The first place that Lin Fan was visiting was actually not that far from the capital of the Laver Empire.

In fact, this was actually one of the largest cities in the Laver Empire.

So for the first time, it wasn’t as if Haku was sending Lin Fan to the middle of nowhere.

The only thing was that there were a bit too many people that were here that made Lin Fan feel a bit awkward.

During his time in the Laver Empire, it wasn’t as if he ever had to travel through large and crowded cities like this. Most of the time, he went through other passages that had been prepared that allowed him to avoid most of this.

But this time, Lin Fan couldn’t do that.

This time, Lin Fan had to show himself before this was something that was needed to accomplish this task that he had been assigned.

He was even using the S Rank Adventurer identity that he had been given.

"Sir, is there anything that we can do for you?"

As expected of a receptionist of a branch in a city of this level.

Unlike the other times where the receptionist would freak out and reveal his identity, this one was completely professional when he showed them his Adventurer’s License. They didn’t panic at all even after finding out that he was a S Rank Adventurer.

With the way that the receptionist looked at him with a smile on her face, it was clear that she had interacted with S Rank Adventurers in the past.

So dealing with him really wasn’t a problem for her.

She was even being so casual that it was a bit awkward for Lin Fan since this was a new experience. Though it wasn’t as if this was an experience that he was against since it made things easier for him.

"I want information on Lion Hill."

The receptionist’s expression changed the moment that he mentioned "Lion Hill".

The look on her face made it obvious that she knew what he was talking about and she was very wary of this topic. But since Lin Fan was a S Rank Adventurer, it wasn’t as if this was something that she could ignore.

It took a while, but the receptionist eventually said, "Please wait a moment as I consult with the guild master."

Lin Fan didn’t mind this since he had already expected this to be the case.

It didn’t take long for someone to come over with the receptionist, but this time Lin Fan was caught off guard.

This was a man that was well over eight feet and was covered in muscles, so it was more fit to call him a mountain of muscles than anything else. But the way that the receptionist followed behind this man showed that he was the one that was in charge.

This showed that he was the guild master that she had gone to find.

Once the guild master came over, he didn’t confront Lin Fan as Lin Fan had expected. Instead, he just said in a soft voice, "Please follow me so we can discuss this matter in a private place."

Lin Fan was certainly caught off guard hearing this soft voice from this large man, it certainly wasn’t a voice that fit a man of this stature. But he could also hear the sincerity and seriousness of his voice.

This was a person that didn’t play around at all.

So that was why Lin Fan gave a simple nod and followed behind the guild master without a word.

When they finally came to a private room, the first thing that the guild master did was...

"Do you want some tea?"

Once again, Lin Fan was caught off guard.

It wasn’t the fact that the guild master was offering him tea that caught him off guard, but rather the tea set that the guild master took out that completely surprised him.

"Flower print..." That was all that Lin Fan could think about when he saw this tea set.

It really didn’t seem like the kind of tea set that a mass of muscles like the guild master would use, but he was very adept at using it. With how skilled he was at brewing the tea with this tea set, he had clearly used this many times before.

At the same time, Lin Fan could see the enjoyment in all of his actions as he did this.

This wasn’t something that he was doing because he was forced to, this was something that he actually enjoyed doing. This was the kind of thing that the guild master found fun...

It really wasn’t the kind of hobby that Lin Fan expected.

It wasn’t just tea that was placed in front of him in the end, there were also cookies on a cute plate that was placed there.

Only after all of this was prepared did the guild master finally sit down and say, "So what do you want to know about Lion Hill?"

The speed at which his expression changed showed just what kind of person he was. Even if he was someone that enjoyed his hobbies, he was also a guild master that represented this large branch of the Adventurer’s Guild.

He certainly had the capabilities of managing a branch of this level.

He wasn’t someone that was easy to push around.

Not only that, Lin Fan could feel the aura that this guild master was releasing which was anything but normal. It was clear that he wasn’t someone that would just sit around and do paperwork all day.

Though in his case, his muscles were already more than enough to prove that.

Lin Fan didn’t panic and rush to answer this question when the guild master said this.

Instead, he calmly took a bite of the cookies and a sip of the tea before saying, "This is quite nice. I’ve had many kinds of tea and cookies before, but yours has a sweetness that I haven’t seen before."

This time, it was the guild master’s turn to be surprised.

However, the guild master didn’t react when Lin Fan said this since he knew that this was nothing more than a ploy to throw him off his game. There was no reason for him to actually respond to this since he wouldn’t gain anything from it.

So instead, he just waited for Lin Fan to give a meaningful answer to the question that he just asked.

Lin Fan wasn’t surprised to see that the guild master ignored him.

After taking another sip of the tea, he suddenly changed his tone to say, "There’s no need to beat around the bush like this. I know that you’ll have some kind of condition for me before you give me the information that I want. Just tell me directly what you want from me."

The guild master was once again surprised by how forward Lin Fan was being, but then a smile appeared on his face as he said, "Alright, then I won’t hold back at all."

As soon as the guild master’s words fell, he suddenly stood up and started rolling back his sleeves.

Lin Fan raised a brow seeing this, but he wasn’t actually confused.

When someone did something like this, it was hard to misunderstand their intentions.

It was just that Lin Fan couldn’t understand why the guild master would suddenly do something like this. Even if he had already guessed that this was the case, he didn’t think that the guild master would start something here.

As if he could guess what Lin Fan was thinking, the guild master went over to the wall and directly punched it.

The sound and the wind pressure that was released showed how powerful the punch was. The fact that this wall didn’t crack at all showed just what kind of room this was.

Even though this was a private room that was set aside for private discussions, it was also a room that had been prepared for people to fight in. That was why these walls were reinforced in such a manner that even a punch like this couldn’t break through.

A wry smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he saw this, but he didn’t turn down the challenge that the guild master was giving him.

Instead, he just said, "How far do you want to take this?"

The guild master seemed to think about this question for a bit, but eventually he said, "Let’s see how far we need to take this. After all, I have no idea just how strong you are."

Then in a colder voice, he said, "But I suggest that you don’t look down on me either."

When the guild master was prepared to fight, there really was a different feel to him.

It was a feeling that made him seem like a completely different person.
