Way of Overlord-Chapter 296: A Long and Old Story
Chapter 296: A Long and Old Story
Why was he shocked?
Because of the destiny he sees radiating from this person.
This man truly has a great destiny waiting for him to be fulfilled
What is amazing though, was that this destiny should not even appears.
It is mixed with calamity aura.
Actually, there is reason why Angah stay more than just a few days in the Esbizuk tribe.
It is because the weird aura of this tribe. This tribe should not have...been this strong. There is calamity cloud in this tribe. Yet, this calamity cloud is dispersing, and fortune is enveloping the entire tribe.
It should not be so. This calamity is ordained and destined. But something happened. And that something changes the trajectory of this tribe.
And then he saw Dama.
And when he sees him, he sees a glimpse of the possible future of this chief. He has the fate of breaking a country.
A conqueror and a powerful warrior. And not only that he also sees the glimpse of the young man beside Dama, and he could see that this man life and death relates heavily to the fortune of Dama.
Rising together, falling together.
But that is not the only thing that he had seen. He could also see a faint aura of fortune that would be coming to this tribe in a couple of months
He did not know what that fortune is but from what he could tell, once Dama grasped this fortune, it would be like he is a tiger getting wings.
This fate of Dama is actually should not be.
The calamity in his life should have ended him but now calamity aura around him is receding and instead, a vigour of life, a dab of fortune is now growing on him
Angah realized this as he travels across the tribes. All of this must have something to do with the fate of changing destinies.
Someone had changed the supposed trajectory and the fortune of the Great Steppe that was about to be exhausted is roaring again and its roar is reverberating all across the four corners of the Great Steppe
Dama has a great destiny, this is something he now had confirmed.
But, he did not cast his vote to enter the Esbizuk tribe
Because he could see the fatal flaw of Dama. And he could see that bamboo that does not bend, break
His method is harsh and his conduct is severe.
If he is young and brave, wanting to become immortalized in the stories of their people, following Dama would allow them to make an achievement for the ages
But he is not young nor he is brave.
He would not cast his vote to Dama and instead he decided to check another person
heart calls out to the young boy whose stories captivated him
He then went to Brolgadhr tribe and the first thing he could see was the amount of fortune that is gathering above the clouds of the settlement of the Brolgadhr tribe.
In fact, even before he goes to the settlement, the area that should be under the rule of the Brolgadhr tribe is filled with this aura of fortune.
It is the thickest aura of fortune he had saw since he started his journey and he could not help but feel that this is the place where he could meet the Destined One.
These fortune aura is hovering all over the tribe and for it to have any effect, action should be taken and this fortune which is the Will of the Heaven and Earth would aid in an unexpected way.
Some people could even use these fortune aura to conjure some kind of natural phenomenon approved by heaven and earth
When he arrived, he announces himself to the Ashana of the tribe and he was welcomed by the Elders of the tribe.
And since he is quite famous, he was prepared to be summon by the Kan.
And that man is finally sitting in front of him. Aeryon has been judging his abilities. But he was also judging Aeryon.
He wanted to know whether he is a wise person. Would he listen to bad advice? Would he listen to unpleasant word and accept it if its true?
or would he only accept opinions and advice and words that only echo his own minds?
Is he broad minded?
Is he one sided?
What is his strength?
What is his fatal flaw?
Usually, he would have been able to judge all of that by now. When he sees Vihur chief tribe, one glance and he could tell that the Vihur tribe fatal flaw is impetuousness.
He could see a glimpse where this chief would die because of his impetuousness. He could see him in battle, his body cut through with a glaive carved with a dragon motif, the cause is impetuousness of the heart.
The great ambition is extinguished, a great chief falls in shame!
When he sees Dama, he saw that the young chief fatal flaw is his arrogance. This arrogance will lead him to make a mistake and that mistake would make his fiery ambition grows cold.
But the one in front of him....it is like there is a fog. He could not guess. And he could not divine it.
But Ashana Angah has experienced many things in his life. He is still calm as ever appearing not to be affected by anything, acting naturally without bringing any suspicion to himself.
Even Aeryon could not see that anything is different from him.
"What a curious kind of person!" Ashana Angah thought to himself.
"I don’t know what kind of person you are. The more it si like this, more I am curious" he thought to himself.
.....
There is silence in the tent but then Ashana Angah focused back on his current situation and he recalls back his memories about what he is just talking about with the chief and then he remembers what they were talking about
Aeryon himself feel a bit weird to be stared at by the Ashana for that long. But it is common for this Ashana to do this.
So, Ashana Angah complicated thoughts is hidden from Aeryon.
As for the Ashana Angah, he remembers now what he is about to talk about. He smiles bitterly
"The question you ask....is quite...complicated" he mutters.
Spirit of the Great Steppe.
He does not know where the Kan hear these words
It is mention in stories of course but the young generation only treated it like a story.
Nobody ever come to him asking for the explanation of what the Spirit of the Great Steppe was.
And those who knows what the Spirit of the Great Steppe is usually the Ashana and the Wizancai and a few strange people in the world that studies the ancient inheritance of those people in ages past.
"My Kan, I didn’t know where you heard the term of the Spirit of the Great Steppe. But the story is long"
"Then make it short" The old Ashana hearing Aeryon words could not help but chuckle
"If the Kan wishes it, I would do that"
Then Ashana Angah explain to him in a simple way what is the Spirit of the Great Steppe.
Finished listening it, Aeryon look at the Ashana with a miffed expression.
The short explanation of what the Spirit of the Great Steppe is so confusing, devoid of context and devoid of meaning.
In other words, it is better not to say it if you are going to say it like that. Some of the words that the Ashana said seems to even loan a few words of the Ashran and the Eresian because some of the words of Marynku could not explain some of the terms and meaning that the Ashana tries to convey to him
The more it is like this, the more he is angry. But he could not get angry at the Ashana. After all, he was the one that told the Ashana to talk to him in simple terms
And if he is angry after doing such thing, where would he put his pride.
Aeryon could only sigh.
"Now, my Kan, how is my explanation?" Aeryon could see the smirk on the Ashana face. But he could not get angry at this Ashana. This Ashana did not lie to him, did not harm him hence there is no reason to punish him
"Elaborate then" Hearing this the Ashana nodded
Aeryon found out that the simple version is too simple and in the end, he still have to listen to the lore and the stories
And the Ashana began telling the story. Some fo this story is mixed with myths and exaggeration.
It started way before the Old Empires and long before the heroes and villains of these lands stake their claims.
It started during the Age of Gods and continue on into the ages after that
The story is long.
But Aeryon does admit that he had learned something.
The incense smell helps him focus and every once in a while the Ashana would knock the ground and the vibration and the sound of that knock would make him focus on the story once again.
And only after that, Aeryon have a bit of understanding of the Spirit of the Great Steppe
But the more he know about it, the more he felt like he does not understand it.
Aeryon come out from the Ashana tent looking very confused. He walk away from the tent and walk to his horse that tied near the wooden hanging near the Ashana tent.
He look back at the tent with a complicated expression.
"how the hell should I seek the Spirit of the Great Steppe like this?" he mutters to himself.
