Who Let Him Cultivate?! (WX)-Chapter 651: Transaction
To be frank, the owner of the Nascent Transformation Pill was tempted. He was already in his twilight years, and coupled with excessive indulgence in his youth, his vitality was depleted; even Phoenix blood couldn’t help. That was why he wanted to carve out a future path for his descendants, hoping they could secure the backing of a major sect.
At the moment, it doesn’t seem like there’s hope to join a major sect. If I could get something to boost my yang and indulge myself in some pleasure instead, that seems fine too.
If my descendants are disappointing, can’t I just make more descendants?
My identity is well concealed; no one should be able to recognize me.
“How much per drop?”
“Ten thousand spirit stones per drop.”
“Words alone can’t be proof. How can I verify the blood’s authenticity?”
Meng Jingzhou chuckled lightly and took out a small porcelain bottle. “What’s difficult about that? This bottle contains one drop of blood. Consume and refine it, and you’ll know its effect.”
Methods in the cultivation world were mysterious and unfathomable. Cultivators of the Curse Lineage could cast curses from afar using blood, hair, and other items, making them nearly impossible to guard against.
This had long crossed Meng Jingzhou’s mind. The blood he brought today had been pre-treated, with all traces of the owner’s identity thoroughly erased.
The Nascent Transformation Pill’s owner took the small porcelain bottle skeptically and poured the blood onto his palm.
The drop of blood resembled a blood-red jade, lustrous and smooth, its origin clearly extraordinary. The yang energy it emitted was nothing to scoff at, evidently much higher than that of Phoenix blood.
This is good stuff.
The surrounding Nascent Soul old monsters watched the drop of blood without blinking, secretly revealing expressions of desire. If it was genuine, they needed to buy a bottle.
After ensuring the blood hadn’t been tampered with, the pill owner swallowed the drop and quietly refined it. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
There’s a reaction!
The pill owner’s face flushed. The blood’s effect was far stronger than he expected. His body reacted instinctively, and even activating his cultivation technique couldn’t eliminate the desire that coursed through him.
Meng Jingzhou was also somewhat surprised. I didn’t expect my blood’s effect to be so good.
As for being happy...it doesn’t seem like something worth being happy about.
“I’ll buy it!”
“Fifty thousand per drop.”
“You!”
“You can choose not to buy it,” Meng Jingzhou said sagely. The initiative is in my hands; I can sell it for however many spirit stones I wish.
“Fifty thousand it is then! Give me three drops!” the pill owner acquiesced through gritted teeth. This thing can’t be bought even with money; fifty thousand isn’t a loss!
Grinning widely, Meng Jingzhou accepted the storage ring containing 150,000 spirit stones. The money came so fast; it’s enough to pay fifteen fines.
If we hadn’t exposed our Dao-Seeking Sect identity, it could have paid thirty fines!
Lu Yang clicked his tongue in amazement. I’ve seen people borrowing “essence” to pray for children, but this is my first time seeing someone borrowing “blood” to pray for children.
Unfortunately, perhaps the Nascent Soul old monsters were on the cautious side. When they saw the pill owner agree to the trade so readily and the exorbitant price of the yang-boosting blood, they hesitated, and no one else decided to trade.
The two circled the side hall once more. Confirming they couldn’t find other customers, they had to give up.
“Let’s change locations. I know another black market.” Meng Jingzhou transmitted an auditory message. He was meticulous and had inquired about several black markets.
All the information had come from Dai Bufan. The latter’s intelligence wasn’t easily divulged. Thus, Meng Jingzhou had to pay a hefty price for this—he promised Dai Bufan he wouldn’t cause any trouble for the next six months.
The two retraced their steps and left the black market.
Just as Lu Yang was about to take out the Sword-Cleansing Pond for sword flight, an eerie voice came from behind.
“Fellow Daoists, are you leaving already?”
“Who’s there?!” Lu Yang whirled around.
Four Nascent Soul old monsters in black robes emerged from the dense forest, their eyes cold and expressions hostile.
