Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 573 - 27: Three Elders
"Hiss..."
Josie shivered, her breath turning into white vapor rising in front of her as she trembled, saying:
"It’s so cold here!"
She was a Second Tier Holy Knight, yet she couldn’t withstand the severe cold here. The First Tier Hume fared even worse.
Ever since approaching the territory of the Three Elders, he felt chilled to the bone, and now his body was nearly frozen.
In contrast, the Desecration Abnormal Beast showed little reaction to it.
"Ice and Snow Goddess?"
Carl pondered, lightly shaking his head:
"It’s not entirely the same!"
With a flick of his finger, two flames landed on them, merging into their clothes like living creatures, shielding them from the external chill.
Below was a world of dead silence, blanketed in snow and ice, the extreme cold permeating between heaven and earth.
It seemed like the handiwork of an ice and snow deity, but the dead silence differed from a Divine.
A Divine needs the faith of living beings, harvesting it over time. Therefore, even in the Divine Domain of the Ice and Snow Goddess, there would be life. The cold below, excluding all creatures, could only be the method of an Evil God.
"Conni!"
The cold wind below swirled, lifting two figures into midair.
One was clad in luxurious attire, with exquisite, handsome features like the legendary Beauty God of Heaven.
The other stood hunched behind like a servant.
"Hmm..." Carl squinted:
"Duke Joe?"
"It’s me!" The visitor was not the master of this base, the Three Elders, but instead one of this realm’s demigods, the Duke.
Joe!
The son of the Beauty God!
Carl had encountered many people, from Divine Domain Angels to Otherworldly Creatures, yet none matched the allure of the one before him.
Even knowing he was male, his heart unconsciously skipped a beat before that stunning visage.
Josie and Hume looked even more infatuated, their eyes locked on him, unwilling to look away.
Even the expression of the Desecration Abnormal Beast softened.
Though never having met before, such a unique charm must belong to a demigod with a wondrous bloodline.
Seduction?
Carl’s heart stirred.
Duke Joe’s seductive talents seemed beyond Third Tier ’Class Magic,’ perhaps even Divine Arts, ignoring all resistance.
Fortunately, the other seemed non-hostile. Otherwise, engaging in combat would instantly halve their strength.
"It’s me."
Joe gestured downwards:
"You see, this has become an Evil God’s domain, and the source of the mutation is your Holy Hall’s Third Elder."
"Hmm..."
"He’s become a monster!"
"Duke." Carl dismounted the carriage, meeting his gaze without inquiring about the changes here, instead asking:
"What brings you here?"
"I was on good terms with your Third Elder." Joe wasn’t bothered by Carl’s questioning, speaking slowly:
"Previously, the Moon Goddess’s prohibitions kept me from leaving my domain, making him visit me."
"Now I can come out, but I haven’t heard from him, so I came to see."
Joe sighed:
"Yev became too obsessed with gaining strength, falling for an Evil God’s temptation, turning into a puppet."
Yev is the Third Elder.
"By the way."
He touched his chin, contemplating:
"Recently, some did something to Yev secretly, making him very irritable. I suspect it’s against you."
"Conni, it seems someone lured you here but doesn’t want you to leave."
"Is that so?" Carl wasn’t particularly surprised; within the Holy Hall, many wanted to harm him, so he asked:
"Why did the Duke stop me? What’s your aim?"
"I hope you can help liberate Yev." Joe sighed deeply, his expression complex, eyes filled with reluctance:
"This is all I can do for him as a friend."
Friend?
Carl felt odd.
Perhaps it was Joe’s demeanor, or a miscommunication—it felt more like a lover.
Shaking his head, he said:
"As a demigod, Duke, can’t you relieve the Third Elder? If you can’t, I fear I can’t either."
"Though I’m a demigod, fighting isn’t my forte, as you can see." Joe shrugged:
"And as Yev’s friend, I can’t bring myself to harm him, so I ask for your help instead."
"Of course!"
"As thanks, afterward, I’ll tell you where Yev’s treasure is. Believe me, without my methods, you won’t obtain his legacy."
"Legacy..." Carl mused:
"Including the wings of the Pale Wings?"
"Yes." Joe nodded, wearing a peculiar smile:
"As well as secrets between Divinities."
*
*
*
The area of hundreds of miles was entirely frozen; such power exceeded mortal understanding, even at the Third Tier.
However, for a Divine, it was effortless.
A Third Tier Taboo Knight, Fourth Tier Lower God—though only a step apart, it was worlds away.
The breakthrough from mortal to god.
Not knowing the Knight Path, Wizards face the same.
There was no shortage of Third Ring Wizards among major forces, yet Fourth Ring Wizards, claiming infinite life, were scarce.
It demonstrated the difficulty of breaking through.
"Just down below."
Joe stood in the void, motioning to Carl:
"Be careful."
"Hmm."
Carl nodded, transforming into a fire line, streaking downward.
The solid ice crystal was pierced effortlessly by the fire line, like a hot knife through butter, silently merging into it.
He didn’t know how much time passed.
"Swish!"
Carl appeared in a palace of ice and jade.
In the grand hall, there were servants and knights—all turned to ice sculpture, with a figure meditating in the center.
"Third Elder?"
Carl looked surprised:
"It really is!"
He remained skeptical of Duke Joe’s words, but seeing this scene, he was 80% convinced.
The Third Elder had long been a puppet or a tool of a certain existence’s infiltrating power.
His flesh constantly converted cold air, expanding outward, endlessly freezing and encasing the world.
The vitality and world origin plundered by the cold were transferred through his body to that existence.
"But..."
"How did you manage it?"
So many Divine followers entered, including Divine Sons and Demigods, yet they only spread faith, preparing for the future, unable to channel a Divine’s power, let alone devour world origin.
Carl paced around, seemingly casual, but each step landed at the heart of the cold’s circulation.
"Formation?"
"Such a grand formation must have been set hundreds of years ago; no wonder..."
Carl pondered:
"Hundreds or even thousands of years ago, Divinities came here and set formations."
"Yet due to the Moon Goddess, the Outer Realm Evil God’s power couldn’t penetrate, leaving it aside."
"Not until the Third Elder discovered this place did he fall for an Evil God’s lure, becoming its puppet."
"Crack..."
Before he finished speaking, the Third Elder’s body swayed, ice crystal cracks appearing around, and his eyes slowly opened.
"Intruder."
The Third Elder locked eyes with Carl, his gaze icy:
"Die!"
"Whoosh..."
Endless cold roared in.
Third Ring Witchcraft—Annihilation Flame!
The freezing cold clashing with the all-consuming flame in mid-air, immediately raising billowing smoke.
"Hmm!"
Carl grunted, involuntarily stepping back, veins bulging on his forehead.
So strong!
Relying purely on witchcraft, he was far from a match.
Luckily, from the collision, it was clear the Third Elder’s power remained within the Third Tier range.
If that’s the case...
"Boom!"
Heart Buddha Hand—Karma Fire Seal!
