like me a little.

But your heart already has someone you like, and she’s back now. Your kindness makes it hard for me to let go.

Feeling a pang of sourness and sadness, Bella Acker turned her face away, not letting him see her reddened eyes.

Damian finished zipping her coat and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

Bella Acker sniffled and deliberately shifted the topic to break the current ambiguity, "Let’s not talk about that for now. What exactly did you say to Ms. Cheney and Ms. Flynn?"

Damian, resigned, pulled her along by the hand as they walked out.

Bella Acker stumbled after him, twisting her wrist but finding she couldn’t free her hand from his grasp, whispered, "Let go, someone might see us."

"So what if they do?" Damian glanced at her.

Bella Acker noticed his eyes turn cold again, instinctively shrinking her neck, "Didn’t you hate people seeing us like this before?"

Damian sighed, "That was because you were younger then; I didn’t want you to bear any unnecessary pressure."

So, that’s why he never took her to gatherings in the past and never discussed their relationship in front of others—not because it was shameful, but to protect her?

Thinking this, Bella Acker couldn’t help but smile, feeling a hint of sweetness in her heart.
