Chapter 132: Chapter 127: A Courier Falls from the Sky

"Uh, the thing just now was a misunderstanding, cough, it wasn’t what you saw," Ye Tian said, visibly embarrassed by the private massage incident.

"Brother Ye, don’t worry, I know what’s up. I can understand, and I won’t tell anyone," Gu Lei promised immediately.

"Good brother, I’ll treat you to a drink later," Ye Tian chuckled and patted Gu Lei on the shoulder.

Office scandals weren’t really a problem for Ye Tian, but he was mainly concerned about potential negative impacts, especially on Bai Lan’s reputation, and if Yun Xinyan heard about it, it could lead to family conflicts again.

"By the way, where is that package you mentioned earlier?" Ye Tian asked.

"It should be downstairs. You know our headquarters is usually strict; they don’t let strangers in," Gu Lei responded. "Brother Ye, you should ask the receptionist; they would know best about this kind of thing."

Ye Tian left Gu Lei and went straight to the receptionist, where indeed there was a package for him, located in the basement garage, likely delivered by a regular delivery van from a standard courier company.

"They say manna falls from heaven, but why am I getting packages instead?"

Taking the elevator down, Ye Tian couldn’t help but smile wryly and shake his head. Weird things had been happening non-stop, from Wang Bingbing’s sudden change of attitude in the morning to now a package literally falling from the sky—it was all turning his brain to mush.

Ye Tian was certain he had never ordered anything online and he certainly wouldn’t casually disclose the corporation’s address; the arrival of this package was too eerie and utterly baffling.

"An abnormal occurrence signifies the presence of a demon!" Ye Tian heightened his vigilance.

The elevator continuously moved downward and soon arrived at the first basement level.

The underground garage was filled with many cars, all belonging to the building’s employees, including his own McLaren and other company vehicles. After all, the tall building was not solely occupied by Yun Corporation.

Ye Tian glanced around; there was no delivery van nearby, only a middle-aged man standing opposite.

He was holding a parcel wrapped in yellow tape, with a baseball cap pulled low over his eyes, obscuring them.

The man was dressed plainly, wearing rubber shoes tied neatly—nothing distinctive about him; he was the type who would blend into a crowd and go unnoticed.

However, Ye Tian immediately noticed that his knuckles were worn smooth, and his right hand, particularly the base, was covered in calluses—this man was definitely a martial artist, and judging by the calluses on his right hand, he was also a skilled knife user.

Before Ye Tian could speak, the courier approached him, a professional smile on his lips, and politely asked, "Excuse me, are you Mr. Ye Tian? I am from Universal Express. Here is your package; please verify it. If everything looks good, could you please sign here?"

As he spoke, he presented the receipt for Ye Tian to sign.

"I haven’t ordered anything online; could there be some mistake?" Ye Tian intentionally scrutinized him as he spoke.

"That’s unlikely; all our deliveries are verified, and moreover, look, this is clearly the address," the courier patiently explained.

"I think there’s been a mistake. I don’t have any packages. Take it back," Ye Tian persisted.

"Sir, how about this? Why don’t you check the package? You’ll understand once you’ve seen it," the courier suggested.

As Ye Tian took the package, the courier’s eyes briefly flitted with smugness—a sight that Ye Tian captured, though he didn’t yet understand the basis of his self-satisfaction.

Ye Tian sneered inwardly but didn’t call him out. He took the package as instructed and started to open it. The package was tightly secured, wrapped in layers of tape, and was quite a struggle to unpack.

Seeing that he had taken the bait, the courier’s lips subtly curled into a sinister smirk, and he kindly helped Ye Tian open it while slowly grabbing a dagger hidden beneath the box.

The courier stole a glance at Ye Tian and, seeing him wholly focused on the package, felt even more confident. He chose this rare opportunity to take action.

The underground garage was deserted, a perfect place for a murder, which was why he had chosen this spot.

Without any hesitation, the courier gripped the dagger and plunged it towards Ye Tian’s heart, shouting confidently, "Die!"

Suddenly, something felt amiss—his dagger didn’t budge!

"You!" The courier stared at Ye Tian in shock.

"I’ve been watching you for a long time. Finally showing your true colors, huh?" Ye Tian said with a faint, aloof smile.

He had already let go of the package, and now his index and middle fingers tightened around another sharp dagger between them. The dagger’s handle was in the courier’s hand, yet despite his forceful stabbing, the blade wouldn’t move.

"So, you knew all along!" The courier gritted his teeth angrily.

"Those are mere child’s play leftovers from my grandfather. You’re still too green to compete with me!"

Ye Tian slightly tightened his grip on the dagger, unleashing his internal strength. With a snap, the steel blade broke in two, shocking the courier as his palm split open, gushing with blood.

"Talk, with no hard feelings, who sent you to kill me?" Ye Tian asked with a cold sneer, staring at him.

