Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 626 - 43: Entry
The Star Realm is vast, much like the cosmic starry sky.
Darkness occupies the majority of spaces, with faint glimmers coming from the projections of different worlds in the Star Realm.
It is said that high-tier wizards can lock onto the positions of other worlds with the starlight of the Star Realm, enabling them to perform spatial leaps and even enter other worlds.
However, such methods are clearly unrelated to this group of people.
From a distance, the Titan Core doesn’t look very large, occupying only a few acres.
The Flying Boat, measuring several meters long, theoretically could approach the Titan Core quickly, but in reality, this is not the case.
The extreme speed creates vortexes at the edge of the Flying Boat, but the forward distance achieved is not ideal.
"How can this be?"
Charlotte looked back, eyes filled with confusion:
"It feels like we’re treading in place."
They had flown at supersonic speed for nearly an hour, yet when they glanced back, they hadn’t moved far from the starting point.
"This is because space here is compressed," Jack the Gear explained:
"From the outside, the Titan Core doesn’t look big, but in reality, it’s much larger than any kingdom in your imagination."
"Due to gravity and witchcraft, the closer you get to it, the more space is distorted. What appears to be one meter to the naked eye might in fact be hundreds of kilometers. Furthermore, there are three barriers surrounding the Titan Core, each with its own constraining power."
He pointed forward, where everyone focused their gaze and could faintly see three light circles surrounding the Titan Core.
The circles were layered upon each other, each with some black spots visible.
"Over the centuries, with the unrelenting efforts of Academy Wizards, we’ve broken through the second barrier. If we can break through the third one, we might fully control this Sixth Tier Artifact."
As Jack the Gear mentioned this, his eyes slightly brightened:
"A Sixth Tier Artifact..."
"Except for the Four Major Forces and nine major families, very few forces on the Calim Continent possess such an artifact."
Charlotte’s breath quickened, and she immediately clenched her fists.
Lynn and Beastman Nicole, however, showed little reaction; probably because, to them, Academy honor was not that important.
"Senior,"
Nicole pondered before asking:
"Do the three barriers represent different time flows?"
"More or less,"
Jack the Gear nodded:
"The first barrier accelerates time flow by dozens to hundreds of times; the second ranges from hundreds to thousands of times, and theoretically, the third ranges from thousands to tens of thousands of times, making one day pass like a hundred years."
"But the barriers do more than just affect time; they significantly impact wizards as well."
He glanced at the three of them and said:
"First Ring Wizards can only remain in the first barrier and must be at least in the First Ring Late Stage. Otherwise, the lack of spiritual power can cause spatial disorientation and hallucinations, which led to many wizards perishing here."
Charlotte nodded silently.
No wonder he, as the headmaster’s disciple, wasn’t allowed here without sufficient cultivation.
On previous entries to the Star Realm, it was only to linger on the outskirts.
"We’ve arrived!"
The conversation was interrupted as the Flying Boat finally approached the first barrier, landing on a wide platform.
Only then could they clearly see what was called a ’barrier.’
It resembled a road bridge.
A circular road paved with green stone circled the Titan Core, with rooms spaced intermittently along the path.
The road was uneven, with gaps in places, and most houses were already collapsed.
"We estimate that the Titan Core was a war fortress of a wizard, severely damaged and drifting in the Star Realm until it was accidentally discovered by Akasha Wizard."
Jack the Gear gestured for them to follow and said:
"The ruins of these houses, including some offensive witchcraft patterns, serve as evidence."
"If true, then the owner of this war fortress must have been a Sixth Ring Wizard. The enemy who caused their downfall and the fortress damage must have been terrifyingly powerful."
"Senior," Charlotte nodded silently as she asked:
"We seem to have not fully mastered the first barrier?"
"Of course!"
Jack the Gear shrugged, pointing to a gap ahead:
"Don’t be deceived by the gap’s few meters wide appearance; attempting to cross it might drag you into a time-space vortex."
