When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 579: Jealous, So Jealous
She swayed her way through the door, a radiant, charming smile on her face—
"Mr. Moss, it’s a pleasure, a pleasure to meet you. Hello, my name is Meghan!" She introduced herself confidently, reaching out to Byron Moss.
Out of courtesy, Byron extended his hand gentlemanly.
Kylie Fletcher held her breath, her eyes wide, because she saw Byron shaking hands with that woman!!
A surge of jealousy arose!
"These are my daughters. Nowadays, handwriting is truly important, I’ve heard it’s all evaluated on computers."
"Yes, writing is very important," Byron replied, gentle and refined.
Kylie watched the young girl named Meghan, full of admiration in her eyes as she looked at Byron, her eyes seemingly glued to him from the moment she entered.
"Mr. Moss, I have decided to entrust my two daughters to you, as long as you’re still in this town."
Kylie listened annoyedly, Byron isn’t the children’s father! What is it about! Studying calligraphy isn’t supposed to be this ambiguous!
Her fingers froze on the bookshelf, her face turned slightly pale, feeling blocked inside!
What to do?
Generally, it’s the mothers who manage the children’s studies, while the fathers remain hands-off, so Byron encounters all these young mothers here!!
Observing the entire morning, Kylie felt a strong sense of crisis, inevitably feeling sad and jealous.
If only she could be here with him, how wonderful would that be?
For the entire morning, Byron was busy receiving parents, with 138 children successfully registered and payments scanned.
Kylie, however, could not be happy.
Until noon, finally he had a break, parents took the last child away, Byron closed the door and came before Kylie.
In fact, he hadn’t forgotten she was there, he was just busy.
At that moment, Kylie was sitting alone in the study, sulking, pouting in a daze.
Upon hearing footsteps, she only seemed to come back to her senses, without raising her eyes.
Byron could feel her unhappiness, bending down to offer her a cup of warm milk, "Fletcher, thanks for your hard work today."
The girl’s gaze fell on the milk cup, dazed for a moment, his fingers long and lovely, knuckles distinct and fair.
But, he had shaken hands with so many young mothers!!
In the entire reading room, all books had been categorized by her, Byron saw earlier, he was quite moved, it certainly made finding books easier.
"Kylie?" His voice soft, changing his form of address. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
The girl came back to her senses, reached out to take it, then slightly tilted her head to sip, remembering those young mothers, her chest still felt suffocated.
Though she highly trusted Byron’s character, there was no way he’d flirt with those married women.
But she loved him too deeply, inevitably causing wild thoughts.
Simply put, when truly in love with someone, even if he merely brushed past a sow, jealousy is uncontrollable.
"The books you brought, are they ones you’ve read yourself? Or... obtained from other sources?" Byron was intrigued because they all weren’t new, showing clear signs of being read, some quite aged.
Kylie looked up at him, asking, "Is it that I can’t read books? You see me as a vase?"
Such a heavy streak of resistance in this young girl?
He shook his head, "Not at all, I’m just... a little surprised you have read so many classics."
"All of them are from my own bookshelf," Kylie straightforwardly informed him, "Started in junior high, re-read in high school, again in college, and after graduation too, each time opening them brings new insights."
Byron stood beside her, gazing down at her profile, listening to those words emerge from her rosy lips, with a hint of pride, inadvertently spilling a grin across his lips.
A girl who loves reading is most charming, holding literature like valleys, with poetry and books radiating inherent beauty.
"What’s your favorite book?" He sat down in the adjacent chair, today suddenly having a desire to know more about her.
