Chapter 1364: Do You Want Me To Warm You Up?

“After that kidnap incident when I was five, I had suffered it too. Thanks to my brothers and of course brother An Tian, I was fine soon,” Lu Lijun said.

“Hmm, you told me and Jake once,” Noah replied.

Lu Lijun nodded, “But Can’t deny the fact that such incidences leave a deep impression on your mind and affects you.”

“True.”

“She has gone through a lot that we can even imagine. I might not understand or feel her pain but I wish her to rely on me,” Lu Lijun added.

Noah put his hand on Lu Lijun’s shoulder to console him, “I can see the change in her towards you. I believe you see it.”

Lu Lijun nodded, “I hope it’s not just temporary after she was scared to lose me on that day of the accident.”

“If that is the reason, that means you are much more important to her than you think,” Noah said while Lu Lijun stayed quiet.

“Don’t worry. I think everything will be fine. Shall we leave now?” Noah asked.

The two left towards the drawing room where Jiang Yuyan and Xiao Min were not present.

“Young Mistress has left for the office,” Martha informed.

Lu Lijun simply left and thought, ‘Is she trying to avoid me now?’ Just then he heard Noah as they walked towards the car, “Looks like someone is trying to run away from you. Did you scare the lady last night?”

“To me, it looks like the lady enjoyed it,” Lu Lijun commented with a sly smile that Noah didn’t miss and said, “You sly fox.”

The two sat in the car and left for the office.

Just then Lu Lijun received a call from his mother.

“Mother, I am sorry I could not call you for the past two days,” Lu Lijun said as he had promised his mother to call her often.

“It’s fine,” she assured and asked, “How is Yuyan?”

“She is fine for now,” Lu Lijun replied.

“Good to know.”

“Mother, I plan to keep her here till she gets better. She needs someone by her side and….” Lu Lijun didn’t know how to explain it to his mother.

“I understand. Just take care of her and yourself as well. I want both of you to be fine,” Ning Jiahui said.

“Thank you, mother.” He asked, “How’s everyone? Especially Grandpa and Grandma?”

“They were worried for Yuyan but your father told them she is fine. Make sure both of you call them,” Ning Jiahui instructed.

“I will, mother,” Lu Lijun assured.

After talking for a while, they hung up the call.

“Is everything alright?” Noah asked.

“Hmm,” Lu Lijun nodded, “When I left home four months back, I thought everything between her and me was over and nothing would ever happen between us. My family must have thought the same but now here we are together again.”

“Will they mind it?” Noah asked.

“It’s not about if they mind it or not. I have already taken away their rights of opposing me but I still wonder what they actually think about it. Mother, she talked nicely but I can’t guess her thoughts. She loves me and Yuyan but I don’t know if she accepts seeing us in a relationship. Not just her, but I wonder if other family members would have accepted it easily,” Lu Lijun replied.

“Your father?”

“Father seems to have known it long back. He didn’t look surprised at all but he was worried for me when I left.”

“After all fathers know their sons well,” Noah added.

“They are stuck between me and her. I who wanted her and she who didn’t want me. It’s hard for them to take a side of one of us. I hope they won’t have to take a side anymore.”

Noah quietly heard him as he could do nothing more but be by his friend’s side.

They reached the office where Jiang Yuyan had stepped out of the car and entered the office building to go towards the elevator. Lu Lijun and Noah caught up to them as the other two were waiting for the elevator.

Jiang Yuyan didn’t look at Lu Lijun Lu Lijun looked at Noah with a meaningful gaze to which he nodded.

Just as the elevator arrived, Noah said, “Mr Xiao Min, I have something to discuss with you.”

Xiao Min nodded and without a question followed Noah.

Jiang Yuyan looked at him, “Where are you going?”

“Boss, there is something important. I’ll be back to you soon,” Xiao Min said and left without giving her a chance to stop him

Elevator arrived and Lu Lijun gestured for her to step inside. Jiang Yuyan did so and Lu Lijun followed her. With only two in the elevator, the door closed.

“Is there something that upsets you?” Lu Lijun asked.

“Nothing,” she replied.

“When you were coming downstairs in the morning, I saw you looking at me angrily?” he said.

“You saw it wrong,” she denied it straight away. What would she say that she felt angry for a moment after remembering that he ignored her at that party and went to dance with another girl? There was no way she would ever show this side of her to him.

“Fine, then why are you trying to avoid me?” he asked.

“I didn’t,” she said firmly.

He looked at the stubborn woman standing next to him in that small space of the elevator, “Are you sure?”

She sensed his gaze at her and gulped. She didn’t look at him and nodded.

He leaned closer and whispered in her ear, “Do you know when you lie, your ears turn red?”

She felt a shiver and looked at him while taking a step away from him. She touched her ears, “It-it must be cold air here.”

He took a step closer to her and asked while cornering her towards the wall of the elevator, “Then, do you want me to warm you up? You know I have a solution for every issue you have.”
