Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree-Chapter 595: Different Worlds
Duke placed his Black Sail Badge on the slate, which flashed with a faint light.
The Black Sail Badge was his identification credential. It could be used as proof of identity throughout the Wizard Plane and several of its affiliated planes.
Data flowed rapidly across the crystal screen of the Mechanical Body, which then displayed a friendly smiling expression. "Identity confirmed, Mr. Duke, welcome to the Seville Empire. There are vacancies for the precision apartment suite that meets your requirements. The daily fee is five hundred standard Magic Stones or equivalent Empire coins. How long do you expect to stay?"
"Reserve for ten days first," Duke paid the Magic Stones.
"Transaction completed." The Mechanical Body retracted its arm and slid out a thin metallic card from beneath the counter, with the room number and intricate energy patterns etched onto it.
"This is your room key card, please keep it safe. Your room is on the thirty-seventh floor, room 3708. The elevator is to your left. Simply hold the room card near the sensor area to automatically reach the designated floor. Do you require assistance for your luggage?"
Duke indicated no, as all his belongings were in his Space Ring.
He approached the elevator, a transparent cylinder entirely constructed of metal and crystal.
By holding the room card near the rune beside the door, the crystal door silently slid open.
Inside, there were no buttons—only a gentle voice that prompted, "Card information detected, preparing to transport you to the outer corridor of room 3708."
"If multiple people enter, I suppose they’d be delivered to each floor sequentially," Duke thought upon hearing this reminder.
The elevator ascended smoothly, and through its transparent walls, he could see the hotel’s inner courtyard.
A small eco-garden filled with gear transmission structures and energy pipelines, even hosting some mechanical insects flying amidst the flowers.
Arriving at the thirty-seventh floor, the corridor’s floor consisted of a soft sound-absorbing metal mesh, with walls embedded with light-conducting tubes that emitted a constant glow.
Upon locating room 3708, he held the room card near the lock, and after a few subtle clicking sounds from inside, the heavy metal door opened inwards.
The room inside was spacious, continuing the mechanical aesthetic of the exterior but with more consideration for comfort.
The walls were clad in warm-toned metal panels, the furniture bore a simple and robust design, combining warm solid wood with cold metal materials.
Upon entering, a floating light orb moved before Duke, using a synthesized female voice to inquire about his preferences for room temperature, humidity, background sound, and lighting color.
Duke didn’t have any special requests, opting to maintain the current settings.
The light orb then floated to a corner of the room, ready to await instructions at any time.
This seems to be a kind of mechanical intelligent life, a common tool in the Seville Empire that can assist with various tasks.
The research into the path of Mechanical Wizards in the Seville Empire has become deeply advanced, extending the application of these technologies into many fields.
There’s also a laboratory within the suite; the workbench surface in the laboratory area is made of high-hardness magic alloy, equipped with various retractable tool arms underneath, such as tweezers, carving knives, welding needles, etc.
With Spiritual Power or the touch screen on the desk, many intricate operations can be completed automatically, with a small element extractor and waste disposal port nearby.
On the wall hung a large, flat crystal-like screen, which not only can access hotel services, city maps, and news, but also connect to Anvil Castle’s public information network, even with limited access to the Empire Library’s public catalog.
The meditation room is located at the innermost part of the suite, with a thick, soundproof metal door.
Both the walls and floor inside are equipped with powerful sound-absorbing, energy-blocking, and calming runes, ensuring absolute peace without disturbances.
At the center of the meditation room, there is a miniature energy converging matrix to slightly enhance meditation efficiency.
Through the crystal screen, services can be summoned. Soon enough, low-noise, caterpillar-type small Mechanical Bodies deliver meals, replacement towels, and other items to the dedicated delivery window at the room’s door, maximizing guest privacy protection.
Duke stood by the window, gazing outside at the densely packed mechanical buildings and the constantly shuttling aircraft in the sky.
The scene here is vastly different from the West Coast; it’s as if he inhabits an entirely different world.
After admiring the view outside for a while, Duke moved directly to the wall-sized, mirror-smooth pale blue crystal screen.
He extended his finger to tentatively touch the edge of the screen.
The surface of the crystal screen rippled like water, instantly illuminating and emitting a gentle glow, while a clearly articulated, slightly synthesized pleasant female voice resonated throughout the room.
"Esteemed guest Duke, welcome to the Anvil Castle public and hotel internal information service system. How may I assist you?"
Several clear main option icons appeared on the screen, their style simple yet rich in tech ambiance, outlined with luminous lines and accompanied by subtle gear rotation animations on the edges.

Duke first opened the City Guide and Services, and the screen immediately switched to an incredibly detailed 3D map of Anvil Castle.
The map wasn’t static; it featured tiny light points representing public transport movement. Different areas were color-coded for energy levels and functional divisions such as industrial, commercial, academic, and military zones.
Using his fingers, he could zoom in, rotate the map, and click on any building to reveal a brief introduction and public access permission hints alongside.
Duke saw the majestic Empire Wizard Academy, the heavily guarded arsenal, the gigantic central airport, and several large markets marked with different Commerce Association logos, all impressively precise and real-time.
Yet, he also realized, since the map was real-time, his every move in public areas of the city would be monitored.
This made him more cautious, reminding himself to pay attention to this matter when he went out to handle tasks later.
Next, he opened the Task and Transaction Platform.
It’s akin to an official, large-scale online bazaar and commission center, with the interface divided into major sections such as official tasks, private commissions, and the trading market.
Official tasks are issued by various departments, the Knight Hall, and major institutions, covering areas such as clearing specific regions of demons, capturing fugitives, collecting rare materials, and developing specific technologies, with rewards commonly being Empire contribution points, Magic Stones, or licensed business rights.
Private commissions are released by individuals or organizations with varied content, seeking bodyguards, custom Witchcraft Artifacts, purchasing special potions, or even recruiting adventurers.
The trading market allows for browsing and posting item sale information, ranging from regular Magic Potion materials and Magic Metals to finished Witchcraft Artifacts, Mechanical Body parts, even slave creatures, reflecting a vast assortment.