"There are hundreds of thousands of such gaps within the first barrier; some stretch for kilometers. Smaller gaps can be barely crossed using the Flying Boat, but we have no solution for the larger ones, so the portion truly controlled by the Academy is minimal."
It’s like a broken road.
Too many fractures.
The Academy only controls a tiny segment of the broken road, with most of it remaining unexplored.
Probably because they lack the capability to explore further.
"The same applies to the second barrier."
"The Academy only controls a segment. If any of you find a way to other sections, the Academy will pay a high price to acquire it."
Jack the Gear stopped:
"Charlotte, Nicole, stay here."
"Lynn, come with me."
Charlotte and Nicole were stunned, glancing at Lynn with some surprise before nodding and stopping as instructed.
"Swish!"
Jack the Gear once again released the white Flying Boat, motioning for Lynn to board.
"Senior,"
Lynn leaped onto the Flying Boat:
"Where are we going?"
"To where you need to be," Jack the Gear said with a smile, pointing to a distant gap:
"That way!"
Lynn fell silent.
The section controlled by the Academy was a coherent whole, with interconnected roads, while the place he was headed for was far away, much like an island marooned in the ocean, facing the mainland across vast waters.
Well...
It made sense!
The Academy undoubtedly knew of his ties with the Loo Family and had to concede, given the overpowering influence of the nine major families, allowing Lynn entry. Yet, they must have exercised some caution.
A solitary island could also stimulate time enough to provide breakthrough opportunities, yet it would restrict Lynn’s movement.
After disembarking from the Flying Boat, Jack the Gear left him with a significant look before turning away.
This broken gap spanned three hundred meters, with a stone house at its center.
Pushing open the Stone Gate,
a sensation similar to what he felt aboard the Flying Boat surged, indicating that time within was likewise distorted.
A gear was positioned by the wall, with several markers:
Fifty, one hundred, one hundred and fifty...
It was quite clear.
The markers indicated the ratio of time compression, with the current gear fixed at one, corresponding to the normal flow of time outside.
Lynn ventured forward cautiously, letting out a soft sigh and taking out an object from his person and tossing it into the air.
"Swish!"
The item hovered mid-air, casting a dazzling light downward, and with the twist of space, several figures emerged in succession.
There was Julia from the Loo Family, along with Theodore, with whom she had disputes, and three Grey Robed Wizards.
Surveying the surroundings, Julia nodded in satisfaction:
"Well done."
"The Titan Core." One Grey Robed Wizard spoke softly:
"They’ve placed us where we can’t contact the outside, which is convenient for our operation."
The people exited the room, one carrying a Magic Wand and gently waving it in the air, covering the gap with an invisible force field.
From outside, the gap appeared as usual, without a trace of the activity within.
"Titan’s Heart."
Julia approached the edge of the gap, gazing at the Sixth Tier Artifact emitting endless light and heat, with her eyes glowing:
"Mastering it means almost effortlessly slaying anyone below the Fifth Ring!"
"Lynn."
She turned her head with a smile:
"You’ve done me a huge favor. According to our agreement, I’ll give you the complete inheritance of the Great Flame Witch Vein."
"However, I now have a better proposition."
"I can offer you an opportunity to join the Loo Family!"
Hmm?
Everyone present was visibly surprised, turning to look, even Theodore couldn’t help but show surprise.
"Join the Loo Family?" Lynn froze:
"Is that possible?"
"Absolutely," Julia smiled lightly:
"The Loo Family has endured for many years, though not all of our kin have achieved success in cultivation. I have a few sisters who lack potential, so if you marry one, you can join the Loo Family."
It’s one of the nine major families of ancient lineage!
Lynn’s past encounters in the Magic Forest had already proven how terrifyingly powerful such family influence could be.
Even a Third Ring Wizard could only flee to worlds under the Gods’ protection against the power of the Green family without any means to retaliate.
In comparison,
the inheritance of the Great Flame Witch Vein, limited to the Third Tier, was insignificant.
"This..."
Lynn hesitated for a moment:
"Could I first receive the complete Great Flame Witch Vein?"
Julia’s eyes turned cold.
