While I Was Giving Love Advice to My Best Friend, the School's Most Beautiful Girl Somehow Became the Closest Person to Me-Chapter 8Volume 1 .2 - ※Alisas Wish
※Alisa’s Wish
*Asahina Alisa’s POV
“There are a lot of spectators.”
“It’s different from swimming.”
It’s my first time watching a basketball game. I’ve often gone to swimming competitions where my brother Shizuru or my childhood friend Kokoro participated, but I think team sports are different.
There’s quite a lot of support from our high school. Students in uniforms lined up… almost all girls?
Looking closer, the banners the girls were holding read “LOVE REO.” Could this be…
“Isn’t that Alisa and Shizuku?”
I turn toward a familiar voice. Among the cheering girls was Eri, a friend from the same class.
She has a gyaru-like appearance, but she’s fun to talk to, so we get along. She’s a different type of girl from me and Shizuku.
Now, when I’m with people other than Shizuku and Kogure-kun, I have to play the cool Asahina Alisa.
“What are you doing in a place like this?”
“What do you mean what? Obviously, I’m here to cheer for Reot.”
“Oh, you were approaching Hirasawa-kun. Is this cheer squad…”
“Yes, they’re all members of Reo’s fan club who admire him. We’ve decided to go to Reo’s games no matter where and when.”
There must be about twenty of them. They all have colorful towels and fans, and some girls even made homemade plushies.
I never thought ordinary classmates would go to such lengths to support someone.
“There’s a fan club, huh. Hirasawa-kun is that popular?”
“Are you the one to talk, Alisa?”
Eri gives me a look of disbelief. Shizuku then makes the same face.
“You have a fan club too, you know? I heard there are over a hundred members, including Senpai, underclassmen, and Sensei. I’ve heard that Suzuki and others from the same class are also members.”
“Oh, I had no idea. That’s news to me.”
“Alisa, I know you’re not interested in that kind of stuff. But you should be aware that you’re the most popular student at school.”

Shizuku threw a comment that sounded like both a warning and a criticism my way. Even so, the affection of boys I’m not interested in means nothing to me.
“What are you two doing here? Are you perhaps here to cheer on Reo?”
I saw Shizuku flinch slightly.
“Of course not. I have no interest in Hirasawa-kun. We were just hanging out after club activities, and we decided to stop by when we saw our high school’s name.”
“Ah, I see. It would be a big deal if Alisa cheered for Reo. You two would look good together, at least appearance-wise.”
That’s something I hear often.
They insistently say that the only one who matches me is Hirasawa-kun. But I have the right to choose, too, and I have no intention of fawning over a boy I don’t like, no matter how handsome or tall he is.
If I were to choose… it would be someone like him, someone with whom conversation flows easily, who is kind and makes me feel safe.
“That’s not true!”
“What isn’t?”
Both of them threw their questions at me.
“Um… Eri-san,”
Shizuku spoke up timidly.
“What happens to the fan club if Hirasawa-kun gets a girlfriend? I mean… would they blame her?”
Regardless of whether there’s a fan club or not, Shizuku harbors feelings for Hirasawa Reo. She’s probably scared of how she would be perceived by the dozens in the fan club if they started dating.
While I’m confident I could stand up to whatever anyone says, Shizuku isn’t as strong against such malice.
“Hmm… I’m not sure since Reo isn’t an idol or anything. He says he doesn’t need a girlfriend, but I think he’ll end up with one someday. I’m sure there will be girls who won’t like it, but I think if Reo chooses someone, that’s good enough for me. I’ll continue to support Reo while looking for someone new!”
“You’re strong.”
“Not really. I just don’t think about it too deeply.”
Come to think of it, before she fell for Hirasawa-kun, she used to change boyfriends quite frequently. Maybe she’s casually dating while searching for ‘the one.’
I couldn’t imagine doing that myself. I’d probably cling to one boy until death.
“Alisa, you look pale. What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing.”
“The fan club is having a celebration after this. Well then, I’m off! See you both later.”
Eri waved and returned to the group of fan club members. Not only Eri, but I also saw faces from our class among them.
I guess Hirasawa-kun really does have the charm to attract so many girls.
“…I feel like I’m losing confidence. Maybe it’s better if I’m not by Hirasawa-kun’s side.”
“You have me, Shizuku, and Hirasawa-kun will surely protect you. I’ll be the first to punch him if he seems like he won’t.”
“Hehe, I’m really glad to have you by my side, Alisa.”
“I wouldn’t be able to do anything without you either, so it’s mutual. Let’s go take our seats.”
Shizuku and I sat down a little away from the fan club members. It wasn’t a packed game, and from the front row of the second-floor seats, we could see the game perfectly.
I wonder when it’s going to start.
“Thank you both for coming.”
“Hya!”
While we were relaxing and waiting for the game to start, a voice suddenly called out from behind us. That long-awaited voice made my heart flutter uncontrollably.
He must have come because I sent him a message before entering the stadium. Ugh, I want to talk to him, but I can’t bring myself to face him for some reason.
I heard Shizuku’s voice.
“Hello, Kogure-kun. Good luck with the game.”
“Ah, well, I’m not a regular, so there’s a chance I might not play.”
“What about Hirasawa-kun?”
“Reo is a regular and the ace, so he’s discussing strategies with the starters. He’s really fired up, so I think he’ll do great. Maybe he wants someone to watch him.”
“Ugh, please tell him I’m cheering for him. Of course, if he doesn’t need it, I don’t mind… Alisa, how long are you going to hide your face?”
“Asahina-san, what’s wrong?”
Oh no. It’s our first time meeting today, and my face is turning incredibly red.
I mean, I only caught a glimpse, but he was wearing a short-sleeve shirt and half-pants uniform.
It’s so dangerous that I might even get a nosebleed. It’s precious, too precious, I feel like I’m going to faint.
“Ugh…”
“Asahina-san, are you okay?”
“I think Alisa is just overwhelmed with new emotions right now.”
“Is that so?”
“…!?”
Before I knew it, Kogure-kun had come up right in front of me. Then, raising his hand, he pressed his palm firmly against my forehead. His warm hand seemed to transfer heat through my forehead, raising my temperature.
Our eyes met. His gaze makes my heart beat so loudly I thought it could be heard.
