When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 955: The Miraculous Blood Connection
Magically, Gia’s gaze was also deeply attracted to this little cutie.
Such an adorable child, as beautiful as an angel, fair and tender, certainly a remedy for the weary life! Those genes are incredible! It makes one want to give a kiss!
When Adrian Lancaster saw his daughter, his aura softened instantly.
The child reached out for him to hold, and he, like a loving father, took her as if receiving a cherished gift, full of joy, bending slightly and handling with care.
"Daddy, daddy..." No sooner had the child landed in his arms, she turned her head and excitedly called Gia—
"Mommy! Mommy, mommy!"
Everyone was stunned, only to see the little one stretch out her tiny hands, leaning forward, wanting a hug from her!
Gia looked around and saw no other woman.
Even though she felt the child was reaching for her, she couldn’t act rashly.
"Mommy, mommy..." The child’s soft, milky voice came, eagerly lunging towards her.
Adrian Lancaster instinctively took a couple of steps forward, holding his daughter.
Gia felt her heart flutter, meeting the father’s gaze, then looking at the child, also finding the little one adorable.
But the child kept calling her mommy... She stood there dazed, a bit at a loss.
To respond seemed presumptuous, especially since it’s The Lancaster Family, everyone was eager to get connected.
But to not respond seemed impolite, especially since it was a child...
"Mommy, mommy..." The little one kicked her tiny legs, reaching out towards her, eager for a hug, her face turning red with urgency.
Adrian Lancaster did not stop his daughter’s behavior. Gia stepped forward, with a smile, stretching out her hands to the little one, "Come, let Auntie give you a hug!"
During the transfer of the child, Adrian Lancaster and Gia’s fingers met, and he seemed to catch a faint scent of herbal medicine emanating from her.
For a moment, Adrian Lancaster stared at her, his eyes full of disbelief, surprise, and shock engulfed his heart.
Nathan Xavier was also surprised, watching Gia embrace the Lancaster family’s little one, and as soon as the child was in her arms she clung to her neck, as if very familiar and intimate, with no sign of shyness.
Once Gia held little Joy, the calling of "mommy" ceased, but Joy wriggled in her arms! With a cute smile on her face all along, it was evident the child was very happy!
This scene astonished everyone around.
Especially Adrian Lancaster, who just stared at them... This young girl, her resemblance to Faye, kept overlapping in front of his eyes!
For a few seconds, he actually mistook her for Faye!
His heart surged with excitement and joy, but a sliver of reasoned thought cautioned him.
She was not Faye! She was Nathan Xavier’s companion.
"So cute, sweetie, what’s your name?" Gia’s voice was gentle and seemed to have a natural affinity with children.
Nathan stood protectively to the side, concerned, "Can you manage holding her? Need me to take over?" After all, she was wearing an evening gown, not exactly suited for holding a child.
Yet Gia didn’t think about any of that, as she held the little cutie, a surge of maternal love overwhelmed her, for an instant she felt as if she were the child’s mother.
That sense of happiness was something she had never experienced before, and her empty heart seemed to fill.
Watching her hugging and interacting with the child as if no one else were around, Adrian Lancaster’s heart was also soothed, he restrained his gaze, his demeanor gentle.
Only Nathan felt slightly awkward, having just heard today about something happening with Mrs. Lancaster... but not knowing the specifics.
At this time, not all the guests and friends had arrived.
Simon Xavier’s car headed towards The Lockwood Old Manor, driven by the chauffeur.
Simon Xavier sat with his wife in the backseat, both in good spirits, taking a rare chance to relax together.
Occasions like tonight also offered a chance to see some old friends.
Just then, Mrs. Xavier’s phone rang, she took it from her bag and looked at the display, "It’s Rhiannon."
The middle-aged man turned to her, "Go ahead, answer it."
The woman slid the answer key and held the phone to her ear, "Rhiannon, where are you?"
"Mother, I’m in Argent. I heard you’re here too. When are you going back? Should I come find you? Go back together? Send your location to my WeChat!"
