Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 652 - 10: Holy Knight
Trish had always known that Barro liked her, but when they first met, she already had a boyfriend.
Her boyfriend at that time was the school’s basketball star, tall, strong, and full of sunshine.
Barro, who was thin and weak-looking, coming from a small place, was far from being comparable to him.
Even after she broke up with him, Trish never considered Barro.
Now...
Whether it was his income or his attentive care during this period, they had moved Trish’s heart.
Maybe,
the two should make their intentions clear.
She went downstairs.
Pulling Barro into a deserted corner, Trish took a deep breath, intending to confirm their relationship.
She had been in love a few times, and was no longer the naive girl she once was; she was quite experienced in confessing her feelings, and naturally, she felt no nervousness.
"Barro."
"Hmm."
Barro looked tense.
He wasn’t stupid, he could certainly guess what she was going to say; his breath hitched, and his body instinctively tensed up.
"Thank you for everything during this period." Trish spoke softly:
"You know about my family’s situation. Since my father passed away, you’ve been the only one by my side..."
"Wait!"
"Huh?"
Trish lifted her head in surprise:
"What’s wrong?"
"There’s... something coming." Barro’s eyes narrowed, his skin prickled, and he reached to pull Trish behind him, looking into the shadows of the corner:
"Who’s there?"
"Eh?"
In the darkness, the shadows squirmed like a thick liquid, a black man with strange patterns on his face emerged from it.
"You could actually sense my presence?"
The black man looked puzzled:
"Wasn’t the target supposed to be an ordinary person this time?"
"Who are you?"
Barro shouted, while glancing at the nearby hotel security, his expression suddenly changed.
Even though they were close by, and he intentionally shouted loudly, not one of the security personnel turned around to look in their direction.
Sometime,
a thin layer of black mist enveloped the surroundings, everything within became blurry, distorting outside perception.
"It’s useless."
The black man shook his head slightly:
"My ability can isolate sound, sight, and even smell, that’s the origin of the absolute night."
"Barro?"
"Just come with me obediently!"
With that, he stepped heavily, rushing towards the two.
The black man’s physique was not robust, but his speed was astonishing; among the people Trish had seen, none ran faster.
Could this be a racial advantage?
Before she could scream, she saw a flash before her eyes, and Barro had already kicked the black man’s chest.
"Bang!"
The black man flew backward like he was hit by a rapidly speeding truck, his feet skimming the ground as he went.
He flew a good dozen meters before landing heavily.
"Barro!"
Trish’s eyes widened, astonished as she looked at the scene before her:
"How... how could you do that?"
Regardless of the black man’s seventy or eighty kilograms weight, a single kick sent him flying a dozen meters, how strong must that be?
Not even all her previous boyfriends combined could compare.
And the surprise wasn’t over.
"Cough cough!"
The black man coughed twice, slowly propping his body up from the ground, lightly dusting himself off, seemingly uninjured, only gently saying:
"Not bad, looks like I’ll need to ask for more money."
Murmuring quietly, his figure suddenly disappeared, as if merging into the darkness.
Reappearing, he was already behind Barro.
"Watch out!"
Trish instinctively screamed.
"Swish!"
"Pow!"
Barro abruptly turned, raising his hand to block the incoming strike, then bent his arm and jabbed an elbow forward.
Again the black man dodged, reappearing beside Barro, launching another attack.
Barro turned his head to dodge.
Their figures flashed rapidly, instantly forming a multitude of afterimages; the sound of their clashes continuously echoed.
"Bang!"
The hard marble floor couldn’t withstand the force and broke open, the splintered stones scattering around.
Another burst of noise.
"Ah!"
Never having seen such a scene before, Trish couldn’t help but scream, fear and excitement rushing to her mind.
Such terrifying people!
Barro,
was actually so strong?
The black man was clearly skilled in fighting techniques, and with the ability to rapidly move by merging into the night, he held the advantage.
However, it wasn’t easy for him to bring down Barro.
