Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 383: Presenting

After I flicked my finger, there was a wave of sword energy that came from my finger.

This wave of sword energy cut right into the chest of the sand emperor, scattering it into dust.

Though after it scattered, it came back together once more.

Only this time, it seemed smaller than it was before.

This was the Void Sword Law that I possessed.

Although it wasn’t as developed as Gao Fu Shuai’s Void Sword Law, I was still able to use it against the sand emperor. Though it seemed that the effect wasn’t as good since it didn’t completely make the sand disappear.

It just made it a bit smaller since it got rid of a bit of the sand through the spatial cutting effect.

After the sand emperor regrouped, it said, "What do you think you’re doing? Do you really want to be this greedy? You should know that we’re not the only ones that have come down from the upper realm, do you really want to waste your chance like this? If you don’t work with me, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to work with anyone. Even if you defeat me, it’ll be a matter of time before you encounter someone stronger."

At the end, it almost seemed like the sand emperor was desperate.

It was as if it was trying to sell itself as a useful helper rather than just a pig to the slaughter.

Seeing that I didn’t say anything made it talk even more as if it thought that I was being swayed by its words.

But...

All of a sudden, I flicked my hand.

I had actually been gathering the power in my hand to release this one big attack.

The one that I released before was only a small attack that just gathered a bit of my energy to form a slash with the Void Sword Law.

This one was a big attack that contained most of the energy that I currently had.

I had seen the effect of the small slash formed from the Void Sword Law, it wasn’t as strong as the Void Sword Law that Gao Fu Shuai used since my attainment with the Void Sword Law was lower than his.

So I knew that I had to use more energy to create a bigger attack to completely kill this thing.

That was the whole point of this, I had to be the one that landed the final blow.

Or else would I have had Gao Fu Shuai do all of this in the first place.

The sand emperor had still been in the middle of its monologue when I swept my hand out. So when the sword energy hit it, it was cut off mid sentence.

But as it was disappearing from this Void Sword Law sword energy that I released, I said, "I’m not from an upper realm in the first place. I was born and raised in this lower realm, so I won’t let anyone invade this place."

The last thing that the sand emperor said was in a wistful voice, "The golden treasure..."

"Golden treasure?" I couldn’t help repeating to myself in a low voice, but I didn’t say anything else as I just watched the sand emperor disappear under my attack.

When it was over, the staff that it held dropped to the ground.

"Tink, tink..."

The sound of the staff clattering on the ground suddenly stopped midway.

At this, all of us narrowed our eyes and raised our guard since we saw that the staff was suddenly floating there in the air. Gao Fu Shuai and the four beasts immediately came in front of me as if they were ready to protect me, but I could tell that there was no hostility coming from this staff.

After a long silence, there was a glow that suddenly came from the staff.

This was a faint yellow glow that soon expanded outwards until it formed a figure.

This figure was similar to the sand emperor from before, but it seemed much more gentle in comparison. Perhaps it was because the yellow light that this figure was made of was a gentle colour to begin with.

When this figure finished forming, its hand suddenly came out and grabbed the staff.

After grabbing the staff, it turned to look at us, though we couldn’t see a face since it was just a figure of light and couldn’t figure out what it was thinking.

It just stood there in silence for a bit before finally stepping forward.

Gao Fu Shuai and the four beasts tensed when they saw this figure of light coming towards us, but I tapped them lightly and shook my head to show that it was fine.

Though they didn’t attack the figure of light, it didn’t seem like they were letting their guards down.

In the end, the figure of light didn’t come all the way forward.

It stopped just in front of us before bringing the staff up.

Gao Fu Shuai and the four beasts tensed up again as if they were afraid that it would do something, but I stopped them once more before narrowing my eyes to look at the figure of light.

In the end, the figure of light turned the staff sideways and lifted it up as if it was presenting it forward.

With the way that it was holding it, it was almost as if it was trying to give us this staff instead of using it to harm us.

After it lifted it up like this, the yellow light that was around the staff seemed to lift it into the air and it slowly floated towards us.

I once again stopped Gao Fu Shuai and the beasts before reaching out to grab this staff.

After grabbing it, I could feel a warm feeling coming from it and nothing else.

The figure of light looked at me and said in a soft and gentle voice, "Thank you."

Then without even waiting for a response, it just disappeared without a trace.

I looked at where the figure of light had been standing before softly saying, "You’re welcome."
