Chapter 182: Chapter 182: The Man in the Video Is Me

All eyes were drawn to the screen as guests began to murmur amongst themselves.

"Is this a mistake? Why would they suddenly play this?"

"The woman in the video looks a little familiar."

"Isn’t that Vivian Quinn! And that’s the dress she was wearing today!"

"Where did Vivian Quinn go?"

Curiosity piqued, many people looked around but couldn’t see any sign of Vivian Quinn.

"Vivian Quinn is gone. Could the person in the video really be her?"

"It’s definitely her! That’s the hallway of this hotel in the video, I recognize it!"

A few young masters hurried over to find Ian Sterling, who was drinking. "Go and see! Your aunt is in trouble!"

Ian Sterling had no interest in Shirley Wentworth’s affairs, so he’d been drinking and chatting with people in a corner. The commotion jolted him to his senses. He shot up and rushed over. "What happened to Vivian Quinn!"

The video was still playing on a loop. Ian Sterling took a closer look, and it really was Vivian Quinn!

And the man in the video could not possibly be his uncle, who was in a wheelchair!

A sense of panic seized Ian Sterling. He quickly pulled out his phone to call Vivian Quinn, but no one answered!

A small smile played on Shirley Wentworth’s lips, but her face was a mask of concern as she ordered the staff, "Turn off the video, quickly! This must be a misunderstanding. Miss Quinn would never do something like this!"

Ian Sterling glared at Shirley Wentworth. "What did Vivian Quinn do?"

Shirley Wentworth said, "Ian, don’t be angry. I was just trying to explain."

Ian Sterling ignored her. Just as he was about to go look for Vivian Quinn, he saw her walking in from outside!

"Vivian Quinn!" Overjoyed, Ian Sterling rushed forward. "Where did you go? Are you okay?"

Vivian Quinn smiled at him. "I’m fine."

Shirley Wentworth’s heart tightened. ’How could Vivian Quinn be back so soon!’

She forced herself to remain calm and walked over, asking with concern, "Miss Quinn, are you all right? Why have you changed your clothes?"

Vivian Quinn was now wearing a different black long dress. Her hair, which had been tied up, was now down, giving her a cold and bewitching aura, like a rose blooming in the dead of night.

"There was a small incident, so I just changed my clothes," Vivian Quinn said with a serene smile. "Miss Wentworth, why is everyone staring at me? Aren’t you supposed to be the main character today?"

"Miss Quinn, we had a small incident here as well." Shirley Wentworth pointed to the large screen. "Take a look. Is the person in the video you?"

Vivian Quinn glanced at it and admitted frankly, "It is."

Shirley Wentworth hadn’t expected her to admit it so readily. She was stunned for a moment before continuing, "Miss Quinn, how could you have a private rendezvous with a man on an occasion like this? Have you even considered Jett’s feelings?"

Vivian Quinn picked up a nearby champagne flute and took a delicate sip. She spoke unhurriedly, "Miss Wentworth, you seem so considerate of my husband. It looks like you want to take my place to care for Jett."

Shirley Wentworth froze. "I’m telling the truth!"

Miles Wentworth stepped forward to back her up. "Shirley Wentworth bore Master Sterling’s child. She should have been the rightful Mrs. Sterling all along. A shameless woman like you should just step aside."

Ian Sterling exploded. "What did you say, Miles Wentworth? Say that again if you dare! Believe it or not, I can make sure you don’t walk out of here!"

Miles Wentworth was brazen. "What, I don’t even have the right to speak the truth?"

"No, you really don’t," Ian Sterling said, looking down on him. "Why don’t you take a look in the mirror and see what kind of person you are? Who are you to pass judgment on a member of the Sterling Family?"

Miles Wentworth was practically seething, but the disparity in their statuses was clear, and he didn’t dare to retort.

Shirley Wentworth put on a wronged expression. "Miss Quinn, you’ve misunderstood. I have no intention of coveting Jett. The only reason I held this banquet today was so Elle wouldn’t be mistaken for some illegitimate child of unknown origin."

"But I do feel that, as a woman, you really shouldn’t be getting a room with another man behind your husband’s back. This is a matter of morality."

A few female guests couldn’t help but chime in, "As expected of a lady from a prestigious family, Shirley Wentworth has such strong morals."

"I’d never met this Mrs. Sterling before, but I heard she had an illegitimate child. I figured she must be a person with no bottom line, and it turns out I was right."

"A person like that, even if she weren’t ugly or crippled, would still be unworthy of Master Sterling..."

Just as Ian Sterling was about to step forward and speak, Vivian Quinn stopped him.

"What are you doing?" Ian Sterling asked. "Are you just going to let them slander you?"

Vivian Quinn was curious. "You saw the video, and you saw that I changed my clothes. Didn’t you connect that to what they’re saying?"

"Bah! Who do you take me for!" Ian Sterling said, displeased. "Others might not know you, but I do! How could you possibly do something like that!"

Vivian Quinn was deeply touched. "Ian Sterling, thank you."

"There’s nothing to thank me for."

Vivian Quinn looked at the maid taking care of Elle and said, "Please take Elle to the lounge. I don’t want him to see or hear what’s about to happen."

The maid didn’t dare to act on her own and subconsciously glanced at Shirley Wentworth.

After Shirley Wentworth nodded, Elle was quickly led away.

Only then did Vivian Quinn continue, "The woman in the video is indeed me. And I did go into the room with that man."

The entire room was in an uproar!

Ian Sterling frowned. "Vivian Quinn, what nonsense are you talking about?"

"I haven’t finished speaking. What’s the rush?" Vivian Quinn gave a serene smile and raised her voice. "I don’t know if everyone here has seen my husband, but anyone who has knows how breathtakingly handsome he is. It’s no exaggeration to say that after being with him, I find it very hard to be attracted to other men. I’m certainly not desperate enough to get a room with some other man on an occasion like this."

"The reason for the scene in that video is because I was drugged. As for what kind of drug, I don’t need to elaborate. Everyone here is smart enough to guess."

"What did you say?" Ian Sterling asked anxiously. "You were drugged? Who did it! Are you okay?"

"I’m fine."

Miles Wentworth seized on the perceived loophole. "So, Mrs. Sterling, what you’re saying is that you were drugged, so you just grabbed a random man and got a room to ’take care of it,’ is that right?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Miles Wentworth, shut your mouth!" Ian Sterling’s fists clenched.

"She said it herself. What’s the use of me shutting up? Everyone heard it," Miles Wentworth said righteously. "It seems Mrs. Sterling feels that because she was drugged, it wouldn’t be her fault even if she did sleep with the man in the video. Perhaps Master Sterling is magnanimous enough to forgive her."

A sinister smirk appeared on Miles Wentworth’s lips. "I just wonder who the man in the video is, to be so fortunate as to share a woman with Master Sterling..."

"You..."

Just as Ian Sterling was about to charge forward and hit him, a deep and powerful man’s voice came from the entrance. "The man in the video is me. Do you have a problem with that?"
