Chapter 1043: Chapter 1043: A Sensible Grandfather

"Good morning." She quickly replied, then lifted her sore neck slightly, "Hurry and move your hand, it must be numb from being under me."

Actually, it was, but Adrian Lancaster shook his head and smiled, "No, no, did you sleep well last night?" As he withdrew his hand, he endured the prickly sensation, masking it with a smile.

That arm didn’t even feel like his own!

When asked about her sleep last night, Faye Turner avoided his gaze. Even though they were both fully dressed and nothing had happened, her cheeks were still flushed with embarrassment.

Adrian Lancaster didn’t stare at her either.

After Faye got out of bed and put on her shoes, he also got up, took her by the hand, and without a word, led her into the walk-in closet.

It was a hidden door, just a push away, which Faye hadn’t noticed yesterday.

Behind the door was a large walk-in closet, with floor-to-ceiling windows, over a hundred square feet.

Different styles of clothes were hung in each compartment, sorted by color, with sensor lights.

"These clothes are all yours." Adrian Lancaster released her hand, looking at her gently. "Some are ones you used to like a lot, and some I got for you recently. You can pick whichever you like to wear. I’ll go make breakfast for you first."

With that, he turned and left, leaving the girl standing there in a daze. By the time she looked toward the door, his figure had already disappeared.

Fretting over not having a change of clothes to wear, the considerate him had already prepared everything in advance.

Because they had dumplings last night, Adrian Lancaster didn’t make them again this morning, fearing she’d get tired of eating them for two consecutive meals.

He had bought quite a lot of groceries yesterday and put them in the fridge, including ingredients for making rice rolls. Adrian Lancaster was very good at it, having made them for his daughter, Joy, who especially loved to eat them.

After washing up, he tied on an apron, took ingredients out from the fridge, and began preparing breakfast. Yes, the kitchen was his domain.

Faye was not very particular about her attire, so she casually picked a dress, tied her hair simply, washed her face, and walked out of the bedroom.

When she stepped out in her new clothes, just after closing the bedroom door, she caught the delightful aroma of rice rolls.

At that moment, the door of the guest room also opened, and the old man, with his dragon-head cane, came out energetically.

"Good morning, Grandpa," Faye promptly greeted the elder, "Did you sleep well last night?"

"Very comfortable, very used to it. The mattress Adrian Lancaster chose is really great for the back!" The old man chuckled as he walked towards her, "Good morning, good morning. How about you? Did you sleep well?"

Faye smiled faintly and simply nodded. She didn’t divulge much about the details.

Seeing the smile on her face, Grandpa felt reassured.

"Faye, tell Adrian that Grandpa has to leave for something." The old man said, turning and stepping towards the door.

"Grandpa!" The dutiful Faye hurried to catch up, "Won’t you have breakfast before you go? He’s already making it." The aroma was detectable.

"No, no." The old man opened the room door, and Faye saw the two attendants who brought Grandpa over last night standing outside, wearing the same suits as yesterday—

"Good morning, Old Master, Madame," they greeted respectfully in unison.

With Grandpa adamant about leaving, Faye couldn’t insist on detaining him, especially since the people meant to pick him up were already there.

So Faye gave them a few instructions, "Take care on the road. Grandpa just got up without even a drink of warm water."

"Don’t worry, Madame, we have warm water prepared in the car."

With that, everyone said their goodbyes and headed towards the elevator.

It was obvious Grandpa wanted to give the young couple more time alone. He didn’t want to be the third wheel anymore.
