Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 611 - 28: The Deal
Basalom, who had lost both his arms and legs, collapsed in a pool of blood, uttering weak cries of misery.
Not far from him, the three-meter tall Hundred-faced Demon, radiating an aura of fear, crouched obediently on the ground.
Lynn stood beside the Hundred-faced Demon, retracting his probing witchcraft.
"The refinement of the Hundred-faced Demon requires stirring deep-seated fear and madness in human hearts, thus rendering it irrational."
The white-clad, white-haired Maki approached slowly, speaking gently:
"The strong power comes from the negative emotions of hundreds, invoked by witchcraft, and fused with the bloodline of ancient giants."
"In such a state of chaotic consciousness condensed into a whole, trying to restore your friend’s sanity is like refining the impurities once present in well-tempered metal, which is very difficult."
"I must try." Lynn pointed to Basalom on the ground and said:
"If what he says is true, there’s still a chance."
"Yes!"
"Absolutely!"
Basalom shouted urgently:
"My tutor is an expert in this field. It was he who arranged for the Hundred-faced Demon to follow my commands."
With his strength, he couldn’t control a First Tier Hundred-faced Demon, even if he could, there would be a high chance of backlash.
So there was no lie in his words. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
He knew well that lying in front of a Wizard was akin to seeking death.
"Heh..." Maki chuckled and looked at Lynn:
"You truly care for your friend, or is there... some other connection between you and this girl named Susan?"
"We’ve studied together for many years, of course there’s a bond." Lynn looked at Susan’s face on the Hundred-faced Demon and spoke softly:
"Moreover, I owe her money."
"Owe her money?" Maki’s beautiful eyes flickered:
"How much?"
"A Magic Stone."
?
Maki rolled her eyes, somewhat speechless.
"Sorry," Lynn said:
"I have to trouble you this time."
He needed to exchange the method of refining the Hundred-faced Demon from Skin Wizard Carpenter to help Susan regain her consciousness.
Lynn had just advanced to Wizard and was unfamiliar with the Wizards of the three major forces, forcing him to seek help for mediation.
"No problem." Maki waved her hand:
"Actually, I think this is good. Very few Wizards are willing to go to such lengths for their friends."
"No!"
"I feel that, as Wizards live longer, they have no true friends, only shared interests."
"This feeling is good."
She carried her hands behind her back, lightly sighing:
"You are so mindful of your friends from wizard apprentice days, I am willing to be your friend too, so you need not worry about betrayal in the future."
Friend?
Lynn chuckled.
This time, he sought help from several Wizards, and only Maki agreed to assist, winning his friendship.
"Here it comes!"
Unbeknownst to when, a faint mist spread, and indistinct footsteps slowly approached.
"Lynn?"
Skin Wizard Carpenter emerged from the mist, his facial features resembling those of a corpse, with cold, sharp eyes.
He looked at Lynn, a cold smile on his face:
"Talent that dies young is never true talent, a sixteen-year-old Wizard only represents potential for the future."
"Carpenter," before Lynn could respond, Maki stepped forward and scolded:
"Your disciple set a trap to kill Wizard apprentices of other forces, claiming it was at your instruction."
"What do you have to say?"
"Hmph!" Skin Wizard Carpenter finally turned his gaze to his own disciple, coldly snorting:
"Useless trash!"
"Carpenter," Lynn spoke slowly:
"If this matter reaches the Second Ring Wizards, even you will face severe punishment, so..."
"Why don’t we make a deal."
"A deal?" Skin Wizard Carpenter’s eyes flickered:
"What kind of deal?"
"My friend was turned into a Hundred-faced Demon by you. Help her regain her sanity and we’ll let this matter pass," Lynn shook his sleeves, throwing the limbless Basalom in front of him:
"To show sincerity, I offer him to you first."
"Hmm." Skin Wizard Carpenter bowed his head, looking at his disciple.
"Tutor,"
Basalom’s voice trembled:
"I... I’ve done my best."
"You should know well, I only care about results, not the process." Skin Wizard Carpenter spoke coldly:
"So..."
"Die then!"
"Swish!"
A black shadow emerged from his eye socket, diving into Basalom’s body, swiftly drawing out copious blood.
In the blink of an eye.
Only a human skin remained on the ground.
"Silencing witnesses?" Seeing this, Maki shook her head:
"You don’t think this will end by killing, do you?"
"I recorded the whole process of your killing and have evidence left by your disciple."
"Is that so?" Skin Wizard Carpenter remained expressionless:
"Evidence is only useful if submitted."
"What?" Maki was taken aback.
"Watch out!"
Lynn suddenly warned, waving his Magic Wand, conjuring layers of Flame Shield around them.
"Poof!"
"Poof, poof!"
A phantom appeared from nowhere, and the Flame Shield shattered like paper pierced by it.
Fortunately, this gave them a breathing moment, enough for Maki to recover. Her eyes brightened as she gazed at the phantom.
Petrification Skill!
The phantom instantly froze, petrified, turning into a thin stone sheet that fell to the ground.
Human skin!
"Carpenter,"
Maki’s face was grim, filled with disbelief:
"You’ve gone mad!"
She was one of the most promising Wizards in Viper Academy to become a Second Ring, and also a disciple of a Second Ring.
Although Lynn had just advanced, he also had great potential.
Before coming, they considered that the other party might be tough, but never expected the Skin Wizard Carpenter to resort to murder.
How dare he?
How could he?
"Hoo!"
Suddenly,
A fiery flame attacked from behind.

Academy Base.
Gloria, the Shadow Wizard hovering above the Wizard Tower, suddenly opened her eyes, looking toward the distance in confusion.
"Demon?"
"So many demons!"
Though the demons were many, she didn’t take them seriously.
Being inside the Wizard Tower, even if a Third Tier Demon appeared, she wouldn’t fear it in the short term. Instead, she could take the opportunity to slaughter the demons and collect a large number of demon corpses.
But something was amiss.
With so many demons agitated, there’s a high likelihood that the Abyss Cottage Wizards had done something in secret.
"What are they up to?"
Gloria slowly straightened her body:
"Facing the siege of three forces, the Abyss Cottage Wizards dare to retaliate, have they been misled by the Abyss?"
"Demons are attacking, everyone prepare!"
Her voice wasn’t loud, but it spread throughout the entire base, and the magical traps on the base’s perimeter flickered with Spirit Light.
Somewhere in a house.
Charles, with his hands behind his back, approached the window, his eyes glowing faintly, reflecting the horde of demons swarming in the distance.
"The opportunity has come."
He gestured to Claude behind him:
"Go!"
"Capture that Wizard Apprentice named Isaiah, and use her to lure Lynn to the depths of the Abyss Rift."
"Hasn’t Cesar always wanted to meet Lynn? He’ll see him soon."
At the moment, he was clearly unaware that the two people he spoke of had already met in advance.
