Why Not Make Both Twins 'Girlfriends'?-Chapter 10Volume 2 .1 - Reflecting the Truth...?
Reflecting the Truth…? 1
“Hmm… This is a really good article! It captures the subject’s inner thoughts well and clearly conveys the intended message!”
It is the Friday after the tests, July 15th.
The club activities resumed, and Hikari submitted the article she had written at home. Uehara Ayaka, the usually calm and composed president of the Newspaper Club couldn’t hide her excitement as she said her impression.
Kousaka Matori, The vice president, also looked over the article happily.
“It’s clear who the intended audience is. It’s got a really good vibe.”
Then, their classmate Higashino Wakana said with a hint of frustration,
“I’ve been beaten…”
“Wakana, you should reduce your spelling and typographical errors a bit more before worrying about that.”
Matori teased, to which Wakana puffed up her cheeks in response.
“Matori-senpai, you should write articles too instead of just taking pictures…”
“I specialize in this area.”
Matori said with a proud chuckle while holding her camera.
Hikari’s interview article received quite a positive reaction from the club members. However, Hikari herself maintained a modest smile while watching the others from a slight distance.
Wakana looked at Hikari with a frustrated expression.
“Hikari, how did you come up with questions like the ones in this article?”
“I just read back issues to see what kind of interviews had been done before. I also thought of some potential questions beforehand and did some research on the work of lawyers.”
When Hikari explained that she hadn’t come up with the questions on the spot but had prepared thoroughly, Wakana seemed utterly deflated.
“That’s like, the very basics of being an interviewer… You’re really doing it properly…”
“Wakana, this is where you need to improve. You won’t be popular if you can’t become a good listener”
“Matori-senpai, that’s why I’m telling you to write articles! And I don’t care about being popular or not!”
While Matori and Wakana had their exchange, Ayaka quietly asked Hikari,
“Did you visit Kisezaki-san’s home for this?”
“Yes.”
Hikari replied, causing Sakuto to tense up.
“She was so kind and beautiful. I was able to write this article because of her, so you should thank Mitsumi-san rather than me.”
Hikari said while Sakuto listened nervously beside her.
“Eh? Does that mean you went to Takayashiki’s house?”
Matori asked casually, but Sakuto was on edge. He had expected this, but Hikari had honestly answered, ‘Yes.’
“Hmm… And now you’re calling Sakuto by his first name, isn’t that a bit suspicious?”
Matori threw a straight jab with her words, but Hikari still maintained her smile.
Though internally shaken, Sakuto reassured himself that Hikari wouldn’t carelessly say anything thoughtless.
“It wasn’t just me. My sister Chikage was with me, so we visited together.”
“Wow, the three of you really are close, huh?”
“Yes. I’d like to visit again if possible. Maybe to just have a casual chat next time.”
Sakuto breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Matori not probing any deeper.
Despite everything, Hikari seems to have convinced everyone that she and Chikage are just good friends with him by using the excuse that they ‘visited together’.
Then Wakana spoke up.
“Of course, that’s natural. After all, they’re the top three students in the grade, so they must get along well.”
“And what about you, one of the top three idiots in the grade? Are you close with the other two?”
“Please don’t assume me as one of the ‘three idiots’… And isn’t that kind of harsh!? I mean, I still score above average!”
Wakana got angry, but Matori laughed it off.
Sakuto ignored them and turned to Ayaka.
“Ayaka-senpai, is it alright if I go around with Hikari today?”

“Of course. I’ll be going to see the assistant advisor, Nakamura-sensei, so please go ahead.”

“Nishishishi~ Am I right in thinking that you wanted to be alone with me?”
Hikari smirked as she walked beside Sakuto, trying to gauge his reaction.
“To be frank, yes.”
“…Hmm, I see. Not quite the answer I was expecting.”
Seeing Sakuto’s calm response, Hikari spoke with a slightly sulky tone.
“I simply wanted to see how you conduct interviews, Hikari.”
“Why’s that?”
“Well, I just wanted to see how you interact with others sometimes.”
“There it is, special…”
“What? Special? In what way?”
Hikari bumped her shoulder against his.
“You know, normally, you’d observe without letting the other person catch on. Otherwise, they might start wondering about your intentions.”
“Hikari, you can see through people’s lies and true intentions, right? I thought it’d be more sincere to tell you honestly.”
“I like that about you, Sakuto, but… you know, I’d like to hear some heart-fluttering lines like ‘I can’t stand seeing you talk to other guys’ or ‘I wanted to see you up close’, even if they’re lies.”
“What’s with that wild setting…? Do you really want me to be like that?”
Hikari chuckled but also furrowed her brows slightly.
“So, what do you want to know about me? My three sizes, starting from the top──”
“Ah, I’m not asking that, not asking…”
“Then, do you want to know Chii-chan’s three sizes?”
“Before that, have you heard of the Personal Information Protection Law? You can’t just go around revealing people’s three sizes without their permission. Probably. I’m not really sure though…”
He was completely exasperated, but he couldn’t let the conversation continue to derail. He decided to ask honestly.
“Do you change your attitude when you’re with me and Chikage compared to other people?”
“Of course. Is that wrong?”
“No, it’s not wrong, but I was just wondering why.”
Suddenly, Hikari narrowed her eyes.
“Maybe it’s because both Chii-chan and Sakuto try to understand me.”
“That could be the same for others, right? I think there are people other than us who want to understand you, Hikari.”
“Hmm… I’ve been thinking that it’s not easy to meet such a person.”
“Why is that?”
“Sakuto, wouldn’t you understand?”
‘Looking back on my past, that’s how it was.’
‘I was always alone, standing out from the crowd, but I didn’t mind.’
‘My mother, Mitsumi, and Yuzuki were there for me as people who understood me.’
