Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 355: Aunt Sinclair, Could You Come Over?
On the way back, Declan received a call.
Tanya only saw that the call was from Janne Hayes, not knowing what was said on the other side. Declan responded normally: "Okay, I’ll take Tanya home first, and then I’ll come over."
Declan took off the headset casually.
Tanya: "What’s going on?"
"It’s about The Pierce Family’s unfinished business, I need to handle it." He glanced at Tanya and saw her worried expression. He couldn’t help but smile, freeing up a hand to touch her face.
"What’s wrong? Worried I can’t handle it?"
Tanya shook her head and said seriously, "If not necessary, don’t hurt anyone. And don’t do anything illegal."
Declan chuckled lightly: "Alright, got it."
Declan took Tanya back to The Sinclair Family’s old residence. Tanya opened the car door and waved to him from outside.
"Drive safely."
Declan: "Mm."
He sat in the car, his gaze lingering deeply, only retracting his eyes after seeing her enter the house, and then drove away.
Inside the room, Tanya stood by the window, watching the car go off into the distance.
Not until it disappeared did she head towards the kitchen.
At this time, no one else was home. Aunt Tawny had gone to pick up Caden, and today Joy would also be staying overnight. Tanya had prepared some ingredients in advance, planning to make dumplings and do some baking with the kids tonight. It would both help build their bond and train the kids’ hands-on skills.
Just as Tanya finished chopping the meat filling, she received an unexpected call.
It was Abby calling.
"Hello, Abby. What’s up?"
"Aunt Sinclair." Abby’s voice carried a hint of sobbing, and Tanya’s heart skipped a beat, immediately putting down the knife.
"What’s wrong, Abby? Speak slowly."
"Aunt Sinclair, can you come to see Grandpa Kendall? He’s feeling really bad... But I can’t help. A doctor came and then left, yet Grandpa Kendall still feels terrible..."
Old Master Kendall?
Tanya remembered that Felix Kendall was still out on a mission, so Abby was temporarily under Grandpa Kendall’s care.
"Alright, don’t worry. Auntie will come over right away."
Tanya called Aunt Tawny, briefly explained the situation, and told her to have Caden and Joy eat dinner without waiting for her.
Tanya drove straight to The Kendall Family’s old residence.
Probably because Old Master Kendall had given instructions, the guards at the gate recognized her and let her through without question.
After only a few steps, Tanya saw Abby.
She was squatting not far from the entrance, sullenly fiddling with the little flowers beside her.
"Abby." Tanya called out.
Abby looked up and saw Tanya, immediately running over to her. The little girl’s eyes were red, obviously from secretly crying.
"Don’t worry, lead Auntie to see Grandpa Kendall."
"Mm!"
Abby sniffed, holding Tanya’s hand as they went to Old Master Kendall’s bedroom.
The butler was just coming out with dinner, the food on the plate untouched.
"Ms. Sinclair?" The old butler was slightly taken aback to see Tanya.
Tanya glanced inside: "Is Grandpa Kendall not eating? What did the doctor say when he came, is it an old problem making him lose appetite?"
The butler was about to speak but hesitated, seeing Abby nearby.
"Abby, would you go in first and tell Grandpa that Auntie is here, alright?" Tanya said softly.
Abby nodded obediently and went inside first.
Only then did the butler let out a long sigh and tell Tanya the truth: "Ms. Sinclair, Old Master Kendall’s health is the same as usual, neither good nor bad. It’s just that this afternoon he received some news. He’s a bit overwhelmed..."
Tanya looked at the butler’s expression and faintly guessed something.
"Is it about Felix Kendall?"
