When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 965: Please Believe Me
Mrs. Xavier went in, followed closely by Rhiannon Xavier, who in that moment was imagining countless wicked scenarios in her mind and feeling overjoyed.
But when everyone entered, the large drawing room was empty.
Simon Xavier swept his gaze around the room, then looked at his daughter.
"This... this is impossible!" Rhiannon’s face was pale. She anxiously glanced around, clearly remembering —
"I am not mistaken! President Lancaster grabbed her arm and dragged her in here!"
As she spoke, she rushed over, lifting the curtains like a madwoman, searching every possible hiding place!
Mrs. Xavier frowned slightly; initially, it was said that Gia was holding President Lancaster’s arm, and now it’s said that President Lancaster grabbed Gia’s arm. Which is true? Or, are both claims false?
Thankfully, nothing was discovered. Mrs. Xavier secretly breathed a sigh of relief, and her expression softened considerably.
Simon Xavier stood robustly in place, arms crossed, his cold gaze fixed on his daughter who was frantically searching.
Mr. Xavier’s feelings were complex beyond description.
"Father!" She realized she had been played, searched all around but found no one, and quickly approached him, "Please believe me! I saw it with my own eyes! I’m not lying to you!"
Simon Xavier lightly furrowed his brows, "Rhiannon..."
"Check the surveillance!" Rhiannon wouldn’t let go of this opportunity today. She suddenly thought she was being clever. "Check the surveillance! There must be surveillance outside! Father! We can check!"
She wanted to prove she wasn’t lying but forgot they were at someone else’s house.
But at this moment, Simon Xavier’s face was beyond unpleasant to look at.
"Father..." This daughter, however, had no perceptiveness and persisted in wanting to say something, her mind a chaotic mess, unable to form words.
Taking advantage of the absence of outsiders, he looked at his daughter, and before he could speak, Rhiannon was still incredulous, saying, "Father, I’m not lying, I really saw it, please believe me."
Sensing her husband’s displeasure, Mrs. Xavier finally spoke, "Rhiannon, I know you don’t like Gia, but to falsely accuse her like this..."
"Mother, you don’t believe me either?" She panicked, suddenly feeling isolated and helpless, at a loss for words.
At that moment, Simon Xavier turned and took steps to leave.
Mrs. Xavier glanced at her daughter, sighed lightly, and also turned to leave. Rhiannon stood alone in the room, feeling very unwilling.
When she stepped out, she had only taken a few steps before seeing Gia and her brother not far away, with her brother affectionately tidying her falling hair strands.
Her brother handed her a plate of desserts, which she took with both hands... and forked a small piece of cake into her mouth.
Their happy demeanor made Rhiannon very jealous.
How could this be?! She was clearly with President Lancaster!! For the first time, Rhiannon didn’t trust her own eyes.
Simon Xavier and Mrs. Xavier also saw this scene; wasn’t Gia with Nathan?
Why did Rhiannon have to falsely accuse them?
Ever since his daughter refused to go abroad, Simon Xavier had some ideas and speculations, "Violet, why didn’t Rhiannon want to go abroad? Is it because of Nathan?"
"Could she... perhaps like Nathan?" Mrs. Xavier suddenly realized something. Although there was no blood relation, they were nominally siblings.
"I won’t agree to it, what does it look like if that gets out?" Simon Xavier made his stance clear, "The Xavier family siblings being together? Is there a shortage of men and women in the world?"
Mrs. Xavier actually thought the same, "Then... what about Nathan and Gia? Would you approve of that?" she stopped walking, turned, and looked at him gently.
