When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 1038: What Should We Do Tonight?
Faye Turner felt a bit awkward and looked up at Adrian Lancaster, who was already happily tidying up, thoroughly enjoying the feeling of doing housework.
Then Grandpa pulled Faye into the living room, "Come, child, have a seat."
She sat with Grandpa in a single armchair; this afternoon, the sofas in this room had been moved, something Faye was unaware of.
Afraid she might take a little blanket and nest on the sofa for the night, Adrian Lancaster worried she wouldn’t agree to share the bed with him.
If they don’t sleep together, the relationship can’t warm up.
"Faye, if Adrian doesn’t do something well in the future, just tell him directly. If he doesn’t listen, you can call Grandpa. I’ll take care of him!" The old man’s attitude was identical to last time, his position very clear.
Faye’s face showed a smile, "He’s very good." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Seeing Faye’s acknowledgment of Adrian, the old man was very pleased, looking at her with eyes full of affection, "Faye, you’re even prettier than before, though you were always beautiful."
"Thank you." Her voice was gentle, carrying a motherly quality.
Tonight, the old man really didn’t plan to leave. His cheerful mood was written on his face as he leaned back into the armchair, looking around, "Adrian’s taste has always been like this, clean and cold, even the decor lacks warmth, following a minimalist style."
"Grandpa..." Faye spoke softly.
The old man snapped back to attention, his gaze returning to her, "What’s the matter, child? Want to say something? You don’t need to worry, just talk to Grandpa?"
For her own benefit, Faye bravely expressed herself, "Are you really not planning to go back tonight?"
"That’s right, I’ll sleep in the guest room. The bed is small, but it doesn’t matter. Grandpa has the best sleep posture at night, lying still and never falling, so you can rest easy!" The old man understood her mind but pretended not to know.
Since Grandpa said that, what else could she do?
Faye blinked, smiled, nodded, and remained silent.
Is it rude to directly ask Grandpa to leave?
Grandpa is a good grandfather, a capitalist who still considers the people, which was very favorable in Faye’s heart.
"Grandpa, you sit for a while. I’ll make you some tea." She got up and left, working to adjust her mood.
What to do tonight...
Adrian Lancaster was washing dishes in the kitchen, unable to help but think of the night they had a flash wedding, when Grandpa also came over...
This time, he definitely doesn’t want to use drugs on her.
It’s the most basic respect; the drug use last time had been Grandpa’s idea, unrelated to him.
He loves her and won’t force her to do anything she doesn’t want.
Faye made tea and went out; Grandpa hardly drank any, then took his cane and got up, saying he was sleepy, and directly went into the guest room, closing and locking the door behind him.
Faye stared dumbly at the closed door, and upon returning to her senses, met Adrian Lancaster’s gaze.
With just the two of them left in the room, the warm yellow light enveloped him and her.
"You must be tired today too, right?" His voice was gentle, "I’ll go to the study to reply to an email; you can rest first. I’ve already put your bathing clothes in the bathroom, whether you prefer a shower or a bath. If you need help, you can tell me."
"No, no..." she quickly replied, "No need for help, you go ahead with your work." She was utterly embarrassed.
Seeing her awkwardness, Adrian Lancaster nodded and turned to leave, heading toward the study.
It was only after watching the door close gently that Faye quietly let out a breath, closed her eyes, clenched her teeth, and turned to walk toward the master bedroom...
