World's No. 1 Swordsman-Chapter 591: Only My Sword Knows My Dao!
Wang Sheng couldn't help but sigh with emotion.
At times, she's a sword, at times, she's a person. Could this be what a truesword—ahem, what an actual natural treasure is?
Neither Wang Sheng nor Yaoyun understood what had caused the changes in Spiritless.
At the time, Yaoyun had simply acted based on what her instincts were telling her. She took several steps forward in one direction, relying on Dawnlight to cross several levels.
They truly hadn't anticipated the result before them now.
Spiritless had been reforged and merged with Yaoyun. Moreover, its supposedly high-tech foundational material had completely vanished. It now felt more like a spiritual sword condensed from his own Dao of the Sword and then formed through Yaoyun. Wang Sheng naturally wanted to test its might.
Recalling how he had reduced this place to ruins with just one Green Lotus Ultimate, he quietly flew out of the pavilion and landed on the open space in the small courtyard. With a subtle turn of his wrist, he guided Spiritless through a simple, testing flourish.
"Yaoyun, try and see if we can still achieve the unity of man and sword."
Yaoyun telepathically replied, "Of course, we can."
A surge of spiritual power poured in from Wang Sheng's palm, rapidly merging with his immortal power. Wang Sheng felt like a pufferfish swelling up. His immortal power expanded at a terrifying speed, and his cultivation realm forcibly climbed two levels forward. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
For a fleeting moment, Wang Sheng felt as though he had crossed a barrier and pushed open a large door. He cast a hurried glance inside, only for clouds and mist to fill his vision.
"My spiritual power has increased by about seventy-two times," Yaoyun said lightly. "With this level of unity, I should be able to support you in an intense battle for half a day."
Wang Sheng casually swung his sword forward. He didn't release immortal power, yet ripples formed in the primal qi in the air. Despite its blade appearing dull, Spiritless seemed to cleave through layers of heaven and earth, slowly spreading primal qi outward.
A spiritual sword certainly brought an immense boost to a sword cultivator.
Wang Sheng didn't know how to categorize Spiritless. Considering he found it slightly stronger than the Dragon Sword, he thought it should be classified as a forged spiritual treasure.
He made Yaoyun withdraw her spiritual power, then fully retracted his immortal power as well. Afterward, he stood still and held Spiritless, quietly sensing its meridians, rhythm, and essence.
A gentle breeze blew. Wang Sheng moved with it, flowing into the opening stance of the Pure Yang Sword Song. He leaped and shifted lightly, his sword radiance flashing throughout the courtyard.
Wang Sheng practiced swordsmanship as he had in his early years, when he hadn't made any progress in his cultivation yet. Unlike back then, though, he now imbued sword intent into every technique and moved with natural, effortless precision.
Where the sword sang, he became a soft breeze. Where thunder rumbled, he heard a gentle whisper.
Two disciples passing by the courtyard stopped and watched almost simultaneously. They only saw Wang Sheng move twice, yet it was enough for them to be captivated and for his sword intent to enlighten them.
A window of the sect master's small pavilion was pushed open. Wang Sheng's swordplay had also drawn in Yao Xingzi, who was holding a jade slip. While watching, he stroked his beard and nodded repeatedly.
Shortly after, a strange ripple slowly spread from Wang Sheng's courtyard.
Yao Xingzi used voice transmission to secretly summon more than a dozen young disciples with good aptitude and comprehension, instructing them to observe from the distant sky. Since anyone with even a bit of cultivation could see as far as a hundred li, there was no need for them to come close.
By now, Wang Sheng had switched to the Taiyi Golden Immortal Sword Art.
Each step formed a golden lotus; each strike made a flower bloom.
At times, he just casually and lazily thrust forward. At other times, he swept low as piercingly and swiftly as raging winds. Every cultivator watching was completely drawn in.
There was no need for vast immortal power to bolster the moves, nor dazzling immortal light to accompany them. All that mattered was his sword and technique—the man himself and his Dao.
After going through a complete set of sword techniques, he switched to another sword art. Wang Sheng unleashed a basic sword technique from the Shu Sword Sect, only purer and more straightforward.
