Chapter 308: Chapter 308: Some Things, If I Don’t Say Them Now, There May Never Be Another Chance

Vincent Hawthorne didn’t take Declan Pierce seriously.

He stood up with a cold sneer, "I called you Second Young Master Pierce, and you really think of yourself as a member of The Pierce Family? Don’t think I don’t know, you’re just Zeke Pierce’s blood bank, a bastard. Do you really think Tanya would fall for you?"

"The only person she loves is me. You’re just a temporary painkiller for her. The reason she’s in so much pain is because she loves me too deeply!"

Declan Pierce wasn’t angry, he just found it laughable.

He chuckled softly, a sound that was undoubtedly piercing to Vincent Hawthorne’s ears.

"What are you laughing at?"

"Honestly, before today, I was still a bit unsure. I worried that maybe you still held some weight in Tanya’s heart. But after seeing you now, I feel like I was overthinking it." Declan looked at Vincent’s livid face, leaned in slightly, "Someone of your low stature isn’t qualified to be my rival."

His Tanya would never go for someone like you again.

Declan couldn’t be bothered to waste more time, and as he took steps to leave, he paused, suddenly remembering something, aiming to wound.

"You should be grateful, Caden takes after you in no way. I’m really looking forward to the day he calls me ’Dad’."

"Shut up!" Vincent flew into a rage, clenching his fist and charged, his strikes quick and fierce!

As Declan, who had been Zeke Pierce’s blood bank for five years, even though he looked tall and intimidating, was probably hollowed out inside! Just a frail invalid!

This punch could at least break Declan’s nose!

But unexpectedly, Declan’s reaction and skill were faster than Vincent anticipated. He actually reached out and caught the fierce punch, and just when Vincent was surprised, the next second, a heart-wrenching pain struck.

Declan used Vincent’s force, twisting his arm hard in a direction.

"Ah!!" Vincent screamed in pain.

It wasn’t a fracture, but with flesh and bones being twisted tightly under a force strong enough to tear him apart, the pain was far more tormenting than a fracture.

Vincent broke out in a cold sweat from the pain, his legs buckled, and he fell to his knees on the spot.

Just when Vincent thought his entire arm would be useless, Declan let go.

"If you became disabled, Caden would probably be quite upset. If he’s upset, Tanya won’t be happy." Declan slowly pulled out a disinfectant wipe, wiping the hand that had touched Vincent.

As if his hand had touched something vile and dirty.

The crumpled tissue was tossed onto Vincent’s face, who was too pained to stand up.

Declan looked down at him, his gaze icy and murderous.

"Don’t test my limits. I have plenty of ways to make you disappear from the face of the earth."

With that, Declan couldn’t be bothered to look at him again, turning around and leaving.

’Bang—’ The door slammed shut forcefully, Vincent collapsed on the cold, hard floor, his arm still throbbed painfully.

He underestimated Declan.

He was more dangerous than Julian Poole, more dangerous than any man who had been around Tanya Sinclair...

Vincent clenched his fists in fury.

He was unwilling!

Clearly, Declan used to be such a useless person, only able to look enviously at Tanya Sinclair from a distance!

The phone rang inappropriately, jarring in the deathly silence of the living room.

It was Cody Crawford calling.

"Hey, what are you busy with? Haven’t seen you for two days! Heard you got the funding this time! Let’s celebrate, come out for a drink!"

Vincent, already irritated, agreed: "Okay, where?"

On the other end, Cody hung up the phone, turned, and opened the door to the private room, seeing Rhys Lucas sitting in the corner, drinking expressionlessly. He seemed much more dejected these days.

Cody sighed, feeling uneasy inside.

The three of them were like brothers, having grown up together, and both Rhys Lucas and Vincent Hawthorne were like older brothers to him.

How did the two brothers end up like this today?

Thinking of this, Cody felt disgusted by Cindy Lynn!

Luckily, he wasn’t interested in Cindy Lynn’s type, otherwise, the three of them would have been strung along by that woman!

If Cindy Lynn hadn’t caused trouble, they wouldn’t hate Tanya Sinclair so much, and Vincent might have been able to continue his relationship with Tanya, and Rhys Lucas at most would have mocked a bit, and Tanya, for Vincent’s sake, wouldn’t have taken it seriously.

Everything could have gone as planned, but now...

Cody went over and plopped down next to Rhys Lucas.

He was about to speak when he saw Rhys’s phone ringing on the coffee table, displaying—Cindy.

Cody couldn’t hold it in.

"Damn, Cindy actually dares to call you? She’s been playing you and Vincent for years! It’s a wonder you haven’t hit her yet!"

Rhys looked at the name "Cindy" on the screen, feeling indescribable. To him, Cindy had always been his goddess.

Seeing Rhys’s expression, Cody knew he couldn’t let go, feeling both angry and disappointed.

"If you can’t bear it, I’ll block her for you!"

He reached out to grab the constantly ringing phone, but Rhys, unable to let it go, grabbed it first.

"I’ll handle it, stay out of it." Rhys pocketed the phone, letting it ring.

Cody was speechless.

"How will you handle it? Vincent has already announced he’s canceled his engagement with Cindy, he’s blocked all her contacts, that’s what handling it is!" Cody looked at the dark circles under Rhys’s eyes, angrily saying, "I’ve figured it out, Cindy is a vampire, draining anyone she’s attached to!"

Rhys wearily furrowed his brows, "Don’t talk that way about her. She might have been manipulative, but it’s because she loves Vincent Hawthorne. When love becomes obsessive, people can make mistakes!"

"You’re the one who’s confused!"

Seeing that Rhys was unmovable, Cody gave up and went to sing.

After finishing a bottle of wine, Rhys felt it was too stifling inside and got up to get some air.

As soon as he got outside, Cindy persistently called again.

Rhys leaned against the wall, took a deep breath, and answered.

"Senior Brother Lucas, you’ve finally answered!" Cindy’s excited voice pierced Rhys’s heart.

"What else do you want to say?"

"I made mistakes, I lied. I just want to apologize to you in person and say sorry." Cindy cried softly, choked up, "Rhys, my parents were framed by Tanya Sinclair and put in jail. Vincent also broke off the engagement with me. Staying here, I’ll only be a joke, I want to leave Aris, there’s no place for me here anymore."

Hearing Cindy say she was leaving, Rhys felt a lump in his throat, holding back the urge to ask her to stay.

"When are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow morning’s flight. Before I leave, the person I want to see the most is you!"

Rhys was slightly stunned, listening as Cindy continued, "Rhys, I won’t be coming back. There are some things I want to tell you face to face. If I don’t now, I’ll probably never have the chance again."

"..." Rhys was silent for a long time, "Where are you? I’ll come to see you."