"Go ask King Yan; I’m after your life!"

The courier suddenly clenched both his fists and swung directly at Ye Tian’s face, throwing punches extravagantly, vigorously, and ferociously. Each punch whipped up a gust, clearly demonstrating several years of training.

"You really won’t shed a tear until you see the coffin, huh? Well, sorry then."

Ye Tian lightly tapped the concrete with the tip of his foot and drifted backward, followed by a series of chained kicks, both of which landed on the courier’s chin, shattering it instantly.

The courier screamed in pain and lunged again. Ye Tian hadn’t expected him to be so fierce; despite the severe injury, he still had the courage to fight like a cornered beast. This man could very well be a dead soldier.

"Fool!"

The opponent came to kill him, and now Ye Tian fully understood. Frowning, he executed a high-pressure leg slice, lifting his heel above the man’s head and chopping down like a guillotine.

The fierce force struck the top of the courier’s head, causing him to kneel on the ground like mush, unable to stand up again.

Ye Tian killed the dead soldier, dragged him to a secluded corner, and meticulously searched his body, indeed finding a clue.

Inside the man’s pocket was a stark black token, forged from cast iron, depicting a fierce ghost face on the front and two blood-red characters on the back: Hell!

"Damn it all, so he was sent by the King of Hell!"

Ye Tian was immediately enraged. The King of Hell had made another move against him, and using such a despicable method. Had it not been for his timely spotting of the flaw, he might have fallen into his trap. Death wasn’t certain, but injury was likely.

"King of Hell, you bastard, don’t let me find you, or I’ll flay you alive and cut off your lineage!" Ye Tian roared furiously.

After the incident with the Shadow Assassin, the King of Hell still dared to make a move on Ye Tian, seemingly unchastened by the past events, only becoming more daring instead.

Facing such a looming threat from the King of Hell, Ye Tian would not tolerate it. It seemed he must pay a visit to Wang Bingbing to let her find the King of Hell’s location sooner so he could strike decisively and wipe him out!

The assassin’s body was clean, with nothing but the Hell token on him, clearly prepared to die, only marked by a flame tattoo on his arm.

Leaving the body in the parking lot was not a good idea; discovery would undoubtedly lead to complications.

Ye Tian directly called the Hungry Wolf, ordering him to come here immediately to dispose of the body.

Speaking of the Hungry Wolf, he was one of Ye Tian’s Great Generals.

Initially, this fellow had also tried to assassinate Ye Tian but was later subdued by him, thereafter serving Ye Tian with absolute loyalty. Ye Tian was very open with him; a classic case of trusting completely those you use and not using those you don’t trust.

"Come over to Empire Square, help me handle something."

Ye Tian issued the command to the Hungry Wolf, his words always simple and free from clutter.

Handling such messy tasks was second nature to the Hungry Wolf, who would leave no trace, making him the perfect man for the job.

About twenty minutes later, an SUV pulled into the underground parking, and a tall man stepped out, walking directly to Ye Tian and respectfully said, "Master."

With a cigarette dangling from his lips, Ye Tian pointed to the corpse in the corner, "This man has been dealt with by me. See if you can find any leads."

The Hungry Wolf nodded respectfully, strode to the body, and squatted to thoroughly inspect it. After a while, he stood up, approached Ye Tian, and reported, "Master, this man has a flame tattoo on his arm. If I’m not mistaken, he should be from Jiang City’s underground world, affiliated with the Fire Virtue Gang."

"Fire Virtue Gang? What’s that?"

Ye Tian was puzzled; he hadn’t been in Jiang City for long and was unfamiliar with many of the underground organizations there, much less the Fire Virtue Gang.

"The Fire Virtue Gang is a relatively new gang established in the past few years, Master. It’s normal that you haven’t heard of it," the Hungry Wolf began to explain. "The gang is neither big nor small, composed of individuals who are fearless and eager to fight, gaining strength in Jiang City through brazen confrontations."

Ye Tian had once instructed the Hungry Wolf to keep a watch on the Jiang City underground, and after several days of inquiries, he was well-acquainted with these organizations, having touched on all the major gangs.

The Fire Virtue Gang wasn’t considered a major faction, and the Hungry Wolf had only taken a cursory interest—but now they had brazenly made a move against his master, failing to recognize the disaster this would provoke.

"Fire Virtue Gang, is it? Since they’ve reached out their hands towards me, then I’m sorry to say, today everyone pays—I’ll wipe them all out!"

A devilish gleam flickered in Ye Tian’s eyes. He stomped out his cigarette butt and with a grand gesture said, "Let’s go. Lead the way, we’ll have a look at the Fire Virtue Gang."

"I follow the Master’s orders."

The Hungry Wolf immediately agreed, unlocked the car with his remote, and tossed the body into the trunk. Then he got into the driver’s seat, serving as Ye Tian’s personal full-time driver.
