When Did I Become An Artifact Dealer?!-Chapter 60: Grand Melee
BANG! ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฐ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ฒ๐ฅ.๐๐๐
Cail shot the speaker with his rifle. It was overkill, but enough to vent his frustration. It was irritating to hear his own voice targeting him like that.
Is this piece of shit a parallel version of me?!
Veyr was confused. He looked at the fallen speaker in shock then at Cail. "What do we do now?" His lips were pale from fear.
"Little brat! Why are you panicking?!" Cail slung his rifle back over his shoulder. "Iโm the one being targeted, not you."
He slammed his tiny fist against Cailโs legs. Veyr was crying, "You scum! Iโm sure you wonโt let me go so youโll probably be dragging me around like a tail! Even if I escape, you would find a way to pull me back to your boat!" While he looked pretty ugly crying blood mixed with tears, one could say that he did have an understanding of Cail.
Cail carried him. The bulge on the ground vanished, so there was nothing left to explore here. This tunnel was well hidden, but not knowing where the other exit led was bad.
He ran through the tunnel. A sharp pain still poked at his internal organs.
"It was fortunate that he did not say what my ability is." But Cail could understand. He knew that Virehn, a person with a similar ability to his own, probably didnโt want to know Cailโs ability since both of them have the same ability.
"There should be a way to track me," Cail reasoned. He had no reference for what kind of person Virehn was, so Cail had to use himself.
"If it was me, Iโd attach some kind of tracker to the key in order to track the holder if I was doing a hunting game." Cail hadnโt seen anything so far, so he had no idea what it was. "But Iโm the basis. This hunting game is going to be grand, exciting, and bloody."
"FUCKER!" Cail screamed. "That guy just randomly played with me unprovoked, surely Iโm not like that?!"
Then he heard a thud. He looked up and saw the entire tunnel begin to collapse.
It wasnโt a domino type of collapse, but a sudden heavy fall.
"Fuck!" He cursed once again. Bitch Virehn really knew what his weakness was. Definitely because they have the same ability.
But fortunately, because he had been running the moment he felt odd, he could see a bright light from the other side of the tunnel. He just needed to run faster.
"How the heck do you outrun falling debris?! I didnโt study this!" Cail yelled.
Then he finally decided to do somethingโhe touched Veyrโs stomach and unlocked the seal.
"Little master! Do something or weโll both be buried!"
No need for Cail to say anything. The moment Cail released the seal, Veyr let out a gut-wrenching scream, "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
It created a shockwave. It was good, but it attacked everything indiscriminately. Cail was also affected, but in a good way... FUCK NO, it was not great, but he managed to find a way to use it to his advantage.
He used the shock to rocket himself out of the tunnel.
The moment the two of them fell on the other side, Cail felt like dying. "Bullshit... Iโm probably bleeding internally."
But he didnโt stop. He stood staggeringly and continued running. Because if he were Virehn, heโd probably think that this was not enough.
To be honest, he had never been this pathetic before. If that Virehn was still alive, heโd show him what real grandeur is.
Then, maybe out of helplessness, just as he was contemplating praying, he looked up and saw a reddish cloud... only above his head.
Cail had a smile that looked uglier than crying. "So this is what is tracking me?" If it was something else, he could remove it. But a cloud floating above his head? What was he supposed to do with that?
Then he felt something blast into his shoulder.
"Watch out!" Veyrโs warning was late. Cail was sure it was deliberate, but itโs not yet the time to teach this kid a lesson.
Cail looked back sharply and saw a guy holding a sword. Because of his null, that pure void energy just penetrated him.
"You!" The man was startled when he saw his attack pass through. But Cail wasnโt idiot enough to let him strike again.
BANG!
It was a headshot. The skull shattered like a clay vase, and brains splattered everywhere. The manโs eyes revealed disbelief. Never would he have thought heโd be taken down by a bullet so easily.
Of course, that shouldnโt be the case, but Cail modified his bullet.
Cail felt the recoil. His posture wasnโt the best, but fortunately, his body was strengthened, or else heโd probably dislocate his shoulder.
He looked back and saw different auras of void energy rushing in his direction... FAST.
"I canโt escape," Cail concluded.
Does he give up that easily? The answer is no. "Since thatโs the case, then Iโll stop restraining myself."
...
Airesโs journey towards the red clouds wasnโt easy. They encountered other void users from different organizations and fought with them.
"Brother Aires, who do you think found the key?" Sirae asked.
Aires was covered in blood. Not his blood. "I donโt know. But I have a guessโcould it be that man?"
Sirae pouted. "I donโt think so. That guy looked like an unaffiliated void user. Typically, they are weak and stupid."
"Donโt talk like that." Aires disagreed with what Sirae said. "All of us are void users. I donโt see any difference. If we are competent, I donโt see why they wouldnโt be."
Then he added, "Where did you get that belief? Your sister doesnโt think that way. You should stop hanging out with those other siblings of yours. They are a bad influence."
Siraeโs eyes flashed a hostile look, but her voice was still sweet and obedient. "Yes, brother."
Is she hostile because Aires scolded her, or about the mention of her sister?
Other void users were already ahead of them. Like the chairman, Tyrant, old Seban, and others. Of course, other powerhouses from other organizations were probably already there too.
One could say that whoever had that key would surely not make it out of this rift alive.
