Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 317: Enemies Meet on a Narrow Road
Tanya Sinclair crossed her arms, scrutinizing the two big and small figures in front of her, "Did you two plan this together, hiding it from me?"
She didn’t realize Caden and Declan Pierce were already this close.
"Mom, don’t be mad. We wanted to surprise you~" Caden was getting more skilled at acting cute in front of Tanya Sinclair, his big eyes looking up at her with fluttering eyelashes that could melt anyone’s heart.
Tanya Sinclair couldn’t even pretend to be angry.
Abby watched from the side. She was too young to hide her feelings, and her eyes were full of envy.
Tanya Sinclair noticed and gently shifted the topic to Abby, "Abby, I’m sure Uncle Pierce will help you win back the doll you like."
"Okay."
This game determined opposing families by drawing lots; those who drew the same color ribbons were opponents.
Abby led Declan Pierce to Ms. Underwood to draw ribbons, and Tanya Sinclair watched their big and small figures holding hands as they walked away, feeling an indescribable warmth and cuteness. She couldn’t help but snap a photo with her phone.
Not far away in a corner, Vincent Hawthorne watched them joyously, feeling bitterness in his throat, like he’d swallowed bile whole.
"Daddy..." Joy tugged on his hand, looking around, "Where’s Mrs. Cindy?"
"She probably left first," Vincent Hawthorne replied dismissively.
"Why is that..." Joy was already unhappy, and upon hearing that Cindy Lynn had also left, her little face completely fell.
He found himself completely uninterested in that woman Cindy; she could stay in the restroom forever for all he cared!
If it weren’t for that woman suddenly showing up, Tanya Sinclair wouldn’t be so cold to him today! She was even teaming up with Declan Pierce to annoy him!
"Daddy, is that man... her new husband?" Joy looked at Tanya Sinclair’s affection towards Abby, and in a fit of pique, deliberately didn’t call her mom.
The man she was referring to, of course, was Declan Pierce.
"No," Vincent Hawthorne decisively denied, "It’s just that after divorcing Dad, Mom was too sad and needed someone to keep her company for a while."
Vincent Hawthorne squatted down in front of Joy, explaining to her, "It’s just like when you first started preschool, and you couldn’t bear to be apart from Daddy, so you brought a doll to school to keep you company. Can that doll ever replace Daddy?"
"No way!" Joy shook her head.
How could a doll replace Daddy?
Vincent Hawthorne smiled and said, "So, how could that man possibly replace Daddy in Mommy’s heart?"
Joy seemed to half-understand.
Does that mean Mommy and Daddy will get back together?
She looked toward Tanya Sinclair, just as Tanya also looked her way. Their eyes met, and Joy pursed her lips, couldn’t help but gently wave at Tanya, and immediately lowered her hand to look elsewhere.
Tanya Sinclair was surprised for a moment.
"What’s wrong?" Declan Pierce had returned; he was very sensitive to Tanya Sinclair’s emotions.
"It seemed just now..." Tanya started to say but then laughed at herself, "It’s nothing, I must have seen it wrong."
Cindy Lynn had probably been rescued and taken away by Vincent Hawthorne, and she would have complained to Joy.
The image of herself in Joy’s heart was likely even worse, so why would she greet her? She must have been seeing things.
Declan Pierce didn’t say much, only glanced in the direction of Vincent Hawthorne.
Tanya Sinclair, worried he might overthink, instinctively explained, "I wasn’t looking at Vincent..."
"I know." Declan Pierce interrupted her, his dark eyes calm and gentle, with a trace of unnoticeable heartache. Her only relationship had been with Vincent Hawthorne.
Those years, she loved him with difficulty and humility, leaving shadows of insecurity ever since.
He had once caught Tanya Sinclair on the phone with Vincent Hawthorne.
She gently and cautiously explained that the man who hit on her today was just asking for directions...
"Between us, there’s no need to explain these things." Declan Pierce tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, "Never."
He trusted her completely.
Vincent Hawthorne coldly glanced at the intimate figures of Declan Pierce and Tanya Sinclair, withdrew his gaze, and walked to Ms. Underwood to take the last ribbon.
Ms. Underwood exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, what a coincidence?"
"What?" Vincent Hawthorne frowned slightly, not understanding at first, but in the next second, he realized where the ’coincidence’ was.
Not far away in the game area, there were two circles painted with black paint, and Declan Pierce was slowly walking over with a black ribbon in his hand, taking his position.
Vincent Hawthorne: "..."
Looks like fate loves to play tricks!
In the distance, a disheveled Cindy Lynn was finally released by the cleaning staff.
She smelled so bad that even the cleaning lady covered her nose and walked around her.
Cindy Lynn was about to go mad with anger. Seeing Tanya Sinclair and Vincent Hawthorne’s figures on the playground below made her even more envious and gritting her teeth in jealousy. Those two were actually standing face to face!!
Tanya Sinclair, that bitch, pretending to deal with Joy was just a cover; she really wanted to seduce Vincent Hawthorne again!
"Tanya Sinclair, just you wait!"
But in her current state, she couldn’t go out, so Cindy Lynn thought about calling Rhys Lucas but decided against tarnishing her image in his mind. After some consideration, she ended up calling her little follower, Nina Leslie.
"Nina, bring me a clean set of clothes and pick me up now, okay? Right now!"
