When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 1036: I Can’t Really Kick Grandpa Out, Can I?
As soon as Faye Turner opened the door, the old man saw her, his face kindly and full of smiles—
"Grandpa."
"Faye! Look what Grandpa brought you!" The old man was holding a dragon-headed cane in one hand and a durian in the other.
Faye saw it looked heavy, quickly reached out to take it, "Thank you, Grandpa, please come in! Adrian is cooking dumplings."
The old man stepped into the house, and Faye opened the door wider, "Please come in." As there were two more people standing outside, she also politely welcomed them.
"Hello, Madam." These were the old master’s subordinates, they greeted her respectfully.
"Please come in, don’t worry about changing shoes." Faye politely hosted them.
The two stood still, one of them replied, "We won’t come in, our task is completed once we’ve safely delivered the old gentleman. Goodbye."
After speaking, they respectfully bowed again and turned to enter the elevator.
Faye was a bit stunned, wasn’t Grandpa being picked up to go home? Or perhaps they would come to pick him up later?
The old man had already entered, and without thinking much, she turned around and closed the door.
Grandpa smelled the aroma of dumplings and happily headed to the kitchen, "Are these corn and mushroom fillings?"
Adrian Lancaster was wearing an apron, cooking dumplings, he glanced back and said, "Grandpa, you’re here? Yes, there are corn ones, and mushroom ones too! Please sit outside, they’ll be ready soon."
"Seeing you two together really makes me happy!" The old man thought of the warm pictures from the news and couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear.
"Grandpa, how many would you like to eat? Give me a number, and I’ll serve you!" Adrian asked, "They’re already cooked."
"I want to eat fifteen dumplings! Are there enough?"
At this moment, Faye came over, quickly replied, "Grandpa, there’s more than enough, we made four hundred in total today, filled up the entire freezer."
"This is the real taste of life! This is what life should be. Adrian, having a wife at home is a blessing, you must cherish it well!"
The louder Grandpa’s voice, the more embarrassed Faye felt, even daring not to look at Adrian, whose gaze always made her heart burn.
And in the kitchen, Adrian loudly responded, "Don’t worry, Grandpa! I will cherish her well! You said, a wife like this is hard to find even with a lantern!"
Grandpa sat down at the dining chair and placed his cane down, "In the future, when you’re busy with work at night and get hungry, you can have clean and hygienic dumplings."
Then Grandpa praised Faye for being virtuous, his words full of affection for her, just like in the past.
Adrian began serving the dumplings, and Faye helped to bring them over; finally, the house felt warm and homely.
Just like the beginning, like the early days of their sudden marriage.
"So fragrant, Grandpa loves dumplings the most." The old man was very happy, "Thank you, Faye."
From the moment he walked in, he hadn’t stopped smiling.
"You’re welcome, I’ll get you some chopsticks."
Faye also made him a cup of tea, then handed over the chopsticks, "Grandpa, having dumplings with us here is like opening a mystery box."
"Oh? What does that mean?"
"Because each dumpling has different fillings, we mixed them up." Adrian brought over some small dishes too, "Faye says it adds more flavor to life this way."
The old man sat down at the dining chair, took the chopsticks, "So that’s it, come, sit, you two as well."
He picked up a dumpling, blew on it, and then put it in his mouth, "Mushroom filling, so delicious!"
"If Grandpa likes it, you can take a pack of dumplings home later," Faye said, "We’ve already packed some specially for you, all mushroom-filled."
Unexpectedly, the old man looked up, chewing as he replied, "Grandpa’s not going home tonight!"
Faye was momentarily stunned, the first thought flashing in her mind was: There are only two bedrooms here! If he doesn’t go home, where will Grandpa stay?
But with a senior guest here, she couldn’t possibly ask him to leave, right?
"Faye, what are you standing still for? Dumplings need to be eaten while they’re hot, come sit!" Grandpa happily beckoned her.
