Chapter 332: Chapter 332: What I Say Alone Doesn’t Count

Vincent Hawthorne was momentarily speechless.

He said with a cold face, "What are you comparing yourself to Tanya Sinclair for?"

"Since Tanya can win you over, I can win over Felix Kendall too!" Yvonne Hawthorne crossed her arms and turned to look out the window, "Brother, growing up, Felix is the only man I’ve truly liked! I refuse to believe he has no feelings for me at all. If he doesn’t, why did he save me twice?"

"..." Vincent pressed his throbbing temples, feeling a bit of a headache, "Because he’s a soldier! Overseas, you’re a Rhovan citizen, so protecting you is part of his professional duty!"

"Brother!" Yvonne was displeased.

"Drive, go back to the estate." Vincent instructed the driver in a deep voice.

Yvonne stewed in silence as she stared out the window. Vincent ignored her, so she couldn’t help but turn around and ask, "Brother, why were Tanya and Felix both at the hospital tonight?"

Vincent was scrolling through his phone, not even lifting his eyelids, "They weren’t there together. Felix’s adopted child, Abby, got sick. That kid is very close to Tanya, so she came to take care of her. Felix returned halfway through."

"Child?" Yvonne was slightly taken aback, remembering when she had run into Tanya and Felix having dinner at a restaurant before, and Joy had pushed that child then.

And Tanya, to protect that child, had hit Joy...

"So that’s it!"

Yvonne gritted her teeth in hatred.

That bitch Tanya, pretending to have no interest in Felix, but actually playing the emotional card by using the child!

The rest of the drive was in silence, and by the time they reached The Hawthorne Estate, Vincent’s anger at Yvonne had mostly dissipated.

After all, she was the sister he had spoiled since childhood.

These past days, Yvonne had followed Felix to such tumultuous places abroad, suffering a lot, and had lost quite a bit of weight.

Vincent tried to make his tone sound a bit gentler.

"Alright. I’ll find some time to discuss with Mom and Dad about setting you up with a few suitable matches. Even if their family background is slightly inferior to ours, as long as they’re good to you. This way, when you marry, you won’t be mistreated, you’ll have your family to support you."

After saying this, Vincent choked up a bit himself.

He thought of how Tanya Sinclair had married into The Hawthorne Family back then, without the so-called family backing, and how she had been bullied in this family.

He knew all of this; he just didn’t care... because he was a beneficiary.

Vincent had once righteously believed that as long as he did not personally participate, he wasn’t an exploiter. But he ignored his own identity; he was Tanya’s husband, the only person she could rely on in this family.

His neglect and silence had been her greatest torment.

Belated guilt clutched Vincent’s heart.

Yvonne walked inside without a word, headed straight through the living room, and went upstairs to her room.

Mother Hawthorne, Wendy Chester, emerged from her room, wrapped in a robe.

"Yvonne?" She called out to her daughter, but couldn’t stop her, frowning slightly as she turned to Vincent, "What’s going on? She just got back and is running out again in the middle of the night?"

Vincent exhaled a heavy breath, "Went to find Felix Kendall."

"Felix Kendall?" Wendy’s brows furrowed even more, "This child, why hasn’t she given up yet? I’ll go have a talk with her."

She went to Yvonne’s room door, wanting to open it, but found it already locked.

Wendy was slightly upset as she knocked on the door, "Yvonne?"

"Forget it, Mom." Vincent stepped in to stop her, "She’s just impulsive for the moment. Felix isn’t paying her any attention. We’ll introduce a few other good matches to her, and once her initial excitement passes, she won’t chase after Felix anymore."

Wendy sighed, "This child has been spoiled by me too much."

Vincent said nothing further, only asking, "Where are Caden and Joy?"

"They’re both asleep. You should go back to rest too, sleep early. We’ll take them back tomorrow."

"Okay."

Vincent turned and headed towards his room. Watching his back, Wendy sighed silently, then called after him.

"Vincent."

"Mom, is there something else?"

Wendy walked over, her tone slightly tender, "Don’t just worry about Yvonne and company matters, pay attention to your own marriage too. Cindy Lynn is definitely not an option, but my son is excellent, there are plenty of wealthy heiresses to choose from... I’ll find you a few more, then you can pick one you like..."

"Mom, I’m not in the mood right now," Vincent interrupted, "I’m going to sleep first."

Saying this, Vincent turned around and walked away.

He returned to his room, lying down on his back with a sense of fatigue.

Closing his eyes, Tanya Sinclair’s figure spun in his mind.

She and Declan Pierce were really together...

When mentioning Declan’s name, her eyes would soften. This Tanya, he knew her too well, just like when she used to love him... Now, she truly loved another man.

Feeling vexed and upset, Vincent tore off his tie from around his neck.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room.

Abby had finished her IV and was asleep on the hospital bed, still holding Tanya Sinclair’s hand with her small one.

Tanya, also exhausted from the night, had fallen asleep, leaning against the edge of the bed with her eyes closed.

Declan removed his jacket and gently draped it over her shoulders. Carefully, he pulled Tanya’s hand from Abby’s grip and tucked the child in, then bent down to pick Tanya up, wrapping her in his coat.

As he turned, he spotted Felix Kendall standing by the door, giving him a meaningful look.

Declan nodded slightly, carrying Tanya past him without a word.

Felix leaned slightly against the door, watching as his figure faded away, and turned back to see that Abby had woken up at some point, watching him quietly with her big eyes.

Felix walked over, gently ruffling the little girl’s hair.

"Did we wake you?"

Abby gently shook her head, "Uncle Kendall, do you like Aunt Sinclair?"

Felix sat on the edge of the bed, thought for a moment, and smiled, "Liking someone isn’t something I can decide on my own."