Moreover, as time passed, Barro’s speed of eruption increased, his strength also grew.
"Bang!"
Another clash.
The black man staggered back a few steps, stopped, and looked at Barro with a face full of surprise:
"You’re... still in the Potential Explosion Period?"
"What do you mean?" Barro looked puzzled:
"Who exactly are you? Why are you attacking us?"
"Heh..." The black man seemed speechless:
"How could such a thing happen?"
Those in the Potential Explosion Period often have just entered the Transcendent Domain, but to be this strong right after entering, what kind of terrifying potential should they possess?
How could such a person have no guidance?
"Swish!"
His figure flickered, and the black man struck again, but this time his target was not Barro, but Trish in the corner.
"Stop!"
Seeing this, Barro shouted urgently, quickly closing in.
"Bang!"
"Hiss..."
The figures intertwined. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
A strange white light suddenly blossomed on Trish’s shoulder, the light swirled in the air and hit Barro right between the eyebrows.
Barro’s body stiffened, instantly ceasing to move.
"Hee hee..." An illusory rat appeared on Trish’s shoulder, squealing:
"Sid, lucky I came, right?"
"That’s right."
Sid, the black man, twisted his sore wrist and nodded reluctantly:
"You’re right."
"Let’s leave." The rat spoke:
"He’s under my Soul Capturing Technique, won’t break free for at least an hour, quickly leave here."
"I know." Sid stepped forward, grabbed Barro’s shoulder, but as he was about to lift him, his face changed drastically, darkness engulfed his body.
"Sizzle!"
A streak of black light flashed by, drawing some blood.
"Ugh!"
Sid let out a muffled grunt, his body rolling on the ground as momentum carried him.
"It’s the Demon-breaking Bullet!"
"Careful!"
Several shadows appeared nearby unnoticed, holding firearms, pulling the triggers at the darkness.
"Sizzle!"
"Sizzle sizzle!"
The silencer couldn’t completely suppress the gunshot, the demon-breaking bullets left white trails in the void, while Sid’s figure kept dodging in the darkness.
"Barro!"
Nightwatcher Chris’s voice rang out:
"Can you hear my voice?"
Barro’s eyes moved, his bewildered gaze gradually regaining consciousness amidst the call.
"Damn!"
The rat on Trish’s shoulder, controlling them, screamed quietly, then shrank into Trish’s body.
Immediately afterwards.
Trish’s eyes emitted green light, she growled lowly, hoisted Barro and dashed into the distance.
Despite being a frail woman, carrying Barro, she moved swiftly with astonishing speed.
"Chase!"
Nightwatcher shouted.
On a distant streetlight, a red-eyed bat watched silently, then spread its wings and disappeared.
......
Soon.
A dark alley.
"Bang!"
"Thud..."
Bullets and figures crossed, sounds of collisions echoed, as six Nightwatchers surrounded the target.
"Monkey!"
Sid was blasted out of the shadows by an invisible force, his mangled body couldn’t hold on any longer, he roared skyward:
"If you don’t come out, we’re doomed!"
"Hmph!"
A cold snort came from nowhere, a golden light suddenly shot into the battlefield, knocking away several Nightwatchers:
"If they wanted to kill you, they could have done it long ago, keeping you is just to draw me out."
"Fool!"
Despite his words, a Golden Armored Warrior still appeared in the scene.
"Holy Knight!" Nightwatcher Chris squinted, muscles bulging as his ability to control flesh was pushed to the extreme, he roared and charged at the opponent:
"The Gods are dead, this world now belongs to us!"
"Bang!"
Golden light surged.
The Holy Knight wielding a broad sword and Chris clashed mid-air, the resulting force clearing the surrounding crowd.
"Gods are immortal!"
The Holy Knight lowered his brows and his voice was solemn:
"Those who defy the will of the Gods shall face Divine Punishment!"
"Die!"
"Crack!"
Blinding golden light erupted, illuminating the entire alley.