The Great Dao seemingly appeared before the cultivators, its hazy form reminiscent of an affectionate woman veiled in thin gauze.
Wang Sheng gradually got rid of his sword techniques' fixed patterns. Right now, he was merely a man with a sword. He conversed with the Dao and nature, mutually sensing each other's existence.
Behind the second-floor window of the small courtyard, Mu Wanxuan sat and leaned quietly against the window frame. With her eyes relaxed and her lips curved into a gentle smile, she fully immersed herself in her junior brother's swordplay.
Wang Sheng seemingly asked himself, What is a sword? What is the Dao?
The growing number of onlookers focused completely on observing Wang Sheng's Dao of the Sword, causing traces of comprehension to quietly emerge in their hearts. Though most immortal cultivators had little to do with that Dao, they still gained deep enlightenment within their own Dao.
Finally, Wang Sheng stopped, stood straight, and held Spiritless behind him with his right hand. He then formed a sword finger with his left hand and slowly pressed it downward before his chest.
Around his Daoist robe, a ripple of Dao Rhythm slowly spread. A green lotus gently swayed behind him, and stars began to flicker one after another in the blue sky.
Wang Sheng chuckled lightly. Staring at Spiritless, he sighed softly. "Only my sword knows my Dao."
Yao Xingzi stroked his beard and smiled.
At that moment, Yaoyun informed Wang Sheng about what was happening around him. Since he had been completely immersed in his sword practice, he only noticed now that hundreds of figures were hovering above him at varying distances.
Wang Sheng didn't know who approached him first. Throwing identity and seniority aside, everyone who had gained insights from his swordplay extended a Daoist salute toward him.
"Thank you so much for your guidance, Elder Pi."
"Thank you for enlightening us with your swordplay, Elder Pi."
"You loosened a bottleneck that I've been stuck at for the past six hundred years. You have my thanks, Elder Pi."
His eyes curved gently in delight as he looked around and calmly accepted the salutes. Afterward, he cupped his hands toward Yao Xingzi and several elders.
Soon after, the immortal cultivators returned to their respective seclusion grounds, beginning the largest wave of secluded cultivation that the Xinghai Sect had seen in nearly ten thousand years.

Wang Sheng had reforged Spiritless, yet he still had over ten jin of Dawnlight left. Hence, he unhesitatingly transferred an entire jin of it to his arm, letting Yaoyun treat it as a snack.
Yaoyun slowly absorbed the Dawnlight, looking as though she could keep pushing forward and achieve another breakthrough.
Wang Sheng couldn't quite understand why she was in such a state, and he couldn't just ask others about it either. Chaos Spiritual Dawnlight was no trivial material, and Lishang—the only other person who knew of it—was currently in secluded cultivation. He had already visited her once; it would not be appropriate to disturb her again.
This was ultimately a good thing, though. There was no need for him to worry too much.
Wang Sheng was rather open-minded. After reforging Spiritless, he went into secluded cultivation with his senior sister for half a month. The two sat facing each other just as they had back then, close enough that raising a hand would let them touch one another.
Wang Sheng didn't fully enter deep meditation, though. After all, he still had to take care of the Xinghai Sect's recruitment drive. Hence, he simply spent his time comprehending Green Lotus Ultimate.
Meanwhile, insights came one after another for Mu Wanxuan. She advanced rapidly in her Great Dao of Yin and Yang, clearly benefiting greatly from Wang Sheng's Dao of the Sword.
Looking at his senior sister, Wang Sheng began to think about what kind of treasure he should prepare for her. He ultimately decided to get her a spiritual treasure rich in spirituality, then use Dawnlight to raise its quality. Ideally, it would give birth to an artifact spirit. After all, he had long noticed his senior sister's entire fondness for sword spirits.
Finding suitable treasures certainly wasn't an easy task. Although Wang Sheng still had Yaoyun's Qiankun Ring, he found it far too unfair to the princess to use her treasures to please his senior sister. Hence, he instead planned to visit a few places and see if he could find some immortal treasures rich in spirituality.
Mu Wanxuan's cultivation realm was still too low, and she couldn't yet fully exert the power of the ever-changing Great Dao of Yin and Yang. For her safety, he had to prioritize making some high-quality defensive spiritual treasures for her.