“What are you trying to do?!”
“What we are trying to do?” The leader sneered sinisterly. “Fellow Daoist, you brought out such a precious treasure in the side hall—yang-boosting blood that surpasses Phoenix blood. It made our eyes burn with envy.
“Some things were inconvenient to say in the side hall with so many people around. Now that we have appeared here, you should understand our intentions, fellow Daoists.”
Meng Jingzhou slowly clenched his fists, growing wary. “We are born slow-witted and don’t understand your intentions.”
The leader was unrelenting. “Can you really not make it cheaper? Even Phoenix blood is only twenty or thirty thousand per drop!”
Meng Jingzhou snorted coldly, his attitude firm. “No. I’ve faced countless dangers to obtain this yang-boosting blood. Fifty thousand spirit stones per drop, not a single spirit stone less! If it were you, fellow Daoist, would you lower the price?”
“Is that so? What a pity then. I thought if you were more tactful, we could become friends. Since you’re so heartless...” The leader dragged out his words, seizing the opportunity to signal the other three with his eyes.
The other three individuals reached into their sleeves, and a cold glint flashed before they suddenly threw something at Lu Yang.
Lu Yang had anticipated this. With his large hand, he caught three storage rings.
The leader shook his head regretfully. “Never mind if there’s no discount then. Here is a total of five hundred thousand spirit stones. Please tally the numbers, fellow Daoist.”
Lu Yang scanned them with his spiritual consciousness and accepted the storage rings before giving Meng Jingzhou a meaningful look. “It’s indeed five hundred thousand spirit stones. Deliver the goods.”
Meng Jingzhou took ten bottles of blood from his identity jade tablet and tossed them to the other party.
The leader’s eyes shifted, noticing Meng Jingzhou’s subtle movements in the dark, even spotting his identity jade tablet. “Fellow Daoist, you’re a disciple of the Dao-Seeking Sect?”
“So what if I am?” Meng Jingzhou cursed inwardly, Oh no, I exposed my identity as a Dao-Seeking Sect disciple.
The leader stared fixedly at Meng Jingzhou and slowly said, “If you are Dao-Seeking Sect disciples, we cannot let you leave so easily. I am also a reputable figure. If word gets out, I’m afraid it would be hard for me to continue mingling in these circles.” A smile spread across his lips. With his back to the moonlight, his expression was cloaked in shadows; only his gleaming, cold teeth were visible.
“What are you trying to do?” Lu Yang sensed the four’s attitudes had changed drastically upon learning their identities.
“Please visit my estate and allow me to show my hospitality as a host!”
Now that we’re aware of their identities, if I don’t entertain them, how would my brothers in the trade view me?
Lu Yang eyed the four vigilantly and shook his head gently. “I think that won’t be necessary.”
Their attitude is strange—they definitely have ulterior motives!
The leader pressed forward step by step. “Fellow Daoist, it’s just taking a seat at my estate. Why be so wary?!”
Lu Yang snickered repeatedly, having already seen through their pretense. He warned them, “Fellow Daoist, Great Xia has ruled for a hundred thousand years. The righteous path is powerful, and the methods of the diabolic and heretical path is not to be pursued. Do you not know how many like you have been arrested by Great Xia and dragged into prison, regretting it for life?!
“As disciples of the Dao-Seeking Sect and part of the righteous path, we absolutely will not collude with the diabolic and heretical path. If you’re thinking of pulling strings and going by the back door to get your descendants into the Dao-Seeking Sect, that’s wishful thinking!”
The leader’s eyes were icy. He stealthily reached into his sleeve and touched his storage ring. With a pinch of his fingers, he fanned out several lost cultivation manuals like a folding fan. “Is there really no chance? To be frank, I have substantial family assets and countless secret treasures and ancient texts. Perhaps there is something that might catch your eye, fellow Daoists?”
“No chance!”
Seeing Lu Yang and Meng Jingzhou’s resolute stance, the leader looked up at the sky and heaved a long sigh.
“Never mind, never mind. Let’s go.”