As the day to exit seclusion approached, Wang Sheng opened his eyes and gazed at the jade beauty before him. His senior sister was in a somewhat loose, long dress, yet he could still faintly see her captivating curves. Her smooth, jade-like skin set his heart racing.
Out of sheer instinct, Wang Sheng softly called out, "Senior Sister."
Mu Wanxuan's long eyelashes fluttered gently as she slowly woke up from her Dao comprehension. Just before she could fully open her eyes, Wang Sheng leaned forward and kissed her lightly on the lips. He then immediately retreated.
Mu Wanxuan blinked in momentary confusion, then realized that her junior brother had ambushed her. She instantly turned red.
Wang Sheng's eyes curved into a smile. He then quickly caught the hint of "retaliation" rising in his senior sister's gaze.
A slender hand wrapped directly around Wang Sheng's neck. Upholding the principle that her junior brother shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of her, Mu Wanxuan launched a counterattack, catching Wang Sheng completely off guard.
A moment later, Mu Wanxuan's cheeks were flushed crimson. She secretly licked her lips with the tip of her tongue, stood to the side with her hands behind her back, and looked out the window as if nothing had happened. Occasionally, she snuck glances at Wang Sheng.
Wang Sheng sat where he was and stared at Spiritless, which was floating before him. He couldn't help but sigh deeply toward the heavens.
If the sword spirit had not kindly reminded them that they were not yet married, perhaps they wouldn't even have to go out today!
Should I tell Yaoyun that I miss my parents and make her deliver a letter to them? Tsk, that could actually work.
At that moment, Yaoyun telepathically remarked, "Don't even think about it."
Wang Sheng didn't know what to say.
In truth, there was a simple solution to the issue of the sword spirit constantly interrupting them. He only had to go back to Earth with his senior sister; ask his parents, master, martial uncles, and martial aunt to bear witness; invite Daoist sects to attend; and marry his senior sister.
That could wait until he had pacified the thirteen qi planets' situation, though.
He still had a long life ahead of him. Although his senior sister had not yet become an immortal, her path to immortality shouldn't be too torturous either. She had been a powerful Golden Immortal in her previous life, after all.
As long as they stayed together, they would always be able to find an opportunity when Yaoyun was in secluded cultivation. With the right atmosphere...
Mu Wanxuan asked softly, "Going out?"
Wang Sheng smiled and nodded. "I already agreed with Elder Linyuan and the others to start recruiting today so we can prepare to expand our sphere of influence. You should come with me. I want you to be with me wherever I go, Senior Sister. I'm afraid I might lose you."
"Mm..."
Mu Wanxuan couldn't help but smile. She took out a set of Daoist robes from her storage artifact, blinked at Wang Sheng, then drifted toward a nearby screen.
Wang Sheng rubbed his nose and stood up. He straightened his Daoist robe, put away Spiritless, and thought about where he could find treasures for his senior sister. Her equipment should always be on par with his.
"Mm... a sword?"
Wang Sheng raised an eyebrow, and a rough idea immediately took shape. He could simply find materials and refine some flying swords, skipping the creation of their sword cores. Afterward, he could use small amounts of Dawnlight to raise their grade.
He could practically mass-produce top-tier immortal swords now.
While the Xinghai Sect's recruitment drew everyone's attention, he could trade three or four top-tier immortal swords for top-tier immortal artifacts and enhance them with Dawnlight. Not only was it an easy way to produce forged spiritual treasures, but it could even lead some of them to birthing artifact spirits!
It's a plausible plan.
Wang Sheng looked at the pile of Dawnlight inside him, making his mind race even further. He soon concluded that aside from refining Spiritless, he shouldn't deplete something as rare and powerful as Spiritual Dawnlight at his current cultivation realm. After all, it could prove to be of great use once he had made further cultivation progress.
For now, he just had to refine a few immortal swords and trade them for treasures for his senior sister.
If he were fortunate enough to obtain the fruit of immortality in the future, he could seek out even more and better flying sword materials. At that point, he could simply produce dozens of spiritual flying swords, use the Sword-Controlling Art to set up a sword formation, and defeat opponents at the same realm with ease.
